Divorce Variety Show
Chapter 3
I sneered. "Why should I? Did I ever let you suffer over the years? I've spent all the money that I've earned on you. What right do you have to say such things? If I hadn't spent all my money on you and let you live a comfortable life, how could you have gotten to know Rick?"
Maybe because I had exposed what she did, her eyes widened. "Nonsense! You have to sign this divorce agreement no matter what or I'll get Rick's family's legal team to sue you! I'd like to see who gets the last laugh."
"Go ahead." I sneered. "Do you think Rick truly loves you?"
"What do you think?" she glared at me and asked.
I felt it was amusing that Shannon still didn't know what was going on. She still thought that she was living in a fairy tale. She was truly a fool.
"You're just one of the many women around him. Do you know why he chose you?" I looked Shannon in the eyes and continued, "That's because you easily fall for him and are willing to sleep with him. All he has to do is hook his fingers and you'll be willing to throw yourself on his bed completely naked. To put it bluntly, you're just a lowlife!"
After hearing those words, Shannon's face became fierce.
She probably knew what I said was true, but didn't want to admit it. "Nonsense!"
She lifted her hands and walked towards me in an attempt to scratch me, but I stopped her with one hand.
I dragged her to the door and threw her out.
"James, you wretch! I'm going to rip you into pieces!"
"Instead of making a fuss in front of me, why don't you go and cause a scene in front of Rick? You might be given a status if you do that. However, for a shameless woman like you, he'll treat you as a mistress at the most. You'll be kept hidden all your life as you wait for his love. As for him, he'll soon meet someone else and won't even take another at you."
With that said, I slammed the door shut.
Shannon shouted and slammed the door from the outside, but she couldn't retort at all.
That was because she knew what I said was true.
After Shannon had left, I received the divorce agreement my lawyer drafted for me.
However, it wasn't the best time to sue her right now.
Before the end of the recording, we had all signed a confidentiality agreement. If I sued her, I would breach the contract. If that happened, I would have to pay a huge liquidation fee.
It wasn't worth it just to divorce someone like Shannon.
For the next couple of days, Shannon really didn't come and cause a scene.
I wondered if she had truly listened to what I said.
However, what I knew was that Rick and Christine would never get a divorce.
Their marriage was an alliance between affluent families. There were a lot of benefits involved. Only an idiot like Shannon would get herself involved in such a complicated relationship.
She would definitely end up in a horrible situation.
As for Christine, I didn't talk to her much on the show. The only impression I had of her was when she stopped me from getting into a fight with Rick.
I felt sorry for her, but she could endure Rick's actions meant that she knew what she was doing.
After a few quiet days, my mother-in-law, Lauren Lowe, suddenly came to find me.
Seeing that she still treated me like before, I knew that Shannon hadn't told her that she had found herself another sugar daddy.
From the fact that Shannon's whole family were gold diggers, Lauren would have desperately wanted to become Rick's mother-in-law.
Of course, I didn't expose what Shannon did. Instead, I asked straightforwardly, "What are you doing here?"
Lauren frowned. She was obviously unhappy. "Watch that attitude of yours. My daughter has been pregnant for over 12 weeks. Can't I come to visit her?"
