Chapter 5

Kevin and I are at the ice cream bar next to school. We went here straight after he arrived.

"You've been quiet for a while, Oreo. Ready to talk yet?" Kevin asked.

I pouted again. "I got detention. I was late again to Sir Padalecki's class." I explained, taking a bite of my ice cream.

"Really? Aww." Suddenly, my squinty-eyed friend pulled me into a hug. I couldn't help but hug him back.

Hold up, guys. Kevin Chau is straight, okay? And he's ridiculously smart, we're both dean's listers. I've been friends with him since high school. A lot of people chase after Kevin, no joke! I've made a lot of enemies for him, hahaha! Because he doesn't like when girls come up to him. So, I'm the one who shields him. He's handsome, not exactly tall, but he's got that cute squinty-eyed, moreno charm. And that's why I love him-he and I have the same skin tone, hahaha! Anyway, we're a tight group. Me, Kevin, Claire, and Alex. Claire Novak is a gorgeous blonde with blue eyes and usually rocks dreadlocks. Alex Mills is the pale, black-haired emo of the group. But we're all super close. Kevin and I are the only Asians in the gang. He looks Chinese.

Anyway, back to the story. Kevin hugged me, then I pulled away. "I'm okay now. At first, I was really stressed, but everything went fine. Now, I'm dealing with other stuff." I told him, getting ready to spill about Sir Misha.

"Huh? What's bothering you?" He asked, his cute little squinty eyes widening. He's such an adorable dork.

"Because earlier... you know, I got detention. And the professor there, OMG, he's sooo handsome. Like, celebrity level handsome! He can compete with Sir Padalecki, Sir Ackles, and Sir Sheppard. Blue eyes, Kevs! Blue eyes!" I said, practically melting.

"Then what happened?" He asked, genuinely listening.

"Well, he's so handsome and mysterious, but I embarrassed myself in front of him," I said, frowning.

"Oh. Who's this professor?" Kevin furrowed his brow, trying to figure this out.

"Misha Novak, that's his name. I've only seen him here at SPNU," I said, going back to my ice cream.

Kevin pulled out his mini laptop. Don't be surprised, he always carries it around. This guy's a total geek, but like, a cute one.

"Let's look him up," he said, quickly typing away. I leaned in, of course, I wanted to know about Sir Misha too. Why do I feel like I'm so obsessed with getting to know him? Am I going full stalker-mode?

He searched for him on Facebook, and a bunch of profiles came up. One of them caught my eye. The profile picture had him smiling. That's him. Blue eyes, sexy lips. That's definitely him.

"OH MY GOD, HE'S EVEN MORE HANDSOME WHEN HE SMILES!" I slapped the table out of pure excitement. I can't handle how good-looking Sir Misha is.

"This profile is super private. You can't even add him," Kevin commented, shaking his head.

"Let me see," I said, looking closer. "Yeah, you're right. All his info is set to private."

"But he started teaching at SPNU this month," Kevin showed me a post on Sir Misha's timeline. That's why I didn't know him, he's new.

"What's the deal with Sir Misha?" I asked, out of the blue.

Blue eyes...

Oh my god, not again with the blue eyes!

"He's one year older than Sir Padalecki and Sir Jensen. He's 29," Kevin said as he read through Sir Misha's profile.

"Really? Wow. He looks younger though. If he'd just dress a little less formal, I'd think he's around our age." I said. Honestly, he could pass for someone in their 20s. All of us-me, Kevin, Alex, and Claire-are 20, so the age difference is not a big deal. We're all just a month apart.

"Don't worry, Oreo. I'll check out the official SPNU page," Kevin said, grinning his squinty grin even more.

"Really, Kevs?? Thank you so much! This is why I love you!" I hugged him.

"Yeah, I know you won't be satisfied until you know everything about him," Kevin replied.

"You really know me so well, Kevs." I smiled at him.

"Of course. So, do you want me to walk you home?" he offered.

"No, it's okay. By the way, how's Claire? She's been MIA for weeks now." I asked. It's been forever since we've seen her.

"She's dealing with some family stuff," Kevin said.

"Ahh, that's why she hasn't said anything. Her family situation's kind of complicated, so she doesn't like sharing too much about it," I said, nodding in understanding.

I'm so glad Kevin's here to help me figure things out. I really need to know more about Sir Misha!
