Chapter 3

Everyone was bewildered when they saw the ancient token in Nancy’s hand.

“It looks like Emilia’s seriously sick. She even handed the token to Nancy.”

“Stella, we have testimonies and material evidence. You’re just a servant. Get lost!”

I gnashed my teeth and could taste blood. In my previous life, I never managed to stop them. Hence, I had no idea that they had hollowed out my family without my mother’s knowledge and mine.

I was consumed by deep hatred. I leapt forward to snatch away the token from Nancy.

David had already broken ties with me. So, he ordered numerous of his loyal followers to block my path, and they started fighting me.

Although I was a skilled fighter, I was still a human being. I could not fight so many people alone. Before long, someone targeted me and smashed a blunt object into the back of my head.

That attack hit me hard, and my vision blurred as I started wavering.

Disdain dawned on David, and he kicked me in the chest to get me off the stage.

For a moment, Nancy appeared smug. She walked up to me and raised her leg fiercely. She was about to step on my face.

However, my hatred drove me to punch her in the foot. I easily made her fall since she was a weak woman who could not fight.

My actions drove Liam mad, though.

“You evil woman! How dare you hurt her?! Break her hands!”

David immediately fished out a switchblade. He made those on either side of me pin down my right hand, which I had used to harm Nancy. Then, he gave it a hard stab.

“Listen, Stella. I’m going to ruin your hands and break your limbs today. Plus, I’m going to dump you in an illegal octagon and turn you into a disabled person! You’ll always be inferior to Nancy!”

I was engulfed in pain. Those who felt ill from such a scene turned away and became too timid to watch.

I spat blood on the men and yelled hysterically, “Kill me if you have the guts! If you don’t, you’ll be doomed when my mom gets here!”

Charles started to panic, and he looked at Liam right away.

Liam merely snorted with disdain and whispered in my ear, “Let me be frank with you. Your mom’s not waking up. Stop dreaming that someone will come and prove your identity, Stella. The entire Emerald Enigma, including your men, will belong to Nancy.”

He cracked a wicked smile, which made my heart sink instantly. No wonder no one from my family came to save me from the octagon in my previous life. It turned out that they had conspired with each other to harm my mother.

When the men saw my panic, they burst into laughter.

I grabbed the opportunity to flip the individuals who were pinning me down and bit Liam’s ear. I shook my head and bit off a piece of his flesh.

He screamed in pain, and Nancy felt incredibly sorry for him.

Infuriated, Charles rebuked me fiercely, but it did not help to pacify his anger. Therefore, he picked up a bottle of red wine and smashed it on my head.

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done? How dare you harm him?!”

The attack left me dizzy, but I suddenly detected a few suspicious things.

Charles had hated Liam from a young age. He would point out Liam’s ugly features and bad character. He would also claim that Liam was a shameless guy who had stolen our late father’s position. Yet, he had become quite worried about Liam.

Max seemed worried too, and he busied himself with tending to Liam’s wound.

Something glinted in David’s hand, and soon, a switchblade was pressed against my throat.

“I’m sorry, Stella. I didn’t want to kill you. But you keep hurting the people I value. I can’t let you live.”

I was already injured, and my limbs were broken; I could no longer fight him.

Someone started to cover their eyes as they waited for me to be killed.

Just then, a fierce roar came from the hall’s entrance.

“Why has Stella’s wedding turned into such a mess? Stop this!”
