Chapter 3

"Don't worry about him, we will sort things out soon. We will do everything possible to make sure Dera doesn't stay in this estate and in Gray's life." Carla was fusing with anger inside of her, her eyes were bloodshot.

"Carla, I can't believe this is happening to me!" She sank to her knees.

Carla tried her best to raise Sienna. She led her into the house, to her apartment.

"We can't believe this is happening!" People started to comment. The Alpha didn't even give them a hint that he was going to take another Luna after Sienna had already been installed as their Luna.

Sienna was their most beloved Luna, she was cordial and merciful, and there was no reason for anyone to hate her with the type of life she lived.

Yes, this caused a great sense of worry to all but it couldn't be measured by the worry Sienna had. This disturbed Sienna more than she ever thought of. So she decided to spend her days inside her room, turning an introvert overnight.

Gray was becoming so violent in words and act each time they crossed each other, so she chose to avoid him.

Since Alpha Gray was a terror in appearance as well as in actions, no one dared to challenge him for his new treatment of their beloved Luna, Sienna. They kept quiet, not as though they didn't care but they were afraid. Aside from this, Gray wasn't the type that would listen to anyone. As for the Beta, he watched what was happening in silence.

Sienna continued to live in her misery, wishing for things to change but it came up to the point that Sienna couldn't keep quiet any longer, so she decided to act.

"I don't give a damn shit whether she's his fucking mate or whatever, I will drive her out of this estate!" She vowed as she left her room finally. She headed to her husband's apartment which he now shared with Dera.

As she approached, she saw Dera going into the room she once used to stay with her husband, it was their matrimonial room.

Dera held a tray of appetizers chopped into pieces which she and Gray were going to eat for the morning. She was going to make a fruit salad for Gray, it was obvious. This was her favorite delicacy while in bed with Gray. Then Dera used to prepare it.

It was so sad that she now had to be the one enjoying this with her husband while she had to stay alone and gloomy inside her room, gazing over at the window every day, dying of loneliness.

Sienna hastened up, pulling her by the shoulder so violently that the tray fell and all of the fruits fell on the ground.

"Hey girl, what are you up to?" She growled, snarling at her.

"I'm over there in my room, so sad and lonely and you think you can enjoy my husband. No!" She shook her head. "Not in this life."

"You, ugly bitch, I wonder why you should be so clingy. It's so disgusting!" Dera spat on her. “You don't even fit to be his Luna.”

"Gray has shown many times he doesn't want you, still you persist. Don't you think you should pack your things and go out into the streets?"

"Go and die there with your bitterness!"

"I'm tired of seeing your ugly face in this house!" She spat on Sienna. Sienna couldn't believe that her little stepsis was talking to her this way just because she happened to become her husband's new Luna.

As she bent to pack the appetizer from the ground into the trash can since they couldn't be fed on again, Sienna jacked her by the hair. Jacking her face up, she gave her a hard slap which sent her crashing to the ground.

It was at this point Alpha Gray came out. He had a white towel wrapped over his waist. He had beads of water streaming down his chest. His hair was messy. His chest was hard with his eight-pack abs making him look all sexy and hot.

His face was strong, his eyes turned red seeing his little mate on the floor.

He didn't say a word but dashed at Sienna, giving her several slaps. Her cheeks turned red, her entire face got swollen. He kicked at her and she stumbled, falling to the ground. Sienna groaned in pain.

He then rushed over to Dera.

"What's going on sweetheart?" He was panting. "Hope you're not really hurt? I can't believe this clingy fool pushed you to the ground."

Sienna cried out. "I can't believe you would do this to me after all the love and earnest promises.” She said in tears and a broken voice. “I still can't believe why you would do this, you came in and without knowing what happened between us, you descended on me." Her heart was pierced as she saw Gray petting Dera.

When he raised his head and shot her a glance, she shivered. He had so much hate in his eyes towards her.

"She said she's going to kill me if I don't leave this estate!" Dera lied after Gray raised her to her feet.

"What?" Gray gasped, about to descend on Sienna again but Dera held him.

"Don't worry, I'll deal with her myself."

Dera stormed towards Sienna, pushing her against the wall. Sienna's knees were weak. Gray's beating had rendered her weak physically and emotionally. Even with her weakness, there was a fire in their hearts.

She pushed Dera's hands off her.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" She barked at her, pushing her away from her.

With this, Dera still walked towards her, Sienna's eyes were filled with shock. She couldn't believe that her little stepsis she helped could take this stance against her. Her heart was still into when they were mistress and maid.

The anger infuriated her, making her shift into her big gray wolf. "I'm gonna show you that I'm still your superior, even when my husband is touching you!"

The harvest moon hung low over the Silvermoon Pack territory, casting silver shadows across the celebration grounds. I stood at the edge of the main hall, clipboard in hand, watching Grant move through the crowd with the natural grace of a born leader. My heart did that familiar flutter every time his deep laugh carried across the room, every time he threw his head back in genuine amusement at something one of the visiting dignitaries said. Stop it, Harper. You're his assistant, nothing more. But then his eyes would find mine across the room, holding my gaze for just a moment too long, and my carefully constructed walls would crumble. Tonight felt different somehow. The air between us crackled with something electric, something dangerous. "Harper." His voice, warm and commanding, made me jump. I hadn't heard him approach.

The bell above the door of *The Gilded Claw* chimed softly as I stepped inside, the scent of sage and old parchment washing over me. It was a stark contrast to the sterile, modern smell of the Silver Lake Pack House, and for a moment, I let my shoulders drop. Here, amidst the dusty relics and enchanted trinkets, I didn't have to be the trembling, wolfless Omega everyone thought I was. "Miss Hayes," the shopkeeper, an elderly warlock named Elias, greeted me with a bow that was far too deep for a girl in faded jeans and a thrift-store sweater. His milky eyes lingered on me, seeing something no one else in this town bothered to look for. "Your commission is ready." He placed a velvet box on the counter. I opened it, my breath hitching. Inside lay a dagger forged from pure moonstone, the blade shimmering with an iridescent glow that seemed to pulse in time with my own heartbeat. It was a courting gift. A promise.

Just because I accidentally spilled hot water on Bailee Rose, my mate’s Beta, he locked me in the pack’s sauna for eight hours. Right before I lost consciousness, Rhys Kennedy, the Alpha of the Crimson Fang Pack, finally sent someone to get me out. He stood over me, his towering frame casting a shadow, his voice low and commanding, “This is just a small lesson. If I ever see you hurt Bailee again, next time, it won’t be this easy for you.” I lay on the stretcher, my body weak but my voice steady. “Alright,” I said, knowing better than to argue with an Alpha. ============================== On the day I was discharged, I stood outside the packhouse and overheard lively chatter inside. The voices carried through the open windows, sharp and mocking. “Alpha Rhys, if you dislike Adelaide so much, why not just reject her?” Colin Harris, a Gamma in the pack, asked smugly. Rhys made a noise of irritation, his deep voice rumbling. “My mother, the Luna, insists that only Adelaide can initiate the rejection.

The first rays of dawn filtered through the silk curtains of my room in the pack house, painting everything in shades of gold and rose. Today was the day. After ten years of waiting, of growing together, of building something beautiful from childhood friendship into destined love, Elian and I would finally complete our mate ceremony. I stretched beneath the covers, my hand instinctively moving to rest on my still-flat stomach. The pregnancy was so new that even I could barely believe it—a miracle, Dr. Mitchell had called it, given the rarity of Alpha fertility. The timing felt perfect, like the Moon Goddess herself had blessed our union with this gift. Downstairs, I could hear the bustling activity that had started before sunrise. Pack members moved with purpose through the corridors, their voices carrying excitement and warmth. The ceremonial grounds behind the pack house would be transformed into something magical by evening, with white flowers and silver ribbons honoring the Moon Goddess who had brought Elian and me together all those years ago.

I found out Axton had taken a mate when their child was already born. In the pack hall, his friend Stefan asked him how he planned to explain it to me. He just scoffed: “It’s natural for a future Alpha to have a mate and a chosen companion. She has no right to demand an explanation from me.” “Besides, Victoria is possessive. It’s better not to tell her yet, or she might do something reckless to harm my child.” We’d grown up together, and three years ago, I left for a pack ceremony. He promised me, “It’ll always be just you and me. When you return, we’ll have our mark ceremony.” This time, I didn’t cry or beg him to explain why he’d broken his promise. I turned and left, accepting the mate bond with Josue Cruz. Finally, I let go of my love for him. ......

The baby kicked inside me as I sat alone in our barely furnished quarters, my hands resting on my swollen belly. Today was my birthday—not that it mattered to anyone in the Silvercrest Pack. Especially not to Bear. I glanced at the clock for the hundredth time. 8:17 PM. The pack house across the grounds was lit up like a Christmas tree, laughter and music floating through the evening air. Someone was having a celebration tonight. "Did you hear about the Alpha Summit gala?" A female voice drifted through my open window—two pack members chatting as they passed by. "Katherine looks stunning in that new designer dress. Alpha Bear spared no expense." My stomach tightened.
