Chapter 2

JAYDEN’s POV

~Do you think he could be our mate?~

A soft growl echoed through my head and my breath snagged. But I knew it wasn't Rafael. It was… My wolf? The one I didn’t have or thought I didn’t.

The voice in my head purred again. ~He’s ours. You feel it, don’t you?~

Still thinking, I stumbled back. Unfortunately, it was too fast, and I slipped. The tray hit the ground with a loud clatter and the plates shattered. My palms hit the tile. Shame flamed under my skin.

~You idiot. But don’t worry. He’ll save us. I can feel it.~

That annoying voice again.

I blinked furiously, fighting the sting in my eyes as I scrambled on all fours toward the mess. My fingers shook as I tried to gather the shattered pieces.

One shard sliced into my skin and a whimper tore through my throat.

“Don’t bother yourself,” he said, his voice like dark silk—smooth, deep, and soaked in power. “I can help you.”

“Help me?” I whispered, barely able to breathe as I turned to meet his gaze. “I’ll do anything for you to help me. My Boss mustn’t see this.”

Those piercing silver eyes stared at me like a blade slipping between ribs. My blood began to boil in my veins as my heart melted like ice cream under the noonday sun.

His lips parted slightly. “Alphas get lust spikes near mating season. Right now, your scent might be pulling me in like gravity.”

My scent? I must’ve been leaking pheromones like an Omega in need.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“You know what to do. I hate repeating myself.”

I crawled forward on my knees submissively toward where he stood in the bathroom’s doorway. Steam still curled around his skin, and the towel around his waist clung low, teasing what lay beneath.

Rafael went down on his knees.

His breath fanned my face—hot, damp, and electrifying. His proximity lit my blood on fire. My cheeks burned. My whole body glowed from the inside out.

The air between us crackled, as if the very molecules were aware of what was about to unfold. The closer he came, the harder it was to think.

Something primal inside me twitched. I pressed my thighs together harder to ease the throb building in my rear. My teeth sank into my lower lip to stop a sound from slipping out.

My eyes fell to his mouth—full, pink, and sinful.

Hmmmmm, I want him to ruin me.

His fingers brushed against my lower back, and a violent shiver tore through me. The touch was so light it almost wasn’t there, yet I felt it everywhere.

He leaned in, close enough that our noses almost touched. “I thought it was just lust but your scent...” His nose brushed my throat. “It’s addictive. You’re an Omega in pre-heat.”

That last word made my breath stutter. So that’s what this was?

That aching tension. That unbearable burn. That tremble in my limbs every time he got too close.

~Let him take us~

The voice in my head said, more like a verdict. I gasped softly as my body trembled as his palm grazed my side.

He was also breathing heavier.

The towel at his waist shifted slightly. I didn’t dare look down, but I felt what was coming. And it terrified me... but it thrilled me more.

His silver eyes dropped to mine, and my whole body locked up. His gaze alone had me clenching my legs tighter, as though that could stop the flow licking through my rear.

A slow, knowing smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. “My almost perfect little needy Omega.”

Those words should’ve made anger rush through my veins. They should have made my fists clench, made my chest tighten with fury or made me scream but they didn’t.

Instead, they made my length twitch. They made me ache. And I hated it. No, I loved it.

I wanted him. And every instinct in me screamed ‘submit’.

I started to turn away, to escape the heat that was rising inside me too fast, but he stepped in by reaching for my chin with two fingers and tilted my face up, forcing me to meet his eyes again and all I did was let out a whimper.

Before I knew it, he brought his lips to mine.

His lips were devouring, hot like fire and soft like jelly. It wasn’t just a kiss—it was a claim. His tongue slowly pressed past my lips, teasing me like he had all the time in the world.

His hand slid to the back of my neck, pulling me closer when I tried moving backward, remembering he was an Alpha.

A moan escaped my lips into his mouth, and that sound—so needy and shameful—echoed back to me like a confession.

~You like that, don’t you? Let him taste you alive. Fuck. I love this.~

I tried to pull away again, but his teeth grazed my lower lip, and I melted right there, my thighs trembling from the tension building beneath my skin.

My wolf whimpered, growing hungrier for his scent. For his taste.

He pulled back slightly, his breath mingling with mine, his lips still brushing against my own. “You taste like something I’ve never tasted before,” he whispered, his voice soft. “You’re delicious.”

I shuddered.

He rose to his full height, and I just remained there—wet, and dizzy with lust. He didn’t need to order me. My body already knew what to do.

He pulled me up and began to close the distance between us. His right hand, gentle but possessive, as though I was his to handle. And maybe… maybe I was.

The back of my knees hit the edge of the bed and I fell backward. He leaned down and kissed me again, more patiently this time. Just his lips and breath.

Then he reached for my shirt.

Slowly, he began peeling it away. Every inch of skin he uncovered was met with a kiss. It was burning, wet, and claiming. Starting right from my collarbone to my ribs, his mouth followed the fabric’s trail, making sure I felt each new place his lips touched.

I gasped when his lip dipped just below my bellybutton. My length was already hard but it was trapped beneath the fabric of my boxers, twitching against the restraint.

His mouth hovered above it. “You’re not small,” he murmured, his eyes filled with lust. “That’s going to feel good sliding down my throat.”

He barely finished speaking when a moan slid out of my mouth. He gripped the waistband of my boxers and peeled them down.
