Chapter 4

The bedroom door opened, Anne was surprised to see Valerie lying on the floor unconscious, Valerie's plain body made her cover it with a blanket. Until Anna realized, fresh blood came out of Valerie's wrist.

Anna screams for help, immediately taking Valerie to the hospital.

"This woman is really stupid, why hurt her! Mr. James, you will definitely be very angry, your life will never be free, Valerie!" Anna growled. Didn't expect Valerie to dare end her life.

James gets a report that Valerie is trying to end her life, making James laugh out loud. The cruel man felt no pity or even pity. James actually became increasingly interested in Valerie, because he dared to go that far, daring to challenge her.

Unlike the other women in his arms, they actually compete to become James' favorite woman, who will be given luxury so that her life will be happy. Valerie didn't want that, maybe it never even crossed her mind to become James' favorite woman.

"What kind of person are you, Valerie?" growled James. "How are things now?"

"Still critical, but luckily still salvageable," explains James' secretary, Leon.

"Make sure the woman lives, if she has to die, it has to go through my own hands!" James said, smiling with his grin.

"Mr James..." said Leon, as if hesitant to say what he had gotten, information.

"What, say!"

"Sorry, I was still investigating before. Some are looking for Miss Valerie's whereabouts, even Lukas-Valerie's stepfather, who was captured by them," obviously Leon made James smile.

"Looking for my woman? Who is that person? police?" James asked in succession.

"I don't think so, but I'm sure they're not ordinary people, because the information is difficult to trace," explained Leon later.

James laughed, scaring Leon, because he knew James was a cruel man who could do whatever he wanted. James' laughter, not something good.

"Valerie... who are you really, who are they, do you want to take you from me? will never happen!" growled James. "Leon, we're going to the hospital!"

In hospital...

Vale opened his eyes slowly, he blinked his eyes, seeing himself he found himself in the hospital.

"James..." The man wouldn't let go, he hurt her, and then healed her.

"I got a chance to live?" Valerie said softly, now she feels she has to take advantage of this opportunity.

Valerie then realized that the hospital was a place that had many gaps so she could escape. Vale hopes he can do that, he can get the opportunity to be free from James.

There was the sound of steps entering her treatment room, making Valerie quickly close her eyes again.

"How is it?" James asked Anna who was in charge of looking after Valerie.

"Luckily, the glass scratches weren't that deep, sir.  Moreover, Miss Valerie's body was already weak, almost no nutrients entered her body. Everything will be fine," explained Anna, James nodded his head.

"Take care of him, don't run away," said James firmly. "Don't let anyone else into this room, without my permission. Call me when he comes to his senses!" James orders Anna.

Before actually leaving, James looked at Valerie with an intractable look, a feeling of anger, possession and something even darker. But what is certain is that now James doesn't want Valerie to leave him.

"Who is looking for you, Vale? Are you in contact with other people? your family?" James asked confusedly. "Whatever it is, you will never leave me, you have to remember that, Valerie!" James left the room, letting Valerie heal him.

Anna heard James' words, feeling confused, because what she knew was that Vale no longer had a family, Lukas– Valerie's stepfather was no longer even visible, and it was impossible to find Valerie. Then who is looking for Valerie?

Likewise with Valerie, in her silence, she felt confused. Why is anyone looking for it?

"Who, who is looking for me?" Valerie whispered, asking in her heart.

Valerie didn't want to worry about that at first, because for her it was better to find a way to escape from James, free from that cruel man. Valerie hopes there will be a way to escape from the hospital, with the care given by James.

The room suddenly fell silent, only the sound of a machine close to Valerie was heard, and a heavy sigh from Anna, sighed in annoyance.

"This woman is really troublesome. Why didn't he accept his destiny, because James himself would definitely give him luxury. But instead you choose to fight and die, until in the end you will truly become his prisoner," said Anna, not thinking about Valerie.

"Accept, luxury? I don't want to just be his satisfaction!" vale thought. "I'd better die!"

Vale waited a long time, until the opportunity came, a nurse entered the room to replace Vale's infusion bottle which was almost finished. Anna is seen even coming out of the room to meet two bodyguards.

Valerie smiled, because now God was on her side. Valerie begged the nurse to help her.

"Help me, I beg you... Please help me get out of the hospital..." said Vale whispering a little to the nurse, his gaze filled with hope, getting help from her.

But, the nurse just kept quiet, she didn't answer Valerie's request.

"Please, help me get out of here!" Vale said again.

The nurse stared flatly at Valerie, without answering, she chose to just leave after she finished changing the IV bottle.

Vale sighed in annoyance, but then he quickly closed his eyes again, Anna approached him again, checking on Valerie's condition.

"Why is this woman still closing her eyes!" annoyed Anna.

Not long after, the nurse came back with a doctor, saying that Valerie had to undergo another examination, because until now Valerie had not regained consciousness.

The doctor and nurse were worried that Anna would suspect them, but in the end Anna agreed to let Valerie be examined again.

Valerie was taken by them under tight guard, and Anna followed her from behind. Until they arrived at the examination room, Anna and the other bodyguards were prohibited from entering.

"Sorry Miss, for convenience, only patients come inside," said the doctor.

"I have to look after him!" Anna said sarcastically, she couldn't let Valerie go free without her supervision.

"Just trust us, Miss. This patient will be fine, the examination will not take long. This has become our hospital procedure. "Hopefully Miss can understand," said the nurse, reassuring Anna.

Anna was forced to let them take Valerie into the examination room without her supervision. He faithfully waited in front of the room, until Valeria had finished being examined, without feeling the slightest suspicion.

While in the room, the nurse smiled at the doctor, and he took off his mask. Staring at Valerie who was still closing her eyes.

"Open your eyes, Miss you are safe," said the nurse, whispering slightly.

Valerie opened her eyes slowly, making sure there were no of James' men, and she didn't fall into the trap again.

"I thought you wouldn't help me," said Valerie, realizing the nurse was helping her.

"Don't worry Miss Vale, your rescue was planned," said the nurse to Valerie's surprise.

"What? planned, by whom?" Valerie asked surprised.

The nurse just smiled. "Miss will know when we get out of here, it's better now to change clothes first, to get out of here before they know it."

With great confusion Valerie was forced to obey the nurse's words, trying to trust them if she would help her. Without lingering, they changed her clothes, Valerie followed all the instructions from the nurse.

They planned everything neatly, without any fuss that would disturb the people in the hospital. Valerie sat in a wheelchair, helped by pushing by the woman's nurse, who had changed her clothes, as well as the doctor.

Valerie, along with the two people who helped her, walked out the other door, with great care.

Until Anna and the two bodyguards did not realize Valerie's departure.

Valerie was eventually released from the hospital and free from James, she was seen smiling happily.

"Thank you for helping me," said Valerie sincerely.

""This is our job, Miss. Me, Merry, and this is Beni," he said introducing himself while pointing at the man next to him.

"Valerie," replied Valerie also introduced herself, but Valerie still felt confused by them as if they were responsible for saving her. Meanwhile, Merry and Beni just smiled when they saw Valerie's confusion.

Behind Valerie's freedom, James is furious when he finds out that Anna and her bodyguard lost Valerie.

"Fuck! Whatever you do, just looking after one person is incompetent!" James was very angry when he heard the report that Valerie was not found anywhere, in every corner of the hospital.

Valerie manages to escape, freed from it. James couldn't accept it.

Anna lowered her head, afraid and very guilty. "Sorry, sir, I think Miss Vale is really under examination."  Anna really felt that she had been fooled by a nurse and a fake doctor who helped Valerie escape.

"Search! look for that woman, look until you get it, I don't want to know, you have to bring her to me as soon as possible!" James ordered.

James was very angry, he didn't want the woman he bought to run away from him, especially since Valerie was a woman who quite impressed him with different behavior from other women. Valerie fights him, but it becomes a challenge for him, to be able to make him submit to her.

James then remembered someone who was looking for Valerie. But unfortunately James hasn't received any information about who they are looking for.

The man was very annoyed, because this was the first time he had difficulty finding the information he wanted. People who are looking for Valerie seem mysterious so it is difficult to find out who they are. Because of this, James became increasingly curious about Valerie and who was behind her.

James had also tried to find Lukas' whereabouts, because he thought that Lukas would definitely know the information he needed. But unfortunately, James couldn't find Luke anywhere, he even heard that Luke had been taken by several men in black suits, with bodies full of wounds, by those who were looking for Valerie.

"Who are they, what is your relationship with them, Valerie?" growled James.

"How can you smile like that when neither of your fathers are here at your own wedding reception?" Pond asked, eyeing Dunk, who stood in the gallery, smiling towards his newly-wedded husband. Dunk's smile didn't waver, but his eyes darkened. He turned to Pond, voice sharp, "Do you think I don't care? That I'd go against them on purpose?" Pond responded without hesitation, "Aren't you doing exactly that?" "No, I'm not," Dunk snapped. His voice dropped lower, colder. "I'm standing here for my pride-the same pride he crushed. I'm not a child who goes crying to his parents. He destroyed me, P'Pond. Now it's my turn. I'm going to destroy his life-completely." Pond looked shaken. "You can't marry someone for revenge, Dunk. I told you-I'm here for you. I'll never let anyone from the Guthithanan family hurt you again." Dunk's voice cracked as he exploded, "But he crossed the line that night!" He scanned the room and quickly pulled Pond into a quieter corner. His voice was low and furious. "He shattered everything I had. And now, with this marriage, I'm going to make him live with the consequences. He's trapped with me now-forever. I won't let him walk away so easily." His gaze flicked across the room-directly to Joong, who stood beside Sarawat, calmly speaking to a business partner. Joong caught Dunk's stare and instinctively looked his way. Dunk raised his champagne glass with a mocking smile. A toast to war. Joong clenched his jaw, returning the gesture coolly-but his burning eyes slid to Pond, full of rage and warning.
