How To Break An Alpha On Ice: His Curved XL Mate

I hate them weak: the heroine of the story. I was one in mine but never again! I had vowed that until I stumbled upon an annoying book. A chubby weak heroine brutally rejected by her mate, the arrogant Alpha. “If I were that Luna, I would make that Alpha beg on his knees—on and off the ice.” I typed bitterly. But the universe mocked me, it made a”bet” with me and the next morning, I woke up in the webtoon as Avri, the weak heroine. Would I truly be able to bend the arrogant Alpha Killian on his knees? Who would win, the universe or I ? What Ancient secret lies between Alpha Killian and i?

Chapter 2

Ava’s POV

“It is time Miss Lowell.”

A tiny feminine voice called from the hallway leading to the room I was in. I jumped up instantly and lost my balance.

“Ouch!”

My butt landed hard on the thick concrete floor.

Time for what? Probably breakfast! Let’s play along Ava, I am fucking famished.

“Avri!” Another voice screamed.

“I will be with you shortly.” I yelled.

I rushed over to the mirror again, disbelief lacing my expression. I checked out my appearance, I was dressed in a cloth that looked like a fucking potato sack and did nothing to flatter my curves. I raised up the dress and marched out of the door. Two females stood there, one looked well polished and the other, not so much.

“Miss Lowell, your sister will walk you down the hall.” One of the ladies said.

I took a look at my supposed sister but she looked away. I nodded my head affirmatively and followed them. The polished lady wore a scowl on her face but she remained silent.

Not that I cared! Isn’t she supposed to be my sister?

We got to the end of the hallway and the other lady dragged open a huge door, I leaned my head inside slowly and my eyes widened, there should be about a hundred people in there.

“Are we having a breakfast party?” I questioned suspiciously.

It was met with silence.

“Good luck Miss Lowell.” The woman said and turned to leave.

I scoffed, why would I need luck to dine?

“Avri, this is our family’s pride, don’t ruin it with your…..”

“What?” I questioned sternly.

“Never mind, let’s go.” She responded curtly.

We walked in, many eyes shifted in our direction. I remembered I was terribly dressed. I felt self aware but I managed to keep it together.

“Walk!” My supposed sister ordered harshly.

“You could as well lift me up like a fucking rag doll.” I responded sharply.”

She was taken aback but remained silent. We gently walked towards a podium. Up front my eyes caught that of a fine specimen of a man. His dark curly hair and playboy diamond shaped face got me mesmerized. As I took each step towards him, my heart fluffed, I wished I could fall and he would pick me up,

Damn Ava! Unfortunately , you aren’t Cinderella right now!

Fuck! I wasn’t even wearing golden shoes nor did I have a fairy godmother.

My supposed sister stopped, “This is as far as I can go, be the bride that you are.”

“Bride? What the hell?”

“Miss Lowell, we are waiting.” A man in a brown suit said calmly.

I lifted up my dress again and rushed towards the podium where that guy sat. He gave me a short look and my heart pounded again but he looked away.

“Alpha killian, it is time.” The brown suit man said to the man.

Alpha killian!

I am certain I knew that name, I looked round the room, the lights were flashing in my face, expectant eyes were on us. My suspicion was turning out to be real, I knew this scenery, Just as it was written, the mahogany door, the crest,

Now it all made sense that….

“I, Alpha Killian of the Silverfang pack, reject Avri Lowell of the Golden Dawn pack.”

Gasps rose in the air. Murmurs followed immediately from the audience.

I scoffed loudly!

This was the part where Avri was supposed to tear up and sob uncontrollably.

My ear picked the words from the crowd:

I knew he was going to reject her!

The moon goddess probably made some kind of mistake with this knot of fate!

Amanda would have been a better fit!

Damn! I remember each spiteful word thrown at Avri right there. Leaving it right now, she must have felt like dying on the spot.

I am definitely changing this part.

I took two steps closer to Alpha Killian who sat proud of his cruelty. I stared into his amber eyes and declared loudly.

“I, Avri Lowell of G…golden Dwarf pack rejects the heck out of you, Alpha Killian of Silverfang pack.” I pointed my finger to his eyes.

Another multitude of gasps rose in the air. I stared challengingly Alpha Killian.

The man in a brown suit rushed up to me and whispered in my ear.

“That is not acceptable Miss Lowell.”

“But is it acceptable that he brutally rejected me?” I shot back.

“He could because he is…”

“The fucking Prince Charming?” I sneered at the man.

I turned around to face Killian.

“Hey you! We are definitely having another face off.” I signed with my fingers to show my challenge.

Killian just stared at me in disbelief. I wasn’t going to say I didn’t like what I saw. He was as perfectly looking as he was in the story.

I knew how this story was supposed to go because I read it. You might be wondering how we got here, now let me help you clear the confusion.

I am Ava Lowell, and here I am, in my worst nightmare, dragged off to the webtoon world by the universe, into the very boring story I hated, and in the body of the weakest female character I have ever known.

I felt a hand dragged me off the stage, so I stopped her. Amanda, Avri’s sister, spoke worriedly.

“You ruined everything Avri! This was supposed to be our family’s pride!”

“Really sister! Aren’t you still sulking that Killian wasn’t your mate?” I said sternly.

Amanda’s countenance dwindled immediately, that made me happy seeing that the bitch gets a taste of her own venom.

I picked up my dress and made it for the food basket at the end of the hall. I picked up some cut white meat and munched hungrily on it. It tasted delicious afterall it was supposed to be my wedding day.

Being rejected by a mate was supposed to be the worse that could happen to a werewolf but not me. I was going to make Alpha Killian regret his decision.

I had just finished munching on the chicken when someone walked up to me. I stood up gauging her face. This part was strange, I couldn't think of it in the novel. Had my actions started to reframe the book?

“Avie.” She called out coldly.

Who is she?

I stood up and made towards her. I was going to ask of her identity but before i could,

“Gbam!”

She landed a smack across my face.

“Ouch! What was that for?” I yelled angrily.

“You are definitely going to die by my hand.” She threatened.

No! This wasn’t a part of the original script. Who the hell was this bitch?

The author is finally flipping the script in my eyes.

Was I truly going to die?

Author's note: Chapter 2 was basically Ava getting rejected, roasting everyone, stealing chicken, and then getting slapped like WiFi that stopped working 😭💀🍗. And honestly? She ate that; literally AND figuratively.”

The air at Moonstone Territory crackled with anticipation as our convoy arrived. Three months pregnant, I felt a rare sense of peace, one hand resting protectively over my slightly rounded belly as I stepped from the car. My wolf, Victoria, purred contentedly within me, sharing my quiet joy. "Luna Victoria!" Several Silvermoon delegates rushed forward, bowing respectfully. "You're radiant today." I smiled, accepting their compliments with a graceful nod. My aura—stronger since my pregnancy—rippled around me in waves of silver light that even humans might have sensed had they been present. "Where is Alpha Michael?" I asked, scanning the gathering crowd. "Already at the ceremonial grounds, Luna," replied a young warrior, his eyes darting away too quickly. Something cold slithered down my spine. Victoria growled softly in my mind, suddenly alert.

The nursery was the only place in the Pack House where the air didn’t feel like it was choking me. It was a small room on the third floor, far away from the Alpha’s luxurious suite—the suite that should have been mine by right, but was currently occupied by a woman who wasn't. "Mama, look," Tommy whispered, holding up a drawing. It was a crude, crayon depiction of a large black wolf standing next to a smaller, golden one. "That's Daddy. And that's me." My heart clenched, a familiar, dull ache that had been my constant companion for seven years. Tommy had never seen Remington’s wolf form up close. My mate, Alpha Remington Stevens, barely looked at our son, let alone shifted for him. To Remington, Tommy was just a reminder of a political shackle he was desperate to break. To me, Tommy was the only reason I was still breathing.

The dress was ivory. Not white — ivory. Apparently there's a difference when you're being mated off to the Alpha of the most powerful pack on the East Coast. I didn't pick it. I didn't pick the flowers, the venue, or the three hundred wolves filling the Ironveil Pack's ceremonial hall like it was some kind of political concert. My mother picked the dress. My father picked the date. And somewhere in between, they picked my entire future without asking me once. But I didn't know that yet. Not at the altar.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, tracing the mate mark on my neck that had brought me nothing but pain for seven years. The mark that should have been a symbol of love and devotion had instead become a brand of rejection. "Luna Elena?" My handmaiden's voice pulled me from my thoughts. "There's news from the pack gathering." I turned, smoothing my expression into the neutral mask I'd perfected over years of public humiliation. "What is it, Lily?" She hesitated, her eyes darting nervously to the door. "The Alpha has purchased an extravagant diamond necklace for Scarlett. It's said to be worth more than our annual pack budget for healing supplies." My stomach clenched. Another gift for his chosen mate, another public declaration of his obsession. "There's more," Lily whispered, stepping closer. "He plans to present it to her at the upcoming pack gathering, in front of all the allied packs." The room seemed to tilt slightly.

The first sensation was smell—antiseptic mixed with something floral and wrong. My eyelids fluttered open, revealing an unfamiliar ceiling. Not my bedroom. Not my packhouse. My fingers twitched against crisp sheets. Hospital sheets. "She's waking up," a voice murmured nearby. "Get the sedative ready." I tried to lift my hand, but my limbs felt like lead. Three years. Three years I'd been lying here, trapped in darkness, while the world continued without me.
