Chapter 10

Siobhan Bailey's POV

I couldn't help laughing, thinking that if Sharon Bailey knew that grandpa had already seen through her little tricks

Seeing me laughing so happily, old master also laughed himself.

It was so good that granddaughter was still alive

We haven't seen each other for a long time. We talked a lot. It was not until I was too sleepy that I reluctantly closed the video.

As soon as I lay down, a servant knocked on the door and handed me a big box.

The box was big and there were many small boxes inside.

I took out the exquisitely packaged box at the top,

It's a pure white dress. I took a glance at it and closed the box. Then I took out a box at the bottom and saw a pair of high-heeled shoes inside.

Crystal clear, like a pair of crystal shoes.

I didn't look at the other two boxes. What I was thinking about was such a precious thing. Who on earth gave it to me?

Was it Johnny Stewart? Because I'm going to that party tomorrow?

It's not impossible. After all, Johnny Stewart has a purpose to please me

Thinking of this, I thought it was worthy of taking it, so I went forward and pulled the dress out of the box.

The phone rang. I found it was an unknown number.

But this number is too strange. Except for the first two numbers, the last one is 0. I pressed the answer key for some reason.

"Have you received it?" A gentle voice sounded.

"It's from you?" I'm a little surprised.

"Or who else do you think it is?" The person on the other end of the line seemed to be smiling.

"Why did you bring this to me?"

"Your dress is broken today. I'll compensate you."

Debbie was rendered speechless

"Go to bed early. See you tomorrow."

"Colin Holmes..."

"Good night."

The phone was hung up.

I thought it was from that bastard Johnny Stewart

After hanging up the phone, Colin Holmes thought for a while and dialed another number.

The person on the other end of the line seemed to be waiting, and it was answered with only a ring.

"Colin...".

"I'll send someone to pick you up at five o'clock tomorrow afternoon." Colin Holmes said in a low voice.

"Okay." Sitting in front of the mirror, "Do you need anything specially prepared?"

"No, you don't have to. Just dress yourself up."

Sharon Bailey's POV

Feeling that Colin Holmes was about to hang up, I called him in a hurry, "Colin..."

There was no reply, but I knew he was listening.

"You..." I hesitated for a while and finally made up my mind. "Colin, if I hadn't saved you, would you never have been with me?"

When I asked this question, my heart beat wildly.

I have known Colin Holmes for a long time. No, it should be said that I have known Colin Holmes for a long time. Over two years had passed.

We only met once in a restaurant in Alaska. I still remember the scene that day. The snow in Alaska in winter was snowing, and a black figure came into my sight. he looked so outstanding among the tall and strong northern beauties. The black suit was not suitable for such weather, but he showed his charm.

When he walked into the restaurant, I saw his face, angular and handsome

I took a picture secretly and went back to inquire about this man crazily. Later I knew his name was Colin Holmes.

I had thought that I would never have any intersection with Colin Holmes again, but i didn't expect that Colin Holmes would come to me once. There was only one question: "did you go to B City eight years ago?"

B city had a summer resort for Bailey Family. Sharon Bailey went there almost every year.

Colin Holmes didn't ask any more questions. Since then, we had more interaction with each other.

It was not until later that I got a word from Colin Holmes. It turned out that he came to me because I saved him!

I was shocked at that time, and then uncontrollably panicked. I didn't save him at all! Not at all! But at that time, I was deeply in love with him and couldn't tell the truth

As a man, Colin Holmes had no choice but to make women not love him. Especially if he was a little gentle, there would be countless women willing to fall into the fire. And I am no exception.

I can't lose the identity of the benefactor of Colin Holmes, so I keep this secret, accompany Colin Holmes, and stay by his side.

It was not until half a year ago that we came back that I proposed to be with him. He didn't say anything at that time, but his eyes turned cold when he looked at me.

In the end, he didn't say anything to refuse, but he didn't agree either. I just regarded myself as the girlfriend of Colin Holmes.

Sometimes I also recall that are we really boyfriend and girlfriend? There was no kiss, no hug, not even the most basic hand holding. When we walk together, Colin Holmes will keep a distance from me like a gentleman.

I don't believe it. I'm not reconciled. I asked that question again.

"If I hadn't saved you, wouldn't you have given me one more look?"

"Yes ."

He hung up the phone without hesitation.

My heart sank to the bottom of the valley

Married To My Ex-Fiancé's Silent Uncle Novel Cover
7.8
Twenty minutes before the "Wedding of the Century" at The Plaza, I stood outside the Presidential Suite in a fifty-thousand-dollar Vera Wang gown. I was the girl from a West Virginia trailer park about to marry Hugh Maxwell, the golden heir to a billion-dollar defense empire. I pushed the door open only to find Hugh pinned against the bed with my own stepsister, Floy. She was wearing my bridal diamond necklace, and the sounds of their laughter scraped against my eardrums like sandpaper. I didn't scream; I listened as Hugh grunted that once the wedding was over and the trust fund unlocked, he’d dump "that hillbilly trash" on a bus back to the mountains. They weren't just cheating; they were planning to steal my family’s land deeds and leave me with nothing. When I set off the sprinklers and exposed their naked bodies to the paparazzi, the Maxwell family didn't apologize. They called me a "greedy peasant" and threatened to ruin my life unless I signed a new deal to save their crashing stock. I realized then that I was never a bride to them. I was a transaction, a rounding error in a ledger to be used and discarded. They thought my poverty made me weak and my silence made me a victim. "If we don't have a marriage certificate by midnight, the bank freezes thirty percent of our liquidity," their lawyer warned. So, I gave them exactly what they wanted. I used a loophole in their hundred-year-old family covenant and married the only other direct heir available. I didn't marry Hugh. I walked into the ICU and married his uncle, Fleet Maxwell—the legendary war hero who had been in a vegetative state for months. Now, I am the matriarch of the Maxwell dynasty. I’ve suspended Hugh’s executive powers, exiled my mother-in-law to the Swiss Alps, and taken control of the family vault. They think I’m just a gold-digger waiting for a "corpse" to die so I can collect a fifty-million-dollar widow's payout. But last night, as I lay beside my comatose husband, the man they called a vegetable gripped my hand back.
