Chapter 3

Carla's POV

He was enjoying almost all the privileges entitled to the Alpha, his dad, when it came to respect and reference from the estate staff to which I wasn't exempted.

"I'm sorry sir but I didn't know you would wake up so early today." I replied. He stared at me for some time with tired eyes before speaking out.

"Just be quick with it, Carla." He said. I nodded and turned back towards the food. He is indifferent and has no human feeling, always feeling like he is the superior being of Alpha stock and we are nothing being Omegas. His brother however wasn't like him, if you got him pissed, he would insult you to the face, being so full of sarcasm and obscene jokes which hurt to the bones. I'd been a victim of this several times in the past, that's why I always strive to avoid him.

"And you have to do my laundry. I have so many unwashed clothes. He added.

"Okay sir." I replied hesitantly although I didn't plan of this being included in my work list today but who am I to object. I would be getting the hardest penance of my life.

"Use your hands to wash it. I don't like most washings from the machine, after all what are you here for. You are here to work and not to enjoy. Stress is part of the work and you can't evade it." He whined out. I raised my head to look at him and I saw his eyes on me. The washing machine doesn't affect his clothes, they just like seeing me suffer. They want me overworked. Now, he wants me to wash his clothes with my hands knowing I have so much work to do. He knows it will slow me down.

"Do you have any opposition to it?" He asked, walking closer to me.

"No, Alpha." I replied, averting my gaze back to the floor.

"Tchh…" He scoffed out loudly. "Then why are you sending daggers at me through your eyes".

"I'm sorry. It won't happen again." I replied, shivering with fear. He stood close to me and sighed frustratedly.

"Look at me." I raised my head to look at him. Defying his rules may attract anger.

He raised his hands up and pointed it upstairs. "You will wash my clothes with your hands." He said, smirking. I nodded as he made his way out of the kitchen. My legs shook and I found it difficult to move. I sighed heavily and leaped towards the counter. I leaned on it and sighed in relief. Just three months to go. Three months.

I walked out with the plates and spoons and set them on the table. He and his brother, Sebastian, were already seated. I had no escapade this time around, I had to meet with his brother, Sebastian who always made me cringe and freak out with the words of his mouth. I wonder if he didn't realize I'm a human with feelings, and reactions when treated badly. He was pressing his phone not acknowledging my presence while Nessian was eager for me to serve the food. He was really hungry. No wonder he woke up early.

I walked out of the kitchen with the food in my hand as I leaped towards the dining. My knee hasn't healed yet and I am feeling the pain. The early morning work made me feel the pain more. I leaped towards the dining and stood beside Sebastian. I felt a compressed pain on my feet. I screamed and moved away, dropping the food in the process. It fell on the table and tumbled over to the floor. Sebastian hurriedly stood up and moved away from the table. He stepped on me. He stepped on my wounds.

I leaped away from there and stared at the mess I created. My eyes ran over Nessian as he looked at me with devilish eyes. I'm doomed!

"Why are you so careless like a freaking rat, have you realized that you do things like an animal without instinct? How dare you be so careless in front of your Alphas." Sebastian screamed at me and picked up the plate of soup pouring it all over me. I shut my eyes tight as I didn't want the soup to get into my eye. He pushed me and I staggered over. I held the chair for support.

Immediately, I felt a sound close to my ear with an excruciating pain followed by it. I whiffed in the perfume and knew it was Nessian. Nessian slapped me. I groaned in pain and broke down in tears. I slumped to the ground.

"Fuck!" Nessian exclaimed after slapping me. "I've been waiting for food and you dropped it at the last minute, you lazy asshole." He cursed at me.

I knew he was angry at the moment. His anger was always more than Sebastian's own even though Sebastian nags me more than he does.

"Bro, let's go out and eat. We can buy something from the mall, it wouldn't take long. Let's leave this idiot named Carla to her foolishness, one day she will learn the hard way." Sebastian said. I wiped the soup away with my dress and opened my eyes. "Your remaining three months here will be more hellish than this, I promise you!" He looked me in the face and sneered. I shivered in horror knowing no joke was meant. He pulled Nessian along and they walked out not without Nessian sparing me a hateful look. I gasped as tears fell freely from my eyes.

I've tried! I tried my best.

**THREE MONTHS LATER**

I scrubbed the kitchen floor and in no time it was sparkling clean. I cleared all the dishes and took care of the kitchen before heading to the laundry. I packed up the clothes and walked towards the washing machine. I turned it on and began my laundry. After two days, I will be out of here. I will be out of this Hell on Earth. After two days, it will be my birthday and the day I will leave this house.

The crystal glasses clinked as I arranged them carefully on the silver tray. Each one had to be perfectly positioned, not a drop of champagne spilled. Head Omega Theresa's voice cracked like a whip behind me. "Faster, Omega! The guests will be arriving soon, and you're still dawdling with the drinks." I kept my eyes lowered, the way an Omega should. "Yes, ma'am." My shoulder throbbed where Kameron had grabbed me yesterday, demanding I polish Melissa's ceremonial crown until I could see my reflection in it. The bruise was probably purple by now, but I couldn't check. There wasn't time. "The Alpha wants everything perfect for his precious Melissa," Theresa continued, her thin lips curling in what might have been jealousy or contempt. "And you'll make sure it is, or you'll answer to me." I nodded silently, lifting the heavy tray.

The autumn breeze carried the scent of roasted venison across the forest clearing, making my stomach growl painfully. I shifted on the rough mossy log where I sat, trying to ignore the gnawing hunger as I picked at the cold scraps on my wooden plate—leftovers from yesterday's hunt that had been deemed unworthy of the main feast. Around me, the Silverpine Pack celebrated in full swing. Warriors laughed boisterously, families shared platters of steaming food, and pups chased each other through the fallen leaves. No one spared a glance at the lone figure on the outskirts of their joy. After eight years, they'd grown accustomed to my place in the shadows. 'Look at this spread, Marcus! You've outdone yourself.' Amanda's voice sliced through my mind like a blade, her words broadcasting through the pack mind-link. I flinched, nearly dropping my plate as vivid images flooded my consciousness—a private table laden with succulent meats, fresh fruits, and wine in crystal glasses. The Alpha's quarters transformed into a romantic haven with candles and flower petals.
