Chapter 83

PRESENT

"Dylan I'm gonna ask her out tonight." Cyrus blurted out when he felt he couldn't think straight anymore.

He knows Aria has been through a lot in the past few weeks.

He knows that the male omega has been traumatized and that ever since that tragic day in the warehouse, Aria never wants to leave the penthouse anymore because she just wants to take care of Kiana, their pup.

She even took a leave from the recording company where she was supposed to debut as a soloist.

Good thing that Travis and Alyssa are her good friends so they let her take the break he needed.

"That's what I've been telling you for 2 weeks Cy, thank God you finally listened!" Dylan sighed.

"I know but she’s always been busy with Kiana, they're inseparable. Luna, even my own pup, doesn't even look for me anymore just like she used to. She doesn't cry at night anymore and...Felicia said Kiana is so happy that she might even forget that I'm her father." Cyrus said with a pout but Dylan knows better.

The sparkle on Cyrus’s eyes tells him that the pure blood alpha is actually happy knowing that his pup is getting familiar with her omega Mother.

"Do you want me to borrow Kiana so you can take Aria out tonight?" Dylan asked.

Of course he is very supportive of cousin because he doesn't wanna see him sulking everyday.

Also, he just wants Cyrus to finally be happy. He has been a witness of his cousin's miserable life when Aria left them.

"No, I'm thinking of asking Justin to ask Knight to take Kiana to the Prime Minister's house. I'm sure mom would be happy to see her granddaughter." Cyrus explained and It made Dylan soft.

This kind of life is what Cyrus deserves. The pure blood alpha deserves a parent who will support him to get his happiness and not to take it away from him.

Dylan is smiling ear to ear thinking that Knight may tease his little brother a lot, but he knows that he loves him.

"Okay then, stop drinking if you're planning to go on a date tonight. Good luck Cy. I'm going out with Harris also." Dylan says before walking out of the office.

AT KNIGHT’S PENTHOUSE

"Aren't you too early for dinner?" Knight asked the moment he opened the door to his house and saw his little brother who looked extra handsome that evening obviously dolled up. He couldn't remember if they were to celebrating something.

"Wait, but I asked Justin to---"

"Not gonna happen when Aria  volunteered to cook dinner tonight. Mom and dad are coming over too little bro." Knight snickered as he widened the opening of the door.

Cyrus frowned when he heard the news. As much as he wants to spend more time with his parents, he also wants to have alone time with his mate.

"Ashbourne i swear to Luna you're---"

"You talking about yourself bro? last time I checked, mom and dad already updated everything about you Ashbourne." Knight replied with a cheeky grin, even after they learned that they're brothers, he still loves to tease the younger pure blood alpha.

He loves to make him jealous too even when Cyrus knows  that he's smitten with Justin.

"Whatever!" Cyrus rolled his eyes as he playfully shoved his brother on the side before he gets inside.

"Woah, that's not how you treat your biggest sponsor to your candidacy Mr. Future Prime Minister." Knight continues to tease him but Cyrus just glared at him before he went straight to the kitchen where the delicious scent is coming from, and it's not the food that he smelt but it's his mate's scent.

Cyrus silently thanked the Moon goddess for letting him smell his favorite scent after two weeks.

He leaned on the wall of the kitchen just silently watching Aria put some sauce on the chicken she was about to put in the oven.

The omega was so focused on what he's doing but the moment she feels the presence of the pure blood alpha, she immediately panics, leading her to accidentally drop the tongs she was holding.

"Oh.. sorry." Aria uttered even when she knew she didn’t have to apologize because no one was there except the two of them. Cyrus was quick enough to pick up the fallen tong.

"Here. I'm sorry. Did I startle you?" Cyrus asked even though he already knew the answer.

"N-no..uhmm I didn't know you're coming. I thought you were busy with the party list because Knight said---"

"Don't believe everything he tells you Aria..he's just..."

"Oh, so it's not true that you're probably tired? Because I decided to cook dinner because I thought you deserve good food after a long day?" Aria asked with her puppy eyes and Cyrus wolf was so eager to jump on her right at that moment.

"Oh...I mean..I...."

The two stared at each other so Cyrus can see how Aria bit her lower lip to stop herself from laughing because obviously the whole situation is so funny so when Cyrus finally let go of his laughter, Aria followed right after.

The two were laughing so hard when Kiana found them in the kitchen.

Felicia right behind the little girl but when the old omega saw that Cyrus was already there, she decided to leave the family so they could have their own little family time since Knight and Justin were also both busy setting up the table at the spacious balcony where they're going to eat dinner later.

"Daddy!" Kiana squealed excited to see her alpha father.

"My princess, daddy missed you so so so much." Cyrus replied as he picked up his daughter and showered her with tiny kisses.

The two are exchanging greetings and telling their days to each other animatedly and Aria has the chance to look at her mate and their pup.

She couldn’t help but smile while watching how Cyrus playfully interrupts their daughter with his kisses while the little girl is telling him about the new doll house her uncle Knight bought for her.

The omega didn't even notice the pool of tears in her eyes while watching the two because she was so happy to see that her dream life is  Reality except, well, her relationship with her mate.

"Ria?" Cyrus immediately senses the change in her scent and even Kiana turned to face her and saw her tearing up.

"Hey what happened? I don’t see onions here so don't even lie about it." Cyrus is fast to walk towards the omega while still carrying their pup.

"Sorry, I think it's the garlic in my hands. I forgot that I hadn't washed my hands yet when I rubbed my eyes with it." Aria lied as she pretended to wash her hands in the kitchen sink.

"Pwetty pwincess, swafety first, swafety swecond, swafety thwird." Kiana chants while pulling some kitchen towels from the box Cyrus is holding so they could give it to Aria  who can't help but smile upon hearing her.

Aria knows it's Cyrus’s motto whenever they were doing something and she’s  so happy to know that their Kiana already learned it in her early years.

Cyrus smiled and gave his daughter a high five before he carefully put her on top of the encounter.

He knows Kiana wouldn't make any mess since she's not used to doing that in the kitchen but the moment he let her go, the little girl started to grab things around her.

Aria’s  eyes widened when he saw Kiana opening and pouring the flour on herself.

"Nooooo...oh Luna!" Aria screamed  but it was  too late for Cyrus to stop his daughter's quick hands because they're both covered with flour.

And to make things worse, Kiana accidentally kicked the glass with milk Aria was about to use for the batter of the pie she was going to try making.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
