Chapter 5

Siobhan Bailey's POV

After the elevator stopped, I walked straight into the Beauty Killer.

It was a world-famous luxury brand and was very popular among the rich ladies nowadays.

I wandered around inside, glancing at the exquisite dresses one by one, and finally fixed my eyes on a light golden dress.

The hemline of the dress was irregular, and the back side was long enough to reach the heels. The hemline of the dress spun a few circles in spiral. The spiral spinning hemline slightly bulged the entire dress, adding a bit of vitality to the simple and elegant dress.

I fell in love with this dress almost at a glance.

"This one." I pointed at the dress and gave a hint to the saleswoman.

The shopping guide introduced with a smile, "this is the new style designed by the chief designer of our Beauty Killer KK this year. It is widely praised in the fashion magazine. You have a good taste."

I nodded, knowing that she had something else to say.

"But the price of this dress is seven figures. I don't know if you..." the shopping guide wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought. She even took a meaningful look at my shabby dress.

Kelly Moore rolled her eyes helplessly!

"Since I'm here, I can afford it. Take that one!" I said in a more serious tone.

The shopping guide was in a dilemma. The manager had specially asked her to take care of this dress. If she didn't buy it after trying it on

Thinking of this, the shopping guide slowly took the dress, but when she saw the other side, her eyes suddenly lit up.

"Ms.Sharon, Ms.Holmes!" The saleswoman was about to burst into laughter.

I also raised my head and saw Sharon Bailey coming in arm in arm with a woman I didn't know.

"Do you two want to see dresses? We have got many new styles here..." the saleswoman explained in front of the two people attentively. Her attitude towards me was totally different from that towards the two of us just now.

In the end, the two stopped in front of the light golden dress I had chosen just now.

The saleswoman described the dresses more carefully for the two of them a. At last, the girl next to Sharon Bailey waved her hand impatiently and said, "don't mention it anymore. Just this one."

The shopping guide took the dress down happily.

"Did you hear that just now? The shopping guide called her Ms.Holmes. She is the lady of the Holmes Group, Beth Holmes. Her brother, Colin Holmes, is the so-called boyfriend of Sharon Bailey." the girl explained in a low voice.

I blinked. Oh, interesting.

Sharon Bailey whispered something in Beth Holmes's ear and ran out in her high heels.

The saleslady's hand that was packing the dress was suddenly pressed by another small hand that stretched out from nowhere.

"It seems that I saw it first, right?" I raised my chin and looked at the saleswoman.

Beth Holmes walked over and asked impatiently, "what's wrong?"

The shopping guide told her what had happened just now.

Beth Holmes snorted and looked at me in disgust. "Just you? Come on. Have you ever seen so much money? Why do you buy luxuries when you are poor? You have no self-knowledge at all!"

I turned my face to Beth Holmes and slowly turned to look at her.

"Do you think I can't afford it?" I said it word by word with a faint smile.

"Look at your poor face!" Although Beth Holmes and Sharon Bailey have a good relationship, I often don't go home, so Beth Holmes seldom meet me.

"Call your manager out." I raised my chin to the shopping guide.

"Wow, you still call me manager? Do you really think of yourself as someone?" Beth Holmes sneered.

The shopping guide didn't move, but the manager seemed to hear the argument and walked out.

"A Beauty Killer also allowed such poor to enter? Don't you want to quit your shop?" As soon as the manager came out, Beth Holmes criticized him without a word, making the manager dare not speak.

"Ms.Holmes, I'm sorry." The manager bowed to Beth Holmes in succession. His flattering look made me feel like a puppy.

"Hurry up and pack up the dress for Ms.Holmes!" The manager snapped at the saleswoman. Instead, he left me alone.

I crossed my arms over my chest, leaned against the counter and looked coldly at the three people in front of me.

"Miss." After a while, the manager finally saw me who had been deliberately ignored by her. "This is not the place you come. There are many shops outside. Our Beauty Killer is not suitable for you. Please go out."

"Oh, I don't know. Our international brand store still has the habit of driving people out." Kelly Moore curled her lips and smiled scornfully. Then she turned to me and said, "I think we'd better leave now. We're not welcome here."

I leaned against there motionless and smiled. "I'd like to see how amazing this place is!"

"Miss, if you keep pestering me, I'll call the security." The manager's face darkened.

Beth Holmes looked at her and inexplicably hated her. She leaned there so calmly as if nothing could pose a threat to her.

"Manager, if you don't kick her out, I'll tell Mr.Bailey to fire you!" Beth Holmes' voice was so sharp that it almost made people's eardrums ache.

"Yes, yes." The manager nodded repeatedly at Beth Holmes, as if she was the owner of this place.

I strode over and pulled down the brooch on the manager's chest.

"What are you doing?" The manager was startled and screamed.

"You don't have to wait for a moment. I can tell you now that you have been, dismissed, hired!"

"How dare you!" The manager frowned and said, "guard! Drive this crazy man out!"

"Because this is my place!" I picked up the exquisitely packaged dress from the counter and handed it to Kelly Moore. "Tear it apart," I said indifferently

I always know that Kelly Moore is very strong. With a slight pull of her hands, the "I can't afford" dress turned into a pile of waste cloth.

I took out my old phone and sent a message. Then I turned to look at them with a smile.

I slowly walked forward, and my canvas shoes directly stepped on the pale yellow cloth, treading on the bed naked.

"Beth Holmes, you can't tell me what to do here!"

Beth Holmes had been brought up in a wealthy family. How could anyone say that? She widened her eyes and pointed at me fiercely. When she was about to scold, she was interrupted by me. "I have a bad temper. You'd better not scold me."

Beth Holmes was so angry that the thick glass door was pushed open again.

"Sharon!" Beth Holmes exploded at the sight of the person. "Is there a lunatic in your shop?"

Sharon Bailey walked up to Beth Holmes worriedly. Seeing that her eyes were red with anger, she felt a little flustered.

Her parents had always told her to have a good relationship with Beth Holmes. After all, this woman was the daughter of Holmes Family!

Ignoring Sharon Bailey, Beth Holmes threw herself into the arms of the man next to Sharon Bailey and cried sadly, "brother, someone bullied me..."

I'm interested in seeing Beth Holmes being so obedient. The sarcastic look in her eyes coincided with the inquiring eyes of Colin Holmes.

I shrugged--

Yes, it's me who bullied your sister.

Sharon Bailey got to know the ins and outs of the matter and complained to me, "sister, how can you do this? Aren't you smashing your own shop's business?"

Beth Holmes stopped crying abruptly and asked in disbelief, "Sharon, what did you say? She's your sister? She's Siobhan Bailey?"

Twenty minutes before the "Wedding of the Century" at The Plaza, I stood outside the Presidential Suite in a fifty-thousand-dollar Vera Wang gown. I was the girl from a West Virginia trailer park about to marry Hugh Maxwell, the golden heir to a billion-dollar defense empire. I pushed the door open only to find Hugh pinned against the bed with my own stepsister, Floy. She was wearing my bridal diamond necklace, and the sounds of their laughter scraped against my eardrums like sandpaper. I didn't scream; I listened as Hugh grunted that once the wedding was over and the trust fund unlocked, he’d dump "that hillbilly trash" on a bus back to the mountains. They weren't just cheating; they were planning to steal my family’s land deeds and leave me with nothing. When I set off the sprinklers and exposed their naked bodies to the paparazzi, the Maxwell family didn't apologize. They called me a "greedy peasant" and threatened to ruin my life unless I signed a new deal to save their crashing stock. I realized then that I was never a bride to them. I was a transaction, a rounding error in a ledger to be used and discarded. They thought my poverty made me weak and my silence made me a victim. "If we don't have a marriage certificate by midnight, the bank freezes thirty percent of our liquidity," their lawyer warned. So, I gave them exactly what they wanted. I used a loophole in their hundred-year-old family covenant and married the only other direct heir available. I didn't marry Hugh. I walked into the ICU and married his uncle, Fleet Maxwell—the legendary war hero who had been in a vegetative state for months. Now, I am the matriarch of the Maxwell dynasty. I’ve suspended Hugh’s executive powers, exiled my mother-in-law to the Swiss Alps, and taken control of the family vault. They think I’m just a gold-digger waiting for a "corpse" to die so I can collect a fifty-million-dollar widow's payout. But last night, as I lay beside my comatose husband, the man they called a vegetable gripped my hand back.
