Chapter 6
I immediately refused the food. "I may be tired but I never eat take out." I said, staring at his face.
He didn't say a thing, he glared at me. His face was cold and menacing, I feared him of course but I know for sure that he won't hurt me but why won't he?
I only mentioned it casually, why did he take it so seriously? I wondered
I cleared my throat, "I mean I will..." he walked into the kitchen with heavy steps. He turned the whole food into bowls and plates. "Seat." He muttered calmly but that was commanding.
"Why are you nice all of a sudden.?" I asked finally, but he didn't say a thing. "Seat." He whispered again.
Not wanting to provoke the thug, I sat down. The eating was quiet and cold. In a second, he stood up and walked into the room.
I knew he wanted to take a shower.
He did that every time we were done with every meal.
He stopped sleeping on the couch and never allowed me to sleep there either. It felt weird sharing bed with a stranger I have grown fond of. We barely talked but his presence in my life was something I couldn't understand.
I waited for his arrival, I didn't have his contact, but he always got his way to me. There was never a time he never returned.
As soon as I was done eating, I cleaned the whole place and went to the bedroom. I knocked but he didn't respond. I think he did that on purpose but for what reason? Even when he's naked, he would never say a thing but would allow me to walk in on him naked. He had a nice built body though.
I entered the room, 'gosh', he turned his back. Omg...it was to kill for.
As soon as he stepped out, I couldn't take my eyes off him.
His dark hair relaxed on his forehead, droplets slid down his sharp jaw.
His Adam apple moved as he swallowed. His eyes darted around.
I guess he was looking for something.
Looking at his broad shoulders
My eyes followed the water that ran down his abs.
I gulped down my saliva.
My breath became hot and eruptive.
His abs down to his abdomen, I couldn't help but salivate. Goodness, "Can you stop eating me with your eyes.?" He said irritated.
Startled and ashamed, I ran to the bathroom. "The pictures of his naked body began playing in my head.
I shook my head trying to get a grip of myself. Was I lusting after him? Or was I crushing on him? I couldn't tell but I was drawn to him somehow. Was it lust or crush?
I had no answers to that question.
Confused in thoughts
"What had Jude done to me?" I wondered.
Slowly entered the shower. It was uncomfortable dressing when he was inside, most of the time he leaves the room but sometimes he pretends as if I wasn't human.
He laid down on his side of the bed. With my shorts, I walked into the bed, his face facing mine. He gulped down his saliva and turned his face to the other side. A smile creeped on his face but why was that?. My heartbeat quickening.
He turned his back, moving towards me. "yo you want me?." he whispered.
My breath hitches, "What do yo...you mean?." My voice quivered.
He crawled over, his breath brushing against my cheeks.
My breath froze, "What did you say?" I panicked. A smile creeped on his face. He leaned closer, our faces inch apart.
My heart rose and fell intermediately. Gosh
He smirked and said, "Weren't you craving my body?"
I couldn't think or process any thought at that very moment. I stayed quiet. As if I was giving him a go ahead answer.
He removed the quilt covering us...my long legs in view. He stared at my legs.
I hurried up, "What do you want to do?" my face twisted in fear. Uncertain of what he would do next. Yes I admit he was damn good looking and his body? Oh no it can't just be described, It just as it is.
I ran from the bed, my tense hand grabbing onto the doorknobs.
I didn't know why but he started laughing loudly.
This guy was good and playing with me, he did that on purpose. I frowned.
"Why are you running away?...Am not interested in your tiny body, you could die under me." He said shamelessly.
I couldn't shake off the feelings that he was teasing and testing me.
But I have long fallen for this man.
I stood there not knowing if to go back into the bed or leave the room, but one thing was certain. He would never allow me to leave the room.
Gently I walked into the bed, I guess he was already asleep. I quietly covered myself with the quilt, looking at his firm chest, his throat, his captivating lips, he was the true definition of alluring dangerous temptation.

Cora crash-landed her escape pod on a brutal alien planet, only to be immediately hunted by a massive six-eyed beast.
A colossal black wolf dropped from the canopy and crushed the beast's neck to save her. But before she could even breathe, the wolf transformed into a towering, naked primitive man with glowing gold eyes.
He hauled her back to his savage tribe, where she was instantly treated like garbage. The women sneered at her fragile human body, and the men eyed her like fresh meat.
The tribe leader's jealous daughter even handed her a waterskin laced with a terrifying alien breeding drug, hoping to turn Cora into a mindless spectacle of lust in front of the entire settlement.
"Drink. You look like you're dying," the daughter sneered, waiting for Cora to lose her mind.
Cora was terrified and completely out of her depth. She didn't understand why this lethal Alpha warrior looked at her with such dark, consuming possessiveness, or why he was willing to slaughter his own people just to protect her.
How was a stranded human supposed to survive in a terrifying world where every plant, beast, and local wanted her dead?
"BEEP! Critical Warning! Liquid contains high concentrations of alien aphrodisiac herbs," her implanted AI assistant suddenly echoed in her skull.
Looking at the hostile tribe and the fiercely protective Alpha shielding her, Cora silently activated her tech interface. She wasn't just going to be a helpless pet in this savage world.

He postponed putting my name on the deed 18 times.
Each time, his mentee Ciera had an “emergency.” Each time, he ran to her.
I watched him give her his prized Montblanc pen—the one he wouldn’t even let me borrow. I saw her post their late nights on Instagram. I ate anniversary dinners alone while he “mentored” her.
Then he bought me a necklace—identical to the one she just flaunted online.
That was when I stopped feeling anything.
I didn’t cry. I didn’t fight. I simply packed two suitcases, resigned from our firm, and booked a one-way ticket to London.
He thinks I’m coming back in a week.
He has no idea I’m gone for good.
Nineteen broken promises. One silent goodbye. And a new life waiting across the ocean.

I was an intern nurse working exhausting shifts, yet my mother constantly forced me into blind dates with wealthy, arrogant men to secure our family's social standing.
During a terrifying hospital lockdown, an assassin disguised as a doctor held a scalpel to my throat. I was almost killed, but a high-ranking military colonel threw his own body down a flight of concrete stairs to shield me.
I survived with cuts and bruises, but when I went home, my mother didn't care about my near-death experience. She was only furious that I had rushed out on my blind date with Preston, a rich financial analyst.
She forced me to meet him to apologize. When Preston grabbed my arm, bruised me, and mocked my attack as a pathetic lie, my mother still took his side.
"Men get angry," she told me coldly. "It's your job not to provoke them. You will beg for his forgiveness, or you are no longer welcome in this house."
I had narrowly escaped an assassin, yet my own family was willing to feed me to a monster just for a fat paycheck and neighborhood gossip.
My heart went completely dead.
So, when the intimidating Colonel appeared, offering me maximum military protection through a sudden marriage, I didn't hesitate.
I walked back into my parents' house and calmly slapped a crisp marriage certificate onto the coffee table.
"I won't be apologizing to Preston. I got married today."

Today was my father's grand second wedding, but for me, it was the anniversary of my mother's death.
My new stepmother, Marley, who was only four years older than me, cornered me. To establish her dominance as the new Luna, she ordered her servants to force me to my knees and violently ripped my late mother's necklace from my neck.
It was the only memento my mother had left me. Marley sneered, threw it to the ground, and shattered the gems. When I scrambled to pick up the broken pieces, she dug her high-heeled shoe into the back of my hand, mocking me as dirty trash. No one stepped in to help. My father was too busy celebrating his new marriage under the dazzling lights, completely erasing my mother's memory and leaving me to be abused in my own pack.
My heart was full of grievance and despair. Why did my mother's lifelong devotion end with her grave desolate and her daughter humiliated? I swore I would never become a weak, discarded she-wolf whose life depended on a man.
Desperate to escape the suffocating wedding, I ran outside and stumbled right into the chest of a terrifying stranger.
"No one should ever touch what is precious to you."
His golden eyes blazed with fury as sparks instantly shot through my veins. He was Kade Blackwood, the ruthless Alpha of the feared Blood Moon Pack—and my fated mate.

I died on an apocalyptic battlefield, only to wake up pinned down by a lead-lined blanket of my own fat.
A violent download of memories hit me. I had transmigrated into the body of an exiled, sadistic noblewoman who was three million coins in debt.
The original owner was an absolute monster. She had purchased beastman guards just to torture them for fun. In the corner of the filthy room, a golden retriever boy cowered, his back shredded by her barbed whip. In the basement, a snake guard was frozen and scarred from constant electro-shocks. When the white tiger guard returned from hard labor, he looked at me with pure, murderous hatred, ready to tear me apart to protect the others. Even the local elites kicked down my door to mock my pathetic life and try to steal my men.
I was a decorated commander who bled for humanity. Why was I trapped in this ruined vessel, bearing the sins of a degenerate abuser?
It was all a setup by her sweet-faced cousin, Debera, who stole her royal life and sent her to this outer-rim hellhole to rot.
I gritted my teeth and plunged a military-grade gene repair serum into my arm, letting the agony burn away the black filth and weakness.
"The crazy woman you knew before is dead."
I tossed a medical kit to the trembling guards, loaded my old electromagnetic pistol, and headed for the deadly Demon Hunting Zone to start my revenge.

As the fetal monitor screamed in the delivery room, Danae begged the nurses to call her billionaire husband to save their dying baby.
Instead of Adrian, his chief lawyer arrived with a chilling directive: all emergency interventions were explicitly denied.
While security guards pinned her arms to the mattress, Danae was forced to listen to her baby's heartbeat flatline. The lawyer simply dropped divorce papers on her bed and walked out. A sympathetic doctor helped Danae fake her own death to escape the family. Stripped of her assets and kicked out into the freezing rain, she tried to drown herself with her child's ashes, only to be saved by a mysterious benefactor.
Three years later, Danae returned as a top medical researcher. But at a high-profile symposium, she crossed paths with Adrian and his new fiancée—a cheap lookalike of Danae. The woman maliciously staged a bloody miscarriage using a restricted chemical, perfectly framing Danae's lab for the crime.
Adrian pinned Danae against the wall, his eyes black with rage, vowing to make her beg for death. Three years ago, he let their real child die without even answering the phone. Now, he was ready to destroy her over a fake pregnancy.
Just as Adrian's private guards dragged her away to be locked up, the hospital doors were violently kicked open. A rival billionaire stepped in with a team of ruthless lawyers, shielding Danae behind his back and declaring war.
