Betrayed By My Alpha Mate
Betrayed By My Alpha Mate Chapter 1
The night I was crowned the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack, I was dragged into a secluded forest clearing, attacked, and scarred. Acid was thrown on my face, leaving permanent marks that would forever remind me of my disgrace. The footage of the assault spread across the packs, and I became a pariah, stripped of my rank and burdened with debts I couldn’t hope to repay. Caleb Medina, my mate and Alpha of the Crimson Fang Pack, swore he would never abandon me. He promised to stand by my side, even as I worked tirelessly to repay the debts he claimed he couldn’t cover. I took on every task I could, from patrolling the borders to training the young warriors, desperate to prove my worth.
Six months later, while patrolling the outskirts of our territory, I stumbled upon a conversation that shattered my world. Caleb’s voice, cold and calculating, carried through the trees as he spoke to one of his Betas.
“Caleb, Maia’s been your mate for six years. You orchestrated her attack to benefit Indy Morrison, and you allowed her to be scarred. How could you do that?”
“What’s there to worry about? She’s just a Delta, and I’ve taken all I can from her. Indy is the future of this pack. With Maia always outshining her, I had no choice but to ruin her.”
The pain of his betrayal was unbearable, and I reached for the mind link I’d kept dormant for so long.
“Silas,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “I need your help.”
---
“After Maia’s downfall, I transferred all her resources to Indy, and she rose to prominence as a Delta in the Crimson Fang Pack. Everything I did for Indy was worth it!”
The heat of the summer sun did nothing to warm the icy chill that seeped into my bones as I crouched behind a tree, listening to Caleb’s words. He stood in the clearing, flanked by his Betas and Gammas, his posture relaxed and confident. Gone was the man who had pretended to be struggling, burdened by my debts. Instead, he wore the aura of an Alpha who had secured his future.
The warriors around him laughed, their voices harsh and mocking.
“Caleb, you really outdid yourself with this plan. The footage of Maia crying your name while those rogues attacked her—it’s brutal.”
“Maia’s strength was unmatched—truly captivating. Even I can hardly stand watching it. A real win for those rogues.”
“You really went all out for Indy, spreading Maia’s disgrace across the packs. It’s been the talk of every territory for months, and you’re determined to destroy her reputation!”
Caleb’s tone was dismissive, his voice cutting through the air like a blade.
“This way, the packs will always remember her disgrace, ensuring Maia remains a failure. Meanwhile, Indy, so pure and strong, will be easier for them to rally behind.”
One of his Betas gave him a nod of approval.
“I have to admit, Caleb, you’ve earned your title as Alpha. Pretending to be broke with Maia for six years, and she bought it!”
“When Maia had resources, she gave them all to you, and you turned around and invested them in Indy’s training. Now that she’s broke, working herself to the bone, she hasn’t asked you for a single favor.”
His words struck me like a blow, each one cutting deeper than the last.
“But Caleb, after six years as your mate, aren’t you afraid she’ll uncover the truth and challenge you?”
Caleb smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement.
“So what if she does? Her debts are in my hands; even if she sold everything, she couldn’t repay them. And who would want her with her face scarred, apart from me?”
“I’ve stood by her through it all. She should be grateful, and as long as she behaves, I’ll make it up to her.”
The Beta gestured to the footage on his phone, showing me exposed and vulnerable, and asked suggestively, “So when will you let us see what it’s like to face the former Luna of the Silver Moon Pack?”
I stood frozen, my heart shattering into a thousand pieces. The next moment, his cruel words stabbed me like a knife.
“She’s just been used up by those rogues, and her face is ruined. You still want her? Don’t you care about the disgrace?”
Tears spilled from my eyes uncontrollably. I stumbled away from the clearing, my mind a whirlwind of pain and anger. I found myself at the edge of a stream, staring at my reflection in the water. My face, once strong and proud, was now marred by the scars Caleb had allowed to be inflicted upon me.
Six months had passed, and the night I was violated and disgraced seemed like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. Everything had been a conspiracy. Six long years of loyalty, nothing but a trap set by Caleb.
To clear the way for his chosen mate, Indy Morrison, he destroyed my reputation, my strength, and my appearance on the day of my greatest triumph!
I remembered waking up then, Caleb holding me with eyes full of false tenderness, his voice soft and reassuring.
“Maia, don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
“What’s most important is that you’re alive. That’s what matters most!”
“Ignore what others say. I promise I’ll never reject you.”
He cradled me, offering endless comfort, his eyes filled with feigned concern. I thought he truly loved me, felt lucky that I had him, even after losing everything.
But the truth was so unbearably ugly. My heart was a frozen wasteland; this man was heartless, and the mate of six years turned out to be the greatest deceiver of them all!
I dried my tears, hesitated no longer, and reached for the mind link I’d kept dormant for so long. Silas’s voice answered immediately, calm and steady.
“Can you help me leave the Crimson Fang Pack?” My voice was hesitant.
There was a brief silence on the other end.
“In three days, I’ll arrange for you to leave.”
