How To Break An Alpha On Ice: His Curved XL Mate

I hate them weak: the heroine of the story. I was one in mine but never again! I had vowed that until I stumbled upon an annoying book. A chubby weak heroine brutally rejected by her mate, the arrogant Alpha. “If I were that Luna, I would make that Alpha beg on his knees—on and off the ice.” I typed bitterly. But the universe mocked me, it made a”bet” with me and the next morning, I woke up in the webtoon as Avri, the weak heroine. Would I truly be able to bend the arrogant Alpha Killian on his knees? Who would win, the universe or I ? What Ancient secret lies between Alpha Killian and i?

Chapter 7

Fuck! He is coming closer.

Every stride of Alpha Killian feels like he just walked out of a freaking magazine’s front page. I adjusted my chin pad as the heat was finally getting to me. I should be resting right now before the game continues but damn! Dumbass Gale has a lot of scolding lined up for me.

“Even my old aaa grandmother knows not to leave her fucking position when……”

“Drop it Gale, the boy is gonna shit his pants soon at this rate.” Alpha Killian’s voice called out as he approached us.

“Captain Killian, this fat boy is driving me crazy, he left his position, a defender at that, if the first half hadn’t ended, it would have…..”

“..Been a disaster?” Killian interrupted, “The whole team is a disaster in itself Gale, don’t beat yourself up over that, I only asked you to be the goalie afterall only one of them is useful to us…eventually.”

That obnoxious jerk!

Like a fool, I stood there and watched the two idiots talk shit about me. If I hadn’t dropped my hockey stick, I could have ended up killing a werewolf right now.

“Where is Lily?” Gale questioned looking around.

Lily? That must be the petite girl sitting on his lap earlier,

My eyes twitched as I waited for Killian’s response

“She left to see her husband.”

Husband!

“Oh! Okay.” Was Gale’s flat response.

What the hell! How could they talk about that so casually? The bitch was married and sitting on another man’s lap. I mean i have read that werewolves tend more towards their animalistic nature than humanity but witnessing it firsthand was damn creepy.

“Why are you staring at the captain like that Fatso?” Gale’s rude voice interrupted my thoughts.

I took to steps backward sinking into my role play. I cleared my throat using my most masculine voice, I turned to face Killan and spoke.

“Captain please make me a Forward, I do better as one than as a defenseman.”

It came, what I had feared and hated!

The mockery laughter,

“Argh! Argh! Argh! Argh!”

The two men laughed like I was a toddler seeking their love.

Well, I am seeking approval though!

“You lack basic skill as a defenseman, how would you even be able to handle trying to score against the Frozen Blades professional league.” Gale said glaring at me.

I was a little bit intimidated.

Not because he was right but because Alpha Killian kept staring intently at me. Like he was sizing me up, or had i been exposed already?

“Change his position.” Alpha Killan said suddenly.

“What? Captain, he is not….” Gale started.

“Replace him with the red haired boy, it is a testing phase Gale, let’s see what the boy claims to possess and moreover, he almost had Dylan hooked earlier if one of the other boys hadn’t stepped in.”

What? He saw that!

I am literally jumping up joyfully in my mind. Maybe I was wrong, Alpha Killan might actually be a sweet soul and I had probably misjudged him for…..

“Hey! A.J, If there will be a next time here, please use a fucking cologne!” Alpha Killan said to me and left.

I take back my words, he is no sweet soul, he is an egomaniac, obnoxious idiot.

“You heard the captain, congratulations, you can display your expertise as a goal scorer.” Gale added sarcastically and walked away too.

If i make this team, I am definitely sending one of these two guys into the infirmary bed on the first match.

But Killian wasn’t wrong, my tampon must have been filled up by now. I need to make a quick change before the next round starts. I made my way towards a narrow path that seemed like would lead somewhere. I was halfway through when someone stopped me and drew me into his embrace.

“I swear, once I make the team fat boy, I will buy you a drink.”

I struggled to disentangle myself from his embrace. The boy enthusiastically removed his helmet and smiled warmly at me.

I scoffed as realization hit me.

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a defenseman, I was told to replace your position.”

I wasn’t wrong about my thought from earlier, that boy Sean wasn’t a total novice. Thanks to the author of this dumb webtoon who probably has a crush on my one night stand in real life. She probably used his features to create the character in front of me as Sean. If I hadn’t come into this webtoon, she must have probably made him win this selection process easily, girls in love are dumb although I wasn’t any different but,

I am definitely not letting that happen!

“We will meet on the ice.” I said coldly and was about to walk out on him but to my surprise, he hugged me again.

“Gosh! Fat people are soft, like a damn pillow.” His head was resting on my chest now.

Impulse overtook me, I pushed him away and head butted the idiot.

Just as idiotic as the original version of him!

“I will always regret that day.” I spat out angrily and walked out on him.

“What day A.J Lowell?”

I scoffed loudly as I walked away, so the idiot remembers my freaking name. I will always regret the day I made out with the real him in my world, but not as much as meeting Gale.

I finally found my way to the toilet, I was baffled,

Should I walk into the male or female restroom?

“If you want to get the girls here, sneaking up on them in the toilet is a terrible idea, just make the team first and I will show you how best to do it.”

The voice was familiar and so was the scent, it was the polite shirtless hottie guy that tested my skate gear earlier. He winked at me and stretched his hand forward.

“I am Josh.”

Damn! Even his smile is seductive.

We shook hands and exchanged goodbyes. I looked around, everywhere was empty but I followed my gut instinct and used the male restroom. I can’t afford to get caught right now.

As I finished up the redress hastily, I made for the ice rink with firm determination, it is either I earn this spot or nobody else does.

Coincidentally, the whistle sounded through and Killian’s arrogant voice yelled through the microphone.

“The second half commences now!”

The air at Moonstone Territory crackled with anticipation as our convoy arrived. Three months pregnant, I felt a rare sense of peace, one hand resting protectively over my slightly rounded belly as I stepped from the car. My wolf, Victoria, purred contentedly within me, sharing my quiet joy. "Luna Victoria!" Several Silvermoon delegates rushed forward, bowing respectfully. "You're radiant today." I smiled, accepting their compliments with a graceful nod. My aura—stronger since my pregnancy—rippled around me in waves of silver light that even humans might have sensed had they been present. "Where is Alpha Michael?" I asked, scanning the gathering crowd. "Already at the ceremonial grounds, Luna," replied a young warrior, his eyes darting away too quickly. Something cold slithered down my spine. Victoria growled softly in my mind, suddenly alert.

The nursery was the only place in the Pack House where the air didn’t feel like it was choking me. It was a small room on the third floor, far away from the Alpha’s luxurious suite—the suite that should have been mine by right, but was currently occupied by a woman who wasn't. "Mama, look," Tommy whispered, holding up a drawing. It was a crude, crayon depiction of a large black wolf standing next to a smaller, golden one. "That's Daddy. And that's me." My heart clenched, a familiar, dull ache that had been my constant companion for seven years. Tommy had never seen Remington’s wolf form up close. My mate, Alpha Remington Stevens, barely looked at our son, let alone shifted for him. To Remington, Tommy was just a reminder of a political shackle he was desperate to break. To me, Tommy was the only reason I was still breathing.

The dress was ivory. Not white — ivory. Apparently there's a difference when you're being mated off to the Alpha of the most powerful pack on the East Coast. I didn't pick it. I didn't pick the flowers, the venue, or the three hundred wolves filling the Ironveil Pack's ceremonial hall like it was some kind of political concert. My mother picked the dress. My father picked the date. And somewhere in between, they picked my entire future without asking me once. But I didn't know that yet. Not at the altar.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, tracing the mate mark on my neck that had brought me nothing but pain for seven years. The mark that should have been a symbol of love and devotion had instead become a brand of rejection. "Luna Elena?" My handmaiden's voice pulled me from my thoughts. "There's news from the pack gathering." I turned, smoothing my expression into the neutral mask I'd perfected over years of public humiliation. "What is it, Lily?" She hesitated, her eyes darting nervously to the door. "The Alpha has purchased an extravagant diamond necklace for Scarlett. It's said to be worth more than our annual pack budget for healing supplies." My stomach clenched. Another gift for his chosen mate, another public declaration of his obsession. "There's more," Lily whispered, stepping closer. "He plans to present it to her at the upcoming pack gathering, in front of all the allied packs." The room seemed to tilt slightly.

The first sensation was smell—antiseptic mixed with something floral and wrong. My eyelids fluttered open, revealing an unfamiliar ceiling. Not my bedroom. Not my packhouse. My fingers twitched against crisp sheets. Hospital sheets. "She's waking up," a voice murmured nearby. "Get the sedative ready." I tried to lift my hand, but my limbs felt like lead. Three years. Three years I'd been lying here, trapped in darkness, while the world continued without me.
