Chapter 82

2 WEEKS LATER

Two weeks Ian! IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS and I can’t even----"

"Fuck her?" Dylan cuts his cousin off.

They might be not related by blood but they both agreed that nothing would change between them.

They will still be partners, well not really in crime but I know you got the point.

"What the fuck?! No, that's not what ---"

"You don't wanna fuck her?"

"Of course I---hey! That's not the point! I mean, how do I tell her?" Cyrus says currently pulling his hair in his office.

It was just past lunch but his mind is already out of his office wondering what Aria and Kiana are doing now. He knows they're in Knight’s penthouse because Aria is yet to move out from his brother's place because they have all been busy organizing everything and just to make sure that the omega and their pup are both safe, Knight suggested that they could temporarily stay in his place because the whole area is tightly secured.

At first Cyrus refused the idea of course. He wanted to take Aria and Kiana back to their home but Aria was quick to agree to his older brother's suggestion. He sulked for days and Aria seemed firm on her choice so he just decided to wait.

Now it's been two weeks. two weeks of sleeping alone at their home.

He doesn't wanna go back to the mansion anymore and his broker already put his own penthouse on sale because he definitely doesn't want that place again, not after he almost lost his brother there.

Dylan wants to laugh at the pure blood alpha's state. He has never seen Cyrus as desperate as he is now aside from that night three years ago when Aria left.

He wants to laugh at him because three years ago, Cyrus was desperate to find Aria and now he's desperate because of the same person but obviously for a different reason.

"How did you confess to her before---oh, that's right, you didn't confess to her. you both just switched your eyes and just like that you jumped on each other, the next thing we knew you're mated! Why don't you do it again? You know...jump he---" Dylan wasn't able to finish his sentence because black cushion landed on his face.

"Hey! That's very unbecoming Mr. Future Prime Minister!" Dylan snickered at the younger who just aimed to throw the other pillow at him again.

"Dylan, can you not... I haven't agreed to the Prime Minis---I mean, I didn't accept the offer from dad yet and you know that. Plus, please....don't even add that to my plate right now because I feel like it's going to be overwhelming, what should I do?" Cyrus asked again, this time he wasn't able to stop himself when he walked towards his mini fridge and grab milk.

"You know, you'll look way hotter if you grab a glass and maybe a bottle of your whisky instead of that." Dylan teases him.

Cyrus closes his eyes as he sips at his favorite drink. This time, Dylan can't help but smile while watching the younger. He couldn't believe that in a span of a few months, Cyrus’s life made a whole 360. From his unsure career as a politician to his missing mate and the truth of his own identity.

To say that it was a roller coaster ride is an understatement if you'll ask Dylan because what Cyrus had in the past years was a total spaceship ride that landed on the moon only to be thrown back to the Earth again.

It was chaotic, scary and literally bloody because of the number of lives that went into waste just because of greed.

Dylan still feels sorry for Cyrus and Aria because he knows that the two are both victims of Julius’s evil heart.

He knows that the old man is probably rotting 6 feet under the ground but he can’t forgive him for letting his aunt, his own wife die when he could've taken her to the hospital when she had the heart attack that killed her.

Dylan sighs, and this time it's Cyrus’s turn to look at him with questioning eyes.

"Last time I checked, I was the one ranting because I couldn't figure out how to tell my mate who thought we aren't married anymore that we are still very much married." Cyrus blurted out.

He winces when he remembers Aria’s face 2 weeks ago when he took them back to Knight’s penthouse.

"Since Aria doesn't want to stay with the President, he has informed the family lawyer to prepare her own space but for now Aria wishes to stay at Knight’s place since she feels at home there. Would that be fine with you?--- wait, what should I call you?” Harris asked Cyrus who's looking back at him as if he doesn't know what to reply.

The truth is, Cyrus doesn't mind what name they all want to call him. He knows his parents already started to fix his legal documents the moment they both got his consent about it but as of the moment, his head is focused on what Harris just informed him.

He couldn't believe that his mate, his Aria , isn't going back home with him because the omega chose to go back to Knight’s place.

"Cy, I guess you can call him Cy for now." Dylan was fast to catch on since he knew exactly what Cyrus was thinking.

"Oh, alright then Cy. I know you're aware that Aria is being possessive of your pup too so I also wanted to remind you that she would surely ask you to take Kiana with her the moment you got out of the hospital. Would you be okay with that?" Harris asked with hesitation because he could see the veins almost popping on Cyrus’s temple.

He was so surprised when he heard the younger pure blood alpha's calm voice when he spoke for the first time.

"Of course, it's fine with me. Why wouldn't I be okay with that? If that would make my mate and our pup more comfortable then I'll let him stay in another pure blood alpha's den even when she could've just come home with me. Yes, I am very okay with that." Cyrus said that almost made the two alphas in front of him laugh out loud.

Harris was just about to ask him again when Aria finally got out of the room, this time she is carrying their pup who seems to be so familiar with her omega mother.

"We're ready to go home!" Aria breaks the silence when no one among the wolves greeted them.

It was only then when Dylan forced himself to smile before he ordered their security to get all the things from Felicia who's standing behind Aria and Kiana.

"Alright then Riri, Cyrus will take you to Knight’s home and I'll go with Dylan since I didn't drive today." Harris informed his cousin who just nodded at him in agreement.

The ride going to Knight’s penthouse is silent and uneventful minus the happy sound Kiana was creating whenever she sees colorful cars on the street.

Aria was so Focused on her pup that she didn't even notice the pure blood alpha sulking in the driver's seat.

It was only when they were finally inside the penthouse that Cyrus finally mustered his courage to speak to Aria.

The pure blood alpha asked Harris and Dylan to leave earlier so he could speak with his mate so the two older alphas left as he requested since they're also rooting for them.

Even Felicia immediately took Kiana inside Aria’s room with the excuse of cleaning her up so the fated mates could finally talk.

The thing is, as much as Cyrus wants to talk to the Omega, Aria feels the opposite way.

Aria wanted nothing but to get away from Cyrus because the truth is, her wolf is being a bitch to her.

The wolf inside her wants nothing but to submit to her alpha and Aria is so worried that she'll end up throwing himself at the alpha when they haven't talked about their current status yet.

"Ria..can we---"

"Cyrus, aren't you going home? I heard you have a meeting with Alex’s father?" Aria cuts her alpha off because she’s still so nervous to be around Cyrus alone.

The pure blood alpha wanted to tell his mate that he doesn't wanna go anywhere until they're done talking but he also noticed that Aria is wearing her scent blockers and so he took that as a hint that the Omega isn't ready for him yet.

"Y-yeah I'm actually going now. We have to settle everything with them. I will also visit Rina’s mom at the hospital later. Uhmmm...but Aria can we---"

"Oh, that's right, please tell her I'm going to visit her soon. Also, thank you Cyrus for doing this to her. I hope everything goes well ." Aria says before she went ahead to open the door for the pure blood alpha.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
