Chapter 3

CHARLOTTE'S POV:-

I was sitting in the bedroom that belonged to Benjamin. I was one hell of a bride. I didn't even know the name of my husband until we got to his home. While he was taking his time to get to his bedroom, I decided to explore everything around. The bedroom was practically bigger than the garden in my villa. The walls were painted with black and the marble like designs with golden paint on top.

Everything was black in his room. Black furniture, black carpet, black sheets, black curtains. I walked into the bathroom and rolled my eyes. Even his bathroom was black. Including the towels. He was definitely a psychopath. Sighing in defeat, I walked back into the room.

I sat down on the edge of the bed, waiting for him. He stepped into the room right after and smirked at me. My heart suddenly skipped a beat and I frowned. "Stupid heart does the stupid things. Why am I not surprised?" I thought angrily. I gasped loudly as I saw him standing in front of me as I turned my gaze up again. I would have fallen off of the edge of the bed if I was not holding onto the sheets.

"What the heck is wrong with you? What are you? A demon?" I yelled at him angrily. He suddenly grabbed my jaw and pulled my face toward his.

"You have a big mouth. I will soon put it to good use." His words made me gag. I might have been innocent but I knew all the terms they used with each other.

"You are disgusting!" I stated and the smirk was wiped off of his face. His eyes darkened up as he leaned closer.

"What did you just say?" He asked me in a low tone, as if he was controlling his anger.

"Are you deaf? I said, you are fucking disgusting." I yelled at him again. This time, I added a little curse in it so he would hear me loud and clear.

He grabbed my neck. I braced myself for being thrown on the ground. I couldn't expect anything more from men like him. But instead, he kissed me. I whimpered in his mouth and froze while gazing into his eyes.

I wanted to push him away. I wanted to get away from him. But I could do nothing. He pulled away, licking my lips. That smirk was back on his face. I was breathing heavily, staring at his face. "Looks like you are starting to like the taste of my mouth." He whispered seductively in my ear, making me shiver.

"You are an asshole! I don't want to talk to you. I am going to the bathroom to shower and change." I growled at him angrily and walked toward the bathroom as fast as I could. I had no idea how I managed to yell at him. Because my heart was pounding against my rib cage and my legs were turning wobbly.

I shut the door of the bathroom and leaned against it. I clutched onto my chest to calm my heart down. This was the second time he had kissed me. The first time, it was a bruising and brutal kiss. I had to hide that hickey with dark red lipstick. But the one he just gave me, it was different. It was a teasing kiss and at the same time, something very seductive.

Shaking.y head, I walked into the bathroom. My head snapped in the direction where the mirror was and I froze again. I had no idea that there was a ghostly smile on my face. Too small for anyone to notice but I couldn't help but wonder; "Did he see this smile? Is that why he was smirking at me? Because he won."

I took a deep breath. It was not going to be an easy ride with him. And I just knew it. I took a quick shower and stepped out of the bathroom in a bathrobe. I was towel drying my hair when I felt someone standing behind me. Gritting my teeth, I turned around and glared at him. "Don't you have better things to do, Mr LeBlanc? I am tired. Get away from me." Pushing him away, I walked toward the bed.

I heard him scoff at me before he disappeared into the bathroom. I quickly changed into my pink pj's and laid down in the bed. While brushing my hair, I was thinking why God had destined me to marry an arrogant bastard like him.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find the answer. "Perhaps, I should ask Father John. He must have some sort of explanation why I ended up with someone I hated." I placed the brush down. As I was about to close my eyes, the bathroom door opened and a completely naked Benjamin stepped out.

I looked at him up and down and a loud shriek made him cover his ear. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" He yelled at me angrily. I only grabbed the bathing gown that I used and threw it on him.

"Cover yourself up. How can you be so shameless?" I asked angrily and he smirked.

"Don't tell me you haven't seen this in your entire life? You had a boyfriend, you said. There is no way you never went down on him or banged him?" He growled at me in a hatred dripping tone. Tears started welling up into my eyes as his harsh and humiliating words echoed in my mind again and again.

I covered my face with both of my hands and broke into tears. "How could you say such a humiliating thing about your wife? You said you knew everything about me. Yet you have no idea what kind of woman I really am?" I asked him, crying nonstop. Everything went silent in the room. Only my soft sobs could be heard in the room.

"You said it yourself that you have a boyfriend?" His voice made me jump as he was suddenly sitting near me.

"And you just assumed I would have let him touch me just because he was my boyfriend. I never even kissed anyone before. How could you say such mean things about me? You married me." I whispered sadly, I didn't even try to hide my disappointment.

The fact that my husband said those things about me, made me so sad. I turned around and pushed him away. "Don't come near me. You disgust me with the way you think. I hate you." I laid down on the bed and covered my head with the comforter. I just wanted to hide and cry. The night of my wedding, I cried myself to sleep.

The next morning, I opened my eyes and looked around the empty room with a surprised look on my face. An angry pout appeared on my face. "What kind of man he really is? He left without apologizing for his ugly mistake." I thought as I crawled out of the black king sized bed and walked toward the bathroom.

After a quick shower, I changed into a dark blue long skirt and a long sleeved white chiffon blouse. I tied my curly long red hair in a high ponytail. My curls dropped down on my back. Once I was ready, I grabbed my bag that had my books, wore my ankle wedge boots and stepped out of the room. I went downstairs and as I was about to leave the mansion, someone called me from behind.

"Where the fuck do you think you are going, little girl?" Raising one of my brows, I turned around and found Mrs LeBlanc standing behind me. Her arms were folded above her chest and she was glaring at me as if she was about to eat me alive. I rolled my eyes at her in annoyance.

"It's the first day of my university. I am going to attend it. " I replied in a low tone and Mrs LeBlanc started laughing.

"University? Really? Girl, you became the daughter in law of the LeBlanc family. There is no college or university for you. Women of the LeBlanc family don't continue studies." Mrs LeBlanc growled at me angrily and I frowned.

"Says who?" I asked angrily.

"Says me! Don't test my patience. Put those things back in your room and join us on the dining table." She ordered me angrily. I was staring at her face with a confused look on my face. "You didn't hear me? Do you want me to call my son?" She threatened me and that's when I lost it.

"Excuse me! I just don't understand your kind of woman. Just because you married a loaded man, doesn't mean you should have become a deadbeat. But then again, who am I to argue since it was the choice that you made. But since you were allowed to become a deadbeat over your man, doesn't mean I am interested in doing the same. I don't like becoming a burden for others." I responded to her senseless orders she gave me.

Mr LeBlanc was standing behind her, smiling proudly at me as if I had done something very good. While Mrs LeBlanc was shooting poisonous daggers at me. But I didn't care. "I am a woman with a strong ambition. And I will become a successful woman with my hard work. But not because I married someone who has money. Now, excuse me! I am getting late." With that, I turned around and left.

BENJAMIN'S POV:-

My friends were laughing at me as I told them about everything that happened to me on my wedding night. It was all my fault. I gave them the reason to laugh at me like that. "Oh my God! Is there actually a woman who is still a virgin? You said she had a boyfriend. And she claims that he never touched her. That's impossible." My friend, Greg, spoke in a low tone and began laughing at me again.

I was angry but I couldn't do anything since I had brought this upon myself. I rolled my eyes at them. I called them so they could help my situation. "What about her boyfriend? Does he claim the same or does he have something different to tell?" Silvester, my other friend, asked me in a low tone and I was left dumbfounded.

"I never really asked her boyfriend. I just heard Emily say that Charlotte and her boyfriend had been together since they started highschool. And the cheerleaders thought that Charlotte and her boyfriend had been banging each other." I told them what I had heard from Emily. Emily, my mom's best friend's daughter, was also Charlotte's classmate. It made sense how Emily knew everything about Charlotte.

"Really! And you believed it? Come on, Benjamin. You know Emily. She is a bully and mean girl. And we all know what they do." Johnny whispered while he was playing with the salt shaker in front of him.

"What if Emily and Charlotte are enemies. And since you decided to marry Charlotte instead of Emily after she did all those blowjobs on you, do you think she would have been fair while talking about Charlotte?" Johnny added in a low tone and I couldn't help but wonder if Johnny was right or not.

"Last time I listened to a mean girl, I drove my girl crazy. Her love was too sensitive. She is in a mental hospital, counting her days. I definitely don't want any of my friends to suffer from the same kind of heartbreak. The guilt just doesn't let you live in peace". Johnny added and I instantly felt bad. All of us were aware of what really happened to Johnny and the woman he loved.

"Then what should I do? My mind is numb. I can't come up with any solutions." I growled in annoyance. I just wanted to know the truth. Charlotte's reaction couldn't be false. She looked heartbroken when I said those mean things to her.

"My suggestion, ask her boyfriend. If she actually didn't let him touch her, and she married you in the end, he must be pissed. He will bark it off instantly." Silvester spoke in a low tone and I couldn't help but consider his idea.

"And what if he lied to me?" I asked. There was a possibility he could lie to me so I would break it off with Charlotte.

"Try and find out if he is broke or anything. If he had been with Charlotte for this long without touching her, he must have an agenda he was following. Find out what made him stay with her without getting sexy time. You'll have leverage to use against him." Johnny added and I smirked. It was definitely not a bad idea.

I sat alone at my long marble dining table, staring at a plate of cold truffle risotto. My husband, Jere, was late again, claiming he was stuck in a "war zone" of a board meeting for a multi-billion dollar merger. A single Instagram notification shattered the silence. It was a photo of a candlelit birthday dinner, featuring a man's hand resting on a white tablecloth. I recognized the slight veins, the jagged scar on the thumb, and the navy-faced Patek Philippe watch I had spent six months tracking down as a wedding gift. Jere wasn't in a boardroom; he was celebrating his ex-girlfriend Irina's birthday while texting me to "don't wait up." The next morning, I followed him to a VIP hospital wing. I watched through a cracked door as my husband cuddled a five-year-old boy and whispered tender promises to Irina. When he came home, he tried to buy my silence with a rare pink diamond bracelet, but I found the receipt: he had bought two identical ones. He had branded his wife and his mistress with matching jewelry, using hidden trackers to keep us both on a leash. When I confronted him, he didn't flinch. He coldly reminded me that he owned my father's massive debts and could send him to prison for insolvency fraud with one phone call. "Stop with the attitude, Deliah," he said. I felt like a ghost haunting my own life, trapped in a gilded cage by the man who paid for my mother's heart surgery while keeping a secret family across town. The humiliation peaked at our rescheduled anniversary dinner when Jere received a text, threw a stack of hundreds at me like I was a stranger, and abandoned me in a crowded restaurant to rush back to her. "Pay the bill," he commanded before walking out. Standing in the wreckage of a shattered crystal vase back at the penthouse, I realized my silence was the only thing keeping his empire standing. I pulled the crumpled divorce papers from my purse and signed my name with a steady hand. I wasn't just walking away; I was calling his sister to help me burn his perfect world to the ground.

The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead as I stared at the proposal on my computer screen, my eyes burning from hours of proofreading. The Sterling Tech subsidiary office had emptied hours ago, leaving me alone with the gentle hum of the air conditioning and the occasional ping from the security guard's desk downstairs. I glanced at my watch—11:43 PM. Michael should have been done with the corporate gala by now. He'd promised to call when it ended at ten, but my phone remained silent, its screen dark and accusatory on my desk. "Just one more page," I whispered to myself, massaging my temples. I'd been doing this for seven years—polishing Michael's presentations, fixing grammatical errors in his proposals, making sure every comma was in place so he could shine in front of the board. Tonight was no different, except for the heaviness in my chest that had been growing over the past few months. I saved the document and sent it to Michael's email, adding a simple note: *All done. Hope the gala went well.* No kiss emoji, no terms of endearment.
