After We Collided: Bound by a deal Chapter 1
Bella buried her head on her pillow as tears threatened to fall. She looked at her phone screen and a sigh of tiredness and frustration gripped her.
"We regret to inform you..."
"Again" she murmured under her breath
"You were rejected again ?" Her mom walked in holding a cup of water as she handed it over to her poor child who was sulking who sat sulking on the bed.
"Mom ... but my essays are good. I aced the exams. How on earth do they keep rejecting my application to study at Elite College?" Bella struggled hard trying to make sure she doesn't cry in front of her mom
"Mom won't I get a chance to go to school? Can't I chase after my dreams and the things that matter to me?"
Her tears dropped and her mother's face filled with worry, wrapped her arms around her.
" I am sorry, baby. They don't know what you possess, you're a big star no one can ever compete with. These rich kids used privilege and influence to find their way into these schools, and that's what's giving you all these rejections" her mother explained, trying to comfort her.
Bella !!!!!?????"
Seventeen years old Emily ran into the room, giggling and jumping around swinging her phone left and right, the sadness on Bella's face disappeared and was replaced with burning rage and anger
"What is wrong with you ??" She scrunched her face in irritation.
"Bella you just got into NYC!" Emily screamed, shoving her phone forward her eyes lit up with excitement
Bella looked at her mom, then back at Emily in confusion before grabbing the phone. On the phone screen was an email from NYC congratulating her on gaining a full scholarship to study at the university.

NYC University.
Bella's heart skipped. She couldn't believe her eyes. She turned back to look at Emily her expression demanding an explanation on what she just saw
"Okay fine before your creepy eyes tear me apart let me spill the tea" Emily smiled as she threw her phone on the bed sat down in front of her speechless mother and sister
"I've watched Bella cry her eyes out countless times because she kept getting countless rejections from different universities and then one evening I decided to check through her phone I found a pattern these school weren't even opening the applications at all
They were tossing it over and checking out the application of those rich kids who have bribed their way in with money so I decided to do something crazy and I didn't tell Bella because I know she'd disapprove
So all the time I told you guys I was having a sleep over at May's place it was all a lie. I was always going to New York. I personally photocopied Bella's application and I went to submit it myself and ........"
Bella stopped her from talking and threw her into a hug "I love you I love you I love you" her voice broke as tears poured down
Emily smiled sheepishly her mom stared in shock no words coming out
"So I have a chance to study in New York mom" Bella hugged her mom tightly
"Yes baby all thanks to your fearless sister" her mom smiled
"If only your father was here he'd see how much his smart girls have all grown I am so proud of you, my children," her mom whispered
THE VALE MANSION
"Your younger brother will be returning from England soon, he already has a girlfriend, someone he's ready to marry. And you the heir to my empire you're still roaming around with nothing to show for it "
"Dad it's my choice to remain single, or better yet, I haven't found a woman who suits my taste," Benson snapped, grabbing a glass of water from the table and gulping it down.
The Vale family was the richest in the country. Mr Vale had invested his entire life in real estate and built an empire worth trillions. He was married to Nancy, and they had only two sons - Benson, the heir to the Vale real estate empire, and his younger brother Michael who had spent most of his life studying abroad And this was why Benson was constantly pressured to get married.
Mr Vale was at the point of retiring from his business and wanted his eldest and most arrogant son to take over everything he had spent his entire life building, but only on one condition: Benson had to get married first. Benson who had no interest in getting married found this entire arrangement suffocating
He was sick and tired of his parents' constant pressure on him to get married, and he decided to move to one of the mansions they own in the countryside to get his peace back.
He was still a final year university student in business administration so why all this pressure ? But the old man was growing weaker.
"Then why not get married to Angella?"
"What!!!!" Benson choked on water as he stared at his mother, who just walked out of the kitchen holding a bowl of pasta- his favorite meal.
"I am a serious sweetheart. You've known Angella all your life, You both were childhood love birds. Bringing her into the family would benefit your father's company"
"Mom, Enough! I can never marry Angella!". His voice echoed
"What??!" Angella's voice cracked from the kitchen door way as she stood there broken
"Angella?" Benson muttered.

In the roaring flames of the abandoned warehouse, my skin blistered and peeled.
Through the crackling fire, my sister Elara's malicious voice echoed. She told me my husband, Damien, was dead, and it was all my fault.
For years, I had treated Damien like a monster. I fought him, threw tantrums, and desperately tried to escape our marriage, all because I blindly followed Elara's advice.
"Remember, the harder you fight, the more disgusted he'll get."
She texted me things like that, telling me to smash vases over his head and run away, claiming she was protecting me.
In reality, she was poisoning my mind, stealing my valedictorian spot at university, and plotting to crawl into my billionaire husband's bed.
My foolish rebellion cost me everything, ultimately leading to Damien's tragic death and my own fiery end.
As the massive explosion tore my consciousness to shreds, I finally understood who truly loved me and who the real monster was.
I died suffocating on my own agonizing regret, wishing I could tear Elara apart.
Then, a rush of freezing air punched into my lungs.
I opened my eyes to the crisp scent of cedar and mint. I was back seven years ago, on the very night our marriage was supposed to go to hell.
This time, looking at Damien's flawless, unscarred face, I didn't push him away.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and made a silent vow: I would make every single person who ever hurt him bleed.

My husband, Bennett, and I were New York's golden couple. But our perfect marriage was a lie, childless because of a rare genetic condition he claimed would kill any woman who carried his baby. When his dying father demanded an heir, Bennett proposed a solution: a surrogate.
The woman he chose, Aria, was a younger, more vibrant version of me. Suddenly, Bennett was always busy, supporting her through "difficult IVF cycles." He missed my birthday. He forgot our anniversary.
I tried to believe him, until I overheard him at a party. He confessed to his friends that his love for me was a "deep connection," but with Aria, it was "fire" and "exhilarating."
He was planning a secret wedding with her in Lake Como, at the same villa he'd promised me for our anniversary.
He was giving her a wedding, a family, a life—all the things he denied me, using a lie about a deadly genetic condition as his excuse. The betrayal was so complete it felt like a physical shock.
When he came home that night, lying about a business trip, I smiled and played the part of the loving wife.
He didn't know I'd heard everything.
He didn't know that while he was planning his new life, I was already planning my escape.
And he certainly didn't know I had just made a call to a service that specialized in one thing: making people disappear.

I was tracing the gold paint on my own tombstone when a hand tapped me on the shoulder.
It was Clayton.
The same man who, five years ago, had left me bleeding out in a ditch because he didn't want to be late for my sister's engagement party.
"Die quietly, Ivy," he had said over the phone before hanging up.
Now, standing over my grave, he dropped his cheap plastic flowers in shock.
"Ivy? You're... we buried you."
They hadn't buried me.
They had buried an empty box to save face, mourning a "troubled" daughter they had actually discarded like broken trash the moment I became a liability.
Clayton's shock quickly turned to that familiar, arrogant anger.
He accused me of faking my death for attention.
He told me I was sick for putting the family through such pain.
He even reached out to grab my arm, intending to drag me back to my father to apologize.
"You're coming with me," he spat. "You owe us an explanation."
But he made a fatal mistake.
He thought he was talking to Ivy Dillard, the soft girl who cried when she skinned her knees.
He didn't notice the town car waiting at the curb, or the man stepping out of it.
Before Clayton's fingers could graze my coat, a hand made of steel caught his wrist.
Collin Richardson, the most feared Capo in Chicago, stepped between us.
"Touch my wife again," Collin whispered, his voice promising violence. "And you lose the hand."
I smiled at the terror draining the color from Clayton's face.
I didn't come back from the dead to explain myself.
I came back to bury them.

To keep her grandmother on life support, Aracely was blackmailed into taking Evelyn's place in the pitch-black bedroom of the ruthless billionaire, Brennen Levine.
After that night, Evelyn tossed a hideous silicone scar at her feet, forcing Aracely to glue it to her face and work as a bottom-tier maid in his estate so he would never recognize her.
Brennen, suffering from chronic insomnia, was completely addicted to the sweet gardenia scent of the woman from the dark. But when he saw the "disfigured" Aracely scrubbing floors, he was physically repulsed, publicly humiliating her and calling her a monster.
Meanwhile, Evelyn paraded around as his soon-to-be wife. Terrified of her lies unraveling, Evelyn constantly abused Aracely, throwing scalding coffee at her face and threatening to pull the plug on her grandmother if Aracely didn't sneak back into Brennen's room to act as his human sleeping pill.
Aracely endured the suffocating fake scar, the insults, and the freezing servant quarters. She ground her teeth, swallowing the bitter injustice just to keep her only family alive, wondering when this torturous hell would ever end.
But Evelyn's malice knew no bounds. When Evelyn raised her hand to strike again, threatening to rip off the very disguise she forced Aracely to wear, something inside Aracely finally snapped.
"Do not push me."
Aracely locked her hand around Evelyn's wrist in a bone-crushing grip, completely unaware that Brennen was watching from the balcony above, his dark eyes narrowing as a dangerous realization hit him.

For years, Elara Park endured being called "half-breed" and "weak blood" at pack meetings. Because she was a hybrid wolf, she trusted Zack Blackwood's sweet promises.
Then he rejected their fated mate bond moments after claiming her body.
Before she could even breathe through the soul-crushing agony, the news was already celebrating his engagement to her vindictive stepsister, Selina. The headlines gushed about their "perfect pureblooded union."
Her mother's call came like a final blow: "Elara, you're twenty-three now. It's time you contributed to the family."
Marry the worthless second son of a prominent Alpha family or lose her father's empire forever. They had her trapped, ready to steal her birthright and leave her powerless.

Elara went to the arranged meeting at the city's most exclusive club, determined to turn her mother's matchmaking scheme to her advantage. She would agree to marriage-but on her own terms.
When she found who she believed was Damian Sterling in the private suite, she cut straight to business: a contract marriage with clear boundaries, separate lives, and a guaranteed escape route.
