It's there she meets the mysterious Professor Misha Novak, a strikingly handsome but peculiar man with captivating ocean-blue eyes and a peculiar allure. As their strange connection deepens, Oreo discovers that Misha-and her other professors, Ross Ackles and Samuel Padalecki-are hiding far more than meets the eye. Chapter 6

We're at the cafeteria now, me, Alex, and Kevin. Just like usual, Claire isn't here again. But this time, my phone's on loudspeaker, and we're talking to her.

"Don't worry, I'll be back soon," she says, laughing over the phone.

"REALLY, CLAIRE?! HOW DARE YOU?! YOU'RE NOT EVEN HERE TO CHEER ME UP! THE 16-YEAR GOOD RECORD I'VE BEEN CAREFULLY MAINTAINING IS NOW RUINED! UGH!" There, I'm back to my usual energy. It's pretty obvious, and my friends here are covering their ears.

"You're so loud, Oreyow," Claire says softly, laughing at me. And yes, she calls me O-RE-YOW-she's crazy like that.

"YOU'RE SUCH A FAKE FRIEND, KRISSY KLEYR NOBAK!"

And Claire just laughs harder. Kevin and Alex joined in too.

"The word 'NOBAK' sounds so weird," Alex says, laughing.

"It's just because your last name's nice. -,-" Kevin adds, squinting his eyes and interrupting.

"Shut up, Kevin-tot!" Alex throws a used tissue at Kevin.

"Yuuuck! Alexandria Brianna Mills, you're gross!!!" Kevin says, gagging. We all burst out laughing, including Claire on the other end of the line.

"By the way, it's ICT class now," Alex reminded us. Yep, we're all in the same ICT class. Kevin and Claire are only together in Biology and Natural Sciences. We're all in the same class for Disciplines in Social Sciences. I only have Alex as a classmate in Disaster Preparedness. They have some other subjects they're together in.

"Let's go, guys, we're late!" Claire jokes through the phone.

We all laugh, then after a few more goodbyes, we head straight to our ICT class. We don't want to make our cute but malnourished professor, Sir Garth Shurley, mad.

After class, I told the guys I had to leave because it's almost 4 PM. Detention, remember? I've already told Alex about Sir Misha. I'll tell Claire when she gets back.

They sarcastically wished me good luck. Seriously, these guys are bonkers.

They didn't walk me to detention since they still had class, so I had to go alone.

Like yesterday, I knocked lightly and opened the door.

"Come in," I heard his voice again. I saw him right away. He was wearing a blue long-sleeve polo today.

I walked in.

Oh my god.

I was the only student here today.

Just me and Sir Misha. X^X

I sat in the middle, but...

"What are you doing over there? Come here," he called, chuckling. Damn, why is he so sexy?

Oreo, get it together!

"Y-Yes, Sir," I said, moving to a new seat. I could feel every movement I made was a little stiff.

When I sat back down at my usual seat, he smiled at me.

Wait. He smiled at me, the make-your-heart-skip-a-beat kind of smile!

My eyes widened. Is this for real? Sir Misha smiled? And it wasn't the awkward smile he had yesterday-this one was more natural, and... well, it was just cuter. Damn!

"Is there," he tilted his head, looking at me with uncertainty, "any problem?" He smiled again. Oh no, my heart is racing!

"No... nothing, Sir," I looked down, totally melting inside.

I was surprised when he was suddenly in front of me. He knelt down right in front of my chair, just like in my imagination.

I didn't know my eyes could get even bigger. But they did.

He was staring at me with concern on his face. "Are you okay, Orion?"

Ugh. Of all the people who've said my name, his is the only one that sounds amazing. His voice is so sexy when he says it.

"Ahm... Y-Yes," I said, my heart pounding. Wait-why can't I calm down?

"Are you sick?" He gently touched my face, just like he did in my imagination yesterday.

His hand was soft and warm. I felt electricity when his palm touched my cheek.

He was staring at me with those blue eyes, his gaze full of concern.

I couldn't react. This is happening again.

For some reason, the worry in his eyes disappeared, replaced with an unreadable expression-at least, it was unreadable to me. I don't even know how to interpret it.

What's that look? Why is he so close?

"I told you before," he spoke softly, his voice low. I could feel the shivers. He kept his eyes on me. "Don't stare at me like that."

How am I supposed to stop staring? Those eyes, they're pulling me in.

Oreo, get yourself together! What's happening to you?

"A-Ah... Sorry, Sir," I tried looking away, embarrassed.

He took his hand away from my face.

And then, he smiled again.

"That's okay." He flashed me that big smile again, then stood up and went back to his desk.

What in the world?!

Sir Misha is so weird.

What was I even thinking? I probably looked like an idiot just now.

"Maybe you're wondering why you're the only one here. You're new to detention, and the others you saw here yesterday are regulars. I'm new here too, but I see them here a lot," he explained, speaking normally now. It was different from yesterday and even from earlier. He was more like Sir Padalecki, the way he talks to me in class.

I nodded, still a little flustered.

"And since it's your first time, you'll need to attend briefings and seminars. You'll be doing that for the next three days," he explained.

What could that be? Why do they have all these extra steps? I was just late. Wait, why haven't I asked about this yet?

"Sir, why's that? I was just late..." I asked politely, haha, look at me being all formal.

"Well, that's just the way it is. That's what the rules say. I'm just following them," he smiled sympathetically.

I just nodded again. Fine, Sir. You're lucky you're cute.

He sat down. "So, let's begin."

He started explaining the school rules, why they're in place, why there are disciplinary actions, etc. I understood everything. Of course, in my head, I'm still protesting, thinking I didn't need to hear all this nonsense. But because Sir explains things well (and he's cute, okay, normal-Sir vibes are better!), I managed to listen.

It's surprising that I got through this detention without feeling awkward, despite all the weirdness earlier.

----

"OMG, DID HE REALLY?" Alex reacts, laughing on the phone.

"Yes, really, girl!" I roll my eyes.

"You know, Oreo... Your professor's a bit of a weirdo too!" Alex comments from the other end of the line. It's probably late, but she's so nosy that she made me tell her everything.

"You're telling me! And it was so awkward! Was he really acting like that with me?! Just because he's cute!" I rant, popping some potato chips into my mouth.

"Come on, if I know, you were totally swooning. Don't deny it, Oreo!" She says, totally calling me out.

"YOU-?! Are we even friends, Alexandria Brianna Buckler Mills?!"

"Of course we are! That's why I know you so well. So, did you enjoy your cute professor?"

"I'M GONNA TELL AUNTIE JODI ABOUT THIS!!" I say. (Her mom's Auntie Jodi. This girl is crazy.)

She just laughs on the other end of the line.

"But honestly, it was really cute," I say seriously, smirking.

"Then just admit it. Come on, Mary Orion Blanchard Win-"

"Okay, go to sleep already. Good night, guuuurl! Labyu!"

"Haaaaaaay... Fine. Good night! Don't think about Sir Misha, or you might dream about him!" she teases.

"Hmp! Don't be like that, you might curse me and make me dream about him!" I say, laughing.

"Hahahaha! Fine, bye, Oreo! Love you! Muah!" She hung up.

Phew. That was crazy, funny, and a little bit heart-fluttering. So much going on!
