Chapter 1

Carla's POV

I wriggled on the bed in pain and kept cursing to myself. The room smelt of blood and foul odor. I should take care of my room tomorrow. I hardly have time for myself without taking care of my room. My room looks more like a cell, a dungeon. It is at the far end of the corner of the mansion, upstairs. A small bed was placed beside a wall and the size of the room wasn't big like the typical rich rooms. A toilet, not so fashionable, was in the room.

It's obvious that this place wasn't built for a room initially but for a cell for prisoners. I've been living in this room for ten years and it's part of me. I made sure it's always clean to get rid of any foul odors. The odor was due to how not so ventilated the room is. It has a small window facing the garden. The room was always hot in the afternoon and warm during the cold.

I've been an Omega maid in the Smith's mansion, the residence of the Alpha and Luna for eight years. I was sold by my aunt when I was ten years old to the Smith's. The Alpha and Luna needed someone to work for them as a domestic maid for a one-time payment and it must be a child who would go up to get used to the environment she found herself. They didn't want an adult because such wouldn't accept a one-time payment but monthly salary which they might have seen as a liability to them. I was traded for money by a greedy aunt. My parents died when I was a baby so I know nothing of them nor do I remember anything about them, I haven't been told by my aunt before. I spent my childhood with my aunt before I was sold to the Smith's. I was treated as an outcast in my aunt's house likewise here. My life has been hell here. They treat me like trash because I'm a maid. An ordinary maid. They do not fail to remind me that I am an ordinary maid and not up to their standard.

I've been cleaning and taking care of the entire estate for years likewise cooking. I clean their rooms and wash their toilets and I could swear that their rooms are bigger than mine. I live in a cell. A typical prison! I do the dishes and laundry. The work of thousands of maids was given to me!

I bit my lips as I held tears from falling. I know I've been strong, been strong for too long and I will keep being strong. I broke a plate today while cooking and I got the beating of my life from my mistress. This is not the first time I have gotten beatings and I know it won't be the last.

I raised my upper body up sluggishly and pulled out the first aid box from under the bed. I saved up for it and I got it for myself prior to the fact that I get injured everyday by them. I opened it and started cleaning up my wounds. Cleaning it up made me remember how I got beaten by her. My mistress took some of the broken pieces of plates and tore my skin with it. She injured me with it as her sons kept laughing at me while adding fuel to the fire.

My mistress has two sons, Nessian Smith and Sebastian Smith who bear the title of Alpha Princes since they are directly linked to the current Alpha King. Their dad, who's the king's uncle, played a major leading role in the country and they would take up the position from their father soon. One thing is keeping them, they haven't found a mate. Though they will find one single mate for both of them, only one will end up marrying her while the other will go for a chosen mate.

We are the model pack for all the werewolves, established in person by the moon goddess, hence we have stricter laws that others don't have. One of such laws is that identical siblings, especially in the case of guys might have a collaborative sexual affair with the fated mate the moon goddess gives them, but when it reaches the time to claim, only one which is chosen by the she-wolf will claim her and make her his wife alongside his mate. This might take from a few months to years, depending on certain conditions that take place before the girl finally decides.

They are twins, Nessian comes first while Sebastian comes second. They are twenty-one years old. Both Alphas are young billionaire heirs, right. Yeah, young billionaires but rude and grumpy.

They both make sure I have no happy moments in this house. They hate seeing me happy and always want to ruin my mood.

I won't deny the fact that they are both hotties. When I got sold here at ten years old, they were eleven then and they were so cute. Now, they grew up well but they hate seeing me. Nessian has charming blue eyes with a manly physique. It's rare, almost impossible not to love his dark curly wavy hair and I always imagine myself running my hands through it. Sebastian is the same as Nessian as they are identical, very identical. But Sebastian taunts me more than Nessian. Sometimes, Nessian ignores me like I don't exist but Sebastian doesn't let anything pass. I dislike them both as they all made life tiring and hellish for me. Even though they are so cute, I named them the handsome Devils!

The contract between the luna, Georgia and my aunt was to let me go by eight years. I would be eighteen in three months time and nothing could explain how happy I am. Staring at my wounds, as I recalled that I would leave here in three months time, a smile found its way to my lips. I want to get out of this hell.

My family framed me for corporate espionage, and my uncle told me I was dead to them. So I obliged. I faked my own death and built a new life as Elia Parker, a successful architect married to a tech mogul. But after five years, my past refused to stay buried. My cousin found me at my own grave and dragged me to a public event, parading me around like a ghost. My uncle, who left me to rot in a hospital, feigned shock. My aunt shrieked that I was a monster for faking my death. Then she lunged, her nails raking across my cheek and drawing blood. "You ungrateful bitch!" she screamed. As I stood there bleeding, my so-called family just watched, not one of them moving to help. It was the same cold indifference that had destroyed me five years ago. Just as I was about to break, a voice cut through the chaos, quiet but radiating power. "Is everything alright here, Elia?" It was my husband, Javier Bates. And the look on his face told me their world was about to burn.

The crystal glasses clinked as I arranged them carefully on the silver tray. Each one had to be perfectly positioned, not a drop of champagne spilled. Head Omega Theresa's voice cracked like a whip behind me. "Faster, Omega! The guests will be arriving soon, and you're still dawdling with the drinks." I kept my eyes lowered, the way an Omega should. "Yes, ma'am." My shoulder throbbed where Kameron had grabbed me yesterday, demanding I polish Melissa's ceremonial crown until I could see my reflection in it. The bruise was probably purple by now, but I couldn't check. There wasn't time. "The Alpha wants everything perfect for his precious Melissa," Theresa continued, her thin lips curling in what might have been jealousy or contempt. "And you'll make sure it is, or you'll answer to me." I nodded silently, lifting the heavy tray.

The autumn breeze carried the scent of roasted venison across the forest clearing, making my stomach growl painfully. I shifted on the rough mossy log where I sat, trying to ignore the gnawing hunger as I picked at the cold scraps on my wooden plate—leftovers from yesterday's hunt that had been deemed unworthy of the main feast. Around me, the Silverpine Pack celebrated in full swing. Warriors laughed boisterously, families shared platters of steaming food, and pups chased each other through the fallen leaves. No one spared a glance at the lone figure on the outskirts of their joy. After eight years, they'd grown accustomed to my place in the shadows. 'Look at this spread, Marcus! You've outdone yourself.' Amanda's voice sliced through my mind like a blade, her words broadcasting through the pack mind-link. I flinched, nearly dropping my plate as vivid images flooded my consciousness—a private table laden with succulent meats, fresh fruits, and wine in crystal glasses. The Alpha's quarters transformed into a romantic haven with candles and flower petals.
