Bound to my husband's enemy Chapter 1

I felt no pain when they lowered the body of my dead ex husband to the ground.

All I felt in me was rage and hurt from the things he had done to me.

The moment the ceremony was over I was back to the  house we both shared and right now his lawyer was set to read his will.

Madam,he said you didn't need to be here for the hearing.

My heart raced listening to what he had just said, why would he say  that?

The door to the mansion opened but without looking in that direction I knew it was her.

That was sound of the heels that had terrified me in my five years of marriage.

Layla

What was she doing here?

Layla wore a bold red lipstick and her hair  packed in a bum, she didn't look a mess for  someone who had just lost her lover but instead was more beautiful than ever.

My heart  tightened against my chest when I saw that she wasn't alone but beside her was a young boy.

From the way he looked, I could tell he was his son, he looked just like him.

My husband had a son with his mistress.

Layla went to sit on the couch  pulling the boy with her while staring at me.

"Layla,I called" unable  to hold the pain I was feeling at that moment.

"He wanted her to be here" his  lawyer cut me off before I could even say anything.

"That is his mistress,I'm his wife" I  screamed unable to take the torture anymore.

The lawyer only looked at me  like I had gone nuts before settling down to the will in front of  him ignoring my outburst.

My four mansions,I leave to  the love  of my  life Layla and my son Miguel.

As for the rest of the business including the club, Layla would also  be in charge of that.

As for my wife Daisy, all I  give her is my love.

Darling, I know you love  me and that is why I have decided to leave you  with 100,000 dollars in my trust fund.

100k usd.

That was the only thing he  gave  me, the woman who has  been with him through thick  and thin

By the time   the lawyer spoke the last words, I was breaking out beads of sweat all over my forehead.

The bastard, he left me with nothing, absolutely nothing.

This is what I get for being the sweet loving and caring  wife.

"I told  you Daisy,"Laura taunted , holding the boy and standing up with a satisfied smile  on her  face.

He never loved you , he loved me and had  a family with me and as for you,he only wanted you to carry the name

 "His  wife".

Her words struck my heart and watching her hold  the boy all I could feel was bitterness.

I had been deceived, used, and lied to, this was the same man that  I rejected my family for.

I met callum when I turned 18, I was a freshman in college and had an accident and someone saved me.

I fell for him, for Callum, he was about two years older than me and I thought he was  the one.

Somehow when  he told me he loved me I fell for  it

My  parents were against the marriage but clouded with my love for him I quickly turned my back on them and got married to him.

Marriage to him wasn't as rosy as I thought. It didn't take a month after our marriage that I noticed his affairs with other  women.

All the women he had an affair with  I knew, but Layla she was constant. She's the daughter of an ex member of this club and had lost her father at a tender age  and had literally grown up with him .

He loved her,not  me.

He had a family with her but made me abort the two pregnancies I had for him.

In my five years of being married to him,all I had gone through was the worst abuse emotionally, verbally and physically.

I couldn't even remember the last time he touched  me. That  would be  in  five years.

When he died I  was  hurt, he was the man I loved regardless of how he treated me but even in death Callum had decided to show me how much he loved the other woman over me.

"Madam, but he said you can keep this house as he knows your parents aren't going to take you back" The  lawyer's voice broke me out of my thoughts.

I swallowed the lump forming  on my throat as I looked at the lawyer who was also a member of his motorcycle club.

Is that all? I asked, trying so hard to  not break  down at that  moment.

He said the club members  would  always protect you.

"I  think that's what suits you Daisy, I got everything after all" Layla taunted  again  as she stood up.

Watching the woman  who  has  ruined  my marriage have so much leverage above me made my heart boil.

I was a fool,I should have left when I still had the opportunity but yet I stayed to face this humiliation even after his death.

"You can keep the house Layla" I say, making her halth.

Layla smiled as if she had just  won a lottery.

Obviously he loved you enough to have a son with you and not me, you deserved  everything, I would take my things and leave.

"Daisy , you really don't want to do that" His lawyer warned me.

Where do I sign  everything over ? I asked ignoring his words

I wasn't taking a thing from that bastard, I was done with him  and everything that has to do with him.

Ignoring his stare I sighed everything over.

I wasn't his wife anymore , I didn't want him , I didn't want his world , I wanted to be out of it already.

I was done. Since  he could give out everything to his bitch then she could have it all.

He was dead and I could have my life back.

This is a new beginning for me.A  new beginning from the man who had ruined my life.

Two floors down, my mother-in-law was already calculating the cost of my survival. To save the family’s stock prices, they decided a "grieving widower" was better than a disgraced bride. Claudius didn't even flinch. He downed a whiskey and gave the order to the staff. "Do it." The door swung open, but it wasn't my husband. It was the housekeeper and a maid wearing medical gloves. They pinned me down, ignoring my screams, and plunged a syringe of potassium chloride into my neck. They scattered pills across the floor, staging a perfect suicide while I felt my heart rhythm fail. "I'm pregnant. Please." I sobbed into the silk cushions, but they didn't pause. As the darkness swallowed the room, I realized my entire marriage had been a transaction, and I was now a liability to be liquidated. How could the man I loved sign my death warrant? Why was my best friend already wearing my engagement ring before my body was even cold? But they forgot one thing: I was an Elliott, and we always have a contingency plan.
