How To Break An Alpha On Ice: His Curved XL Mate

I hate them weak: the heroine of the story. I was one in mine but never again! I had vowed that until I stumbled upon an annoying book. A chubby weak heroine brutally rejected by her mate, the arrogant Alpha. “If I were that Luna, I would make that Alpha beg on his knees—on and off the ice.” I typed bitterly. But the universe mocked me, it made a”bet” with me and the next morning, I woke up in the webtoon as Avri, the weak heroine. Would I truly be able to bend the arrogant Alpha Killian on his knees? Who would win, the universe or I ? What Ancient secret lies between Alpha Killian and i?

Chapter 6

Ava’s POV

I got you dumbass!

I enthusiastically moved towards my team goalie who had also seen the ferocious attack from a mile away. As I had planned, the pervert from earlier advanced towards me. To the numbskull, as a forward for the opposing team, I was an easy prey for a left defenseman, underestimating my prowess was obvious. I had marked his slightly slouched back which even the hockey vest couldn’t hide.

“Get away from him dumbass.” I heard someone yelled behind me.

I lost focus for a split second, our team goalie Gale who was one of Alpha Killian’s experienced players must have thought I was going to be a total disaster judging from my size. The pervert had been tossing the novice member of my team since the past three minutes that the match started.

Obviously, those guys were really clueless but i couldn’t do anything to help them, I was put on the defense line, I guess Alpha Killian didn’t expect much from a loser like me either.

Focus Ava! Focus Goddammit!

The crazy voice in my head yelled and I farted, the loud wind blew back my senses and I moved forward on the ice rink towards that asshole. My scates proved their worth as they moved like royalty, it was worth all the trouble of getting the best.

I calculated his moves and smiled inwardly, the idiot was quite predictable. Bringing him down was going to be the easiest I have done in my hockey career but…..

Why is my pace freaking slow!

“Fat boy, Get the fuck out of my face!” I heard

something that sounded like that, I turned around again, it was my goalie, that freaking Gale!

Did he just yell and call me fat?

All Gale I know are idiots! My dumbass ass ex is a great example!

I refuse to be intimidated so I went for it, the ice skating was embedded in me, my fucking size shouldn’t stop me. When I said I was going to make Avie a superstar, I wasn’t all talk.

I picked up my pace and Avie’s body started to follow my lead, I had seen the loophole to catching the pervert unaware. It was so thin that it is either I stop him or the puck makes for the net. I have done this over a million times in my career, I was more certain as I got closer, werewolf or not, these boys aren’t my match.

Have you seen my trophies?

Finally the pervert sighted me but it was too late for him, I had caught him unaware, as I moved my hockey stick to clash with his, my hand got stuck. I looked up and to my disappointment, Sean, one of the other novice from my team had blocked my way right in front of the fucking goal post.

Another fucking idiot!

Then boom!

Goal!

A strong deafening yell from the other team filled my earbuds. I looked up and noticed Alpha Killian, the observer clapping enthusiastically. His cute smile and confident poise irritated the shit out of me. I turned around towards my goalie Gale, he was supposed to be a fucking experienced players but he is no different from the rest of the novice on the team.

Or am I taking out my anger on him?

The game continued after the pervert made a fuck you sign to me. My shin pads feel heavier but I had to endure the discomfort afterall, the goal was for A. J Lowell to emerge as an anonymous superstar unfortunately, that plan isn’t going on well. I returned to my initial position with more determination in my heart. I know the first round is only a few minutes away but i have to give it my best shot.

My team goalie Gale eyed me maliciously but I ignored him, I can tell that we would never get along even if I made the team. He must be as egocentric and narcissistic as my ex. The match continued again and I waited impatiently for the idiots from my team to get tossed around as usual,

To my surprise, one of them seemed quite experienced. Probably the dude had been saving his strength for later. My eyes remained glued on his tactics, they were familiar too, just like that guy, my one night stand from an opposing team when I was a starter.

Could he have ended in this trashy webtoon like I had?

Focus Ava! He is a bigger foe here, if he makes the team, you won’t.

That was enough pep talk to rill me up again.

The puck had ended up in another player’s hand who was now in a tussle with my bigger foe, I guess Mr Pervert was done showing off his expertise to the novice, myself included, he had relented and kept sidelining himself basking in the glory of his previous goal. My eyes instinctively moved towards Killian’s direction, this time, I froze!

A petite girl sat on Killian’s lap.

Fresh anger rose in me and I almost broke the hockey stick in my grasp. He kept his attention on the game but I could tell he was listening to whatever crap the girl was saying to him. They both laughed.

“Move along dumbass!” One of the boys on my team, the other defenseman asides me yelled.

I am getting yelled at a lot today, why am I this stupid. This wasn’t it, I am a hockey champion that had worn so many prestigious medals, how was I reduced to nothing in front of these men without proper balls, I was even staring at Killian like a stupid lover girl when the initial goal was to make him beg for mercy right on this ice.

This wasn’t going to work, I am at a great disadvantage as a defenseman, I need to be at my stonghold, scoring goals was my stronghold. Getting placed by the sideline was my undoing and drooling over the boys made it worse, this wasn’t the time to be a girl, I am meant to be a warrior, strong and fierce just like reputation in my world.

Avie, We will do this! Even if we have to break a fucking rule.

I balled my gloved finger and made towards the middle of the ice rink with firm determination when I heard the fucking whistle blown.

First half done!

The air at Moonstone Territory crackled with anticipation as our convoy arrived. Three months pregnant, I felt a rare sense of peace, one hand resting protectively over my slightly rounded belly as I stepped from the car. My wolf, Victoria, purred contentedly within me, sharing my quiet joy. "Luna Victoria!" Several Silvermoon delegates rushed forward, bowing respectfully. "You're radiant today." I smiled, accepting their compliments with a graceful nod. My aura—stronger since my pregnancy—rippled around me in waves of silver light that even humans might have sensed had they been present. "Where is Alpha Michael?" I asked, scanning the gathering crowd. "Already at the ceremonial grounds, Luna," replied a young warrior, his eyes darting away too quickly. Something cold slithered down my spine. Victoria growled softly in my mind, suddenly alert.

The nursery was the only place in the Pack House where the air didn’t feel like it was choking me. It was a small room on the third floor, far away from the Alpha’s luxurious suite—the suite that should have been mine by right, but was currently occupied by a woman who wasn't. "Mama, look," Tommy whispered, holding up a drawing. It was a crude, crayon depiction of a large black wolf standing next to a smaller, golden one. "That's Daddy. And that's me." My heart clenched, a familiar, dull ache that had been my constant companion for seven years. Tommy had never seen Remington’s wolf form up close. My mate, Alpha Remington Stevens, barely looked at our son, let alone shifted for him. To Remington, Tommy was just a reminder of a political shackle he was desperate to break. To me, Tommy was the only reason I was still breathing.

The dress was ivory. Not white — ivory. Apparently there's a difference when you're being mated off to the Alpha of the most powerful pack on the East Coast. I didn't pick it. I didn't pick the flowers, the venue, or the three hundred wolves filling the Ironveil Pack's ceremonial hall like it was some kind of political concert. My mother picked the dress. My father picked the date. And somewhere in between, they picked my entire future without asking me once. But I didn't know that yet. Not at the altar.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, tracing the mate mark on my neck that had brought me nothing but pain for seven years. The mark that should have been a symbol of love and devotion had instead become a brand of rejection. "Luna Elena?" My handmaiden's voice pulled me from my thoughts. "There's news from the pack gathering." I turned, smoothing my expression into the neutral mask I'd perfected over years of public humiliation. "What is it, Lily?" She hesitated, her eyes darting nervously to the door. "The Alpha has purchased an extravagant diamond necklace for Scarlett. It's said to be worth more than our annual pack budget for healing supplies." My stomach clenched. Another gift for his chosen mate, another public declaration of his obsession. "There's more," Lily whispered, stepping closer. "He plans to present it to her at the upcoming pack gathering, in front of all the allied packs." The room seemed to tilt slightly.

The first sensation was smell—antiseptic mixed with something floral and wrong. My eyelids fluttered open, revealing an unfamiliar ceiling. Not my bedroom. Not my packhouse. My fingers twitched against crisp sheets. Hospital sheets. "She's waking up," a voice murmured nearby. "Get the sedative ready." I tried to lift my hand, but my limbs felt like lead. Three years. Three years I'd been lying here, trapped in darkness, while the world continued without me.
