Chapter 2

Why Are You Like This?

Kristen was so angry that her whole body was trembling.

She had been engaged to Trey for two years and married him for a year. She knew he didn't like her, so she never came here.

However, she had to figure out the truth about the design drafts!

It was her dream. The dream she had worked so hard to realize was easily ruined by a copy.

"I know."

The receptionist sneered, "I know you are Mrs. Barrett, the daughter of the driver of the Barrett family. When you got married, the media was filming the whole thing. I watched the wedding.

"Well, Mrs. Barrett, I am sorry to tell you that this is the rule here. You can't see the CEO without an appointment.

"If you don't leave, I will ask the security guards to kick you out."

Everyone in the company knew that Trey was extremely disgusted with Kristen, and the receptionist showed Kristen no respect at all.

Meanwhile, a luxury car stopped at the door.

Kristen turned her head to look.

A young woman in fashionable clothes, wearing sunglasses and 3-inch high heels, came in.

The contempt on the receptionist's face was immediately replaced by a smile. She greeted the woman with a smile, "Ms. Locke, hi.

"You can take the CEO's exclusive elevator. This way, please. The CEO is waiting for you."

Kailyn Locke glanced at Kristen from the corner of her eye and sneered, "Don't let trash in, or Trey's mood will be ruined."

"Yes, sure. I see.

"Where are the security guards? Kick this woman out!"

Two security guards ran over and reached out to hold Kristen's arms.

"Let go of me! I want to see Trey! You bastards!"

However, Kristen, the so-called Mrs. Barrett, had no say in the Barrett Group at all. She was nobody, even in front of the security guards.

Kristen was only 100 pounds. She was no match for two beefy security guards.

Bang!

The security guards threw her out of the Barrett Group, just like how she was thrown out of the venue an hour ago.

There was a rumble.

The weather didn't favor her either.

The heavy rain poured without warning, and the sky was so dark and depressing.

The pedestrians on the road were in a hurry, and because of the heavy rain, no one had time to pay attention to Kristen, who was in a sorry state.

Kristen hid in the eaves of the adjacent mall and shuddered, while her eyes were fixed on the Barrett Group.

She had to get to the bottom of it today!

She could ignore everything else. It didn't matter if Trey didn't love her or mock her, but he didn't have the right to destroy her dream!

Half an hour passed, and then one hour, two hours, and three hours.

After three whole hours, Trey went downstairs with Kailyn, the Z-list star.

Kristen rushed into the heavy rain while ignoring her tired body and went straight to the Barrett Group.

"Mr. Barrett, Ms. Locke."

The receptionist greeted Trey and Kailyn respectfully. When she looked up, she saw Kristen rushing over. She hurriedly winked at the security guards standing at the door.

She gestured with her eyes, wanting them to drag Kristen away, in case she affected Trey's mood.

Yet the two security guards failed to stop the crazy Kristen.

"Get lost!"

Kristen roared and rushed into the lobby. She reached out and grabbed Trey's arm.

Trey was stunned and then came back to his senses. "What are you doing here? Why are you like this?"

Kailyn's eyes went cold, and she pulled Kristen. "What are you doing? You are so dirty. Get your hands off Trey."

"Get out of my way!"

Kristen pushed Kailyn away and still grabbed Trey tightly. She stared at him with wide eyes and asked word by word, "Trey, tell me that you didn't show my design draft to Emilee. It wasn't you, right?"

Now that things had come to this, she still held hope for him, the man with nothing but coldness and aloofness.
