Escape from My Mate's Test-Tube Lie

Escape from My Mate's Test-Tube Lie

I endured years of betrayal by my mate Logan-he used me as a vessel for his ex Olivia's test-tube pup, let Olivia's brother harm me, and let my mom die by pulling healers for Olivia. Devastated, I plotted escape with Logan's rival Ryan: fake my death, end the pregnancy, and take half his company. After faking suicide at sea, I started over as "Anna" in Nithoria, finding a new family with Sally, her son Anthony, and their adopted daughter Beth. Logan, discovering the truth, chased me to apologize, but I rejected him.

Chapter 3

I wake up, my bandaged forehead throbbing dully. My hand drifts to my slightly swollen belly. I yank out the IV and stumble out of the room. Passing the stairwell, I freeze at the sound of Logan's best friend, the hospital's deputy director, hissing at him. "Logan, Olivia just had a low blood sugar spell, and you ditched Sophie to play hero! You know if she'd gotten here thirty minutes later, that pup in her belly would've been lost!" "Have you fallen for Olivia? Have you forgotten how the Grants destroyed the Ramirez pack? Do you even care about Sophie?" Logan's tall frame looms in the shadows, the glowing tip of his cigarette flickering. His dark eyes narrow. "I can't let Olivia go. She's the pup's real mother." His voice is so cold it chills me to the bone. "I love Sophie, but Olivia's loved me for eight years. She was young and reckless back then, sure, but the Grants are bankrupt now. She's paid her price." "And Olivia's not trying to steal Sophie's place. I've given Sophie the title of my mate, the power, the status. Letting Olivia's pup be my heir? That's fair." His friend stammers, "So that's why you ordered the healers to scrape Sophie's womb five times before the test-tube procedure? To make sure any miscarriage would cause a hemorrhage, maybe even cost her her womb? So she'd have no choice but to carry the pup, even if she learned the truth?" Another brutal truth rips through my already shattered heart. I stand rooted, my mind blank. I didn't know Logan had blocked every escape route I had left. I tremble with rage, ready to storm in and confront him, but his next words stop me cold. "Sophie won't leave me." His lips curve into a smug, obsessive smirk. "Her mom's gone. I'm her last family in this world. And unless I'm dead, I'll never let her go." A chill races from my toes to my scalp. Logan's not just ruthless-he's unhinged. I have to play dumb and slip away quietly. I force myself back to my room, just as a nurse comes to change my bandages. "Ma'am, your wound's stopped bleeding, but we need a CT scan to be sure." I nod, not thinking much of it. She leads me to the MRI room, but as soon as I lie down, she straps me to the table. Before I can react, she shoves a wad of gauze in my mouth and slides me into the machine's tight, dark tunnel. Then she walks out. My heart sinks. Something's wrong. I thrash, trying to scream, but the gauze muffles me. I hear her lock the door and warn others the room's under maintenance, off-limits. I'm alone in the dim, cavernous space. Claustrophobia claws at me, wrapping me in suffocating dread. My bound body shakes, sweat soaking my skin. It's like I'm back in high school, when Olivia and her pack stripped me, doused me in filthy slop, and locked me in a metal coffin in the school's basement biology lab for three days and nights. That trauma left me with crippling claustrophobia. Four years ago, Logan spent half our savings on a therapist to pull me out of that nightmare. Now, I'm trapped again, my breaths shallow, my body drenched in sweat. The pain in my abdomen flares, and a humiliating urge to pee overwhelms me. Seventeen hours later, a suspicious night-shift healer finally unlocks the door and frees me.

7.1
The captain is dead to the world. And I'm the only one holding the kill switch. Ethan Carter, the "Glacier of Silvercrest," was the most feared Alpha to ever step onto the ice. Now, he's nothing but a shell-a broken, comatose legend trapped in his own body. My life? It was supposed to be simple. Graduate, survive the pack's bottom-tier status, and pay off my father's ruinous blood-debts. Instead, the pack elders handed me a contract soaked in cold, hard malice: I am the designated "Stabilizer." My only job is to touch him, scent him, and keep his wolf from flatlining. I thought I was just a glorified nurse. I didn't realize the Alpha was listening. When Ethan finally wakes, he isn't the hero the Kingdom of Valeria remembers. He's a starving predator with amber eyes that burn holes through my defenses and a temperament that makes the frost in the mansion seem warm. He hates the bargain, he hates the pack, and-most dangerously-he hates the way his scent turns wild whenever I'm near. He wants me out of his sight. I want to be out of his reach. But in a pack built on secrets, someone is still trying to finish the job they started on his life. Now, the man who wants me gone is the only one who can protect me. And as the rink turns into a battlefield, I'm realizing the most dangerous thing about the Alpha isn't his temper... it's the fact that once he claims a mate, he doesn't know how to let go. Frozen hearts are meant to shatter. But in the fire of this pack, we're both going to burn.
My Montana Escape: A New Beginning

The cool metal of the gurney is the last thing I'll remember. One more session, the doctor said, and the past ten years of my life will be wiped clean. It all comes back to that night. I walked in to find my fiancé, Alex, kissing my half-sister, Kalie-the girl I raised since she was fifteen. When I confronted them, Kalie shoved me. I hit my head on a steel model, bleeding on the floor of the studio we designed together. But Alex didn't rush to me. He rushed to comfort her. She lied, painting me as the attacker. My best friend, my entire world, turned against me. Alex, my Alex, had me committed, signing the papers that subjected me to brutal, punitive electroshock treatments. He wasn't just erasing my memory; he was erasing me, punishing me for a crime I didn't commit, all to protect her. Now, waking from the final, consensual treatment, I find a note I left for myself. It's a plan. Sell the firm. Sell the house. Disappear to Montana. And this time, I won't just be erasing the memories. I'll be erasing them.
Reborn to Refuse The Lord
7.9
I came with a mission to kill the Lord of the empire, Mark. "Lara, I am pleased with you." Fireworks bloomed above us as I looked down at Mark kneeling on one knee. The dagger hidden in my sleeve almost slipped from my grasp. "Are you willing to marry me as my wife, from now on, for a lifetime?" "Yes." The system's alarm rang sharply in my mind, urging me to complete my mission, but I still chose to move forward without hesitation. Reality, however, was far crueler than I expected. "Lara, as Mark's wife, you must not leave the palace for three years and, when the time comes, gracefully step down." "Okay," I answered lightly, just as I had agreed to his proposal. That night, flames swallowed my courtyard, the fire blazing high enough to erase everything I had endured. I thought it was my end. But when I opened my eyes, I was back to the day he proposed. The same fireworks. The same man on one knee. Only this time, Mark's eyes were filled with tears as he held my hand and whispered, "Lara, don't go."
Rejected Omega: Rising As The True Luna
8.3
For three years, I was the lowest Omega in the Blackwood Pack, hopelessly devoted to my Fated Mate, Alpha Kaelen. But when I was mauled by rogues and bleeding out in the freezing forest, I desperately begged him for help through our mate link. He crushed his wolf’s instincts to save me and sent back a chilling thought before severing our connection completely. "She is a mistake. Silence." He didn't just leave me to die. The next morning, he dragged me before the entire pack, publicly rejected me, and let his people strip me of my clothes and dignity. They threw me out of the territory with nothing but a scratchy burlap sack, expecting the deadly wilderness to claim my life by nightfall. I thought my life was over, until I stumbled upon a hidden sanctuary in the woods and uncovered a horrific truth. I wasn't just a worthless Omega. I was the last surviving Matron Luna of the legendary Mooncrest Pack—a powerful pack that Kaelen's own father had brutally massacred decades ago out of pure jealousy. He thought he had discarded a piece of trash, entirely unaware of the blood feud between our families. He didn't know he had just set me free. Now, with my ancient powers awakening and my lost people gathering by my side, I am going to make the Alpha who threw me away pay for every drop of blood his family spilled.
The Belated Confession from a Disqualified Father
7.7
My six-year-old twins, Liam and Lily, begged to go to Disneyland. But my husband, Julian Vance, planned to take his mistress to a prenatal clinic. Annoyed by the twins' crying and deeming them "too delicate and spoiled," Julian drove them out to the Mojave Desert, demanding they learn how to survive on their own. I couldn't even fathom it. I begged him desperately. "Julian, please! Give me the coordinates! Tell me where my babies are!" "They're only six! They'll die out there! I promise I'll discipline them. I'll never let them bother you again. Please, just let me go get them back!" The only answer I got was the sound of him having sex with his mistress. By the time Julian found out the truth, it was already too late. He knelt before me, crying and pleading for forgiveness, but my children were no longer around to forgive him. And I could never forgive him on their behalf.
