Chapter 80

The Prime Minister was informed that his youngest son and his family would be discharged. And since he was still busy with his duties as public servant, he just made sure that the family was well secured until they arrived at their home.

Cyrus did not want to give Aria a reason to be anxious, he chose to take his family back to their original home not Carter’s mansion, not to his penthouse where Knight was almost killed but the home he built for Aria three years ago.

Felicia knows the story of the house and she was very delighted when Cyrus  informed her about his plans. Aria could not  help but blush when Cyrus asked her to stay with them. She refused at first since they hadn’t talked about their status yet but Cyrus of course used the Kiana card.

Aria only said yes and only agreed to go with Cyrus to their old love nest for the sake of their daughter, and not because she couldn't get Cyrus out of her head.

They all settled into their old room immediately and Aria, who only agreed to be there because of Kiana, announced that she would stay with her pup.

Cyrus quickly carried his pup's crib into the master's bedroom and suggested Aria to just stay in their bed while he takes the couch.

Felicia who was just the silent observer  couldn’t help but smile.

She knows that Kiana's parents have a lot of issues to be discussed first but she's excited to see the two rekindling their old flame again.

It was almost sunset when the little family finally settled everything. Kiana is already sleeping in her crib. Aria was about to prepare dinner when she noticed Cyrus staring at her.

"Is there something else you want to tell me?" She asked but the alpha shook his head before he walked closer towards her.

"Why don't we just order food for dinner since we only have canned food here?" Cyrus suggested.

Aria immediately agreed to it since she is not in the mood for preparing dinner at the moment.

They all ate dinner in silence the moment their food arrived. Aria pretended she didn’t notice Cyrus’s behavior  throughout dinner but when Felicia took Kiana back to the bedroom, the omega finally snapped at her mate.

"Cyrus" "Ria?"

"What's wrong? What are you trying to hide from me? And please don't even try to lie to me because ever since I left you in Knight’s room, you kept zoning out." Aria said, worries are all over her voice.

Cyrus sighs. Of course Aria would sense it too. He already expected that his mate would surely notice it too but how else could he hide it from her when he is also freaking out about all the information his cousin told him

His mate, isn't just a pure blood omega, Kiana’s omega parent is the last and only heir of the Von-Dorn....the chosen clan of the Moon.

"Cyrus! See?! You are zoning out again! What are you trying to hide from me?"

"Ria... baby can I go see Dylan now?" Cyrus ignored his mate's question and asked her permission to go out because he feels like his head is about to explode with all the information he has discovered since the previous day.

"As in now? It's past 9PM already...but..uhm, sure Cyrus. J-just take care please." Aria replied when in truth she didn’t  want her mate to leave.

Cyrus senses his mate's hesitation but he feels like he also needs to do this. He wants to confirm the truth and he wants to see Dylan so that the older could verify it for him too.

The pure blood alpha didn't even bother to change his clothes. He just grabs his car keys and leans closer to Aria leaving a light peck on her forehead.

He was already by the door and ready to leave when he turned around. He knows tonight is the night that everything will change in their lives.

"Do you... Ria, why don't you come with me?" Cyrus asked with hopeful eyes.

"But how about Kiana and---"

"They'll be safe. I have my most loyal men guarding them and Tae...no one's going to hurt us again...ever." Cyrus replied.

Aria kept quiet the whole ride until they arrived at the familiar place she last visited three years ago.

"Cyrus, why are we here? what are we doing here?" Aria asked with wide eyes.

The place was not too dark since there were street lights illuminating them. The moon was also shining brightly above them so it's not really creepy and the fact that Aria really hates the place because it is where she thought her daughter was buried three years ago.

Cyrus didn't answer. He just quietly gets out of the car and opens the door for his mate. The two are silently walking towards the familiar tomb and when they are close enough, Aria finally notices the two men standing beside the tomb.

"Harris?" Aria blurted out when she recognized the other man beside Dylan who's also staring back at her.

"Ri,I'm so glad you're okay!" Harris replied before pulling her  into a tight hug. Cyrus was about to pull back his mate but then Dylan’s hand was already on him. His cousin gave him a look that reminded him that he has nothing to get jealous about because Harris Williams is Aria’s  long lost family.

"But why are you here? I mean, what are you doing here? You never showed up for months and I didn't expect to meet you here of all places?" Aria muttered when she pulled away from the older.

Harris gave his oblivious cousin another pat on the shoulder before he spoke.

"I'm sorry Aria. I was so busy in the past months but I guess there's no better time for us to see each other again, But I'm glad you're back with your mate now." Harris said with a smile.

Both Aria  and Cyrus started to blush when they heard the elder's words because they haven't settled anything between them still. Aria then to Cyrus. They already know the truth behind the pure blood alpha's real identity and it's only now that it's dawning on Aria that they're here for Cyrus to get his closure too.

Dylan took a deep breath before he also spoke for the first time. He knows a lot of things will change now but he believes that the Moon would have not created all the chaos if it won't put them back in order in the end. After talking to Cyrus over the phone a while ago, everything is clearer to the alpha. Neither of the fated mates is his cousin because the real Cyrus Carter is the one 6ft underground now.

The alpha sighs. He knows that after this evening, Cyrus would finally set things straight and he won't be his cousin anymore. They might remain as colleagues or maybe friends but he's sure that Cyrus would want to spend more time with his real brother.

"Thank you for coming here tonight. I also just want to pay respect to him...to the real Cyrus." Dylan says when  he finally mustered up enough courage in front of the assemblyman who became his cousin for years.

"Dylan..." Cyrus breathed when he saw Dylan’s teary eyes. He knows that it's the first time his cousin finally acknowledges the truth that he isn't the real Cyrus and it also hurts him to see his brother look so sad.

"You know that we may not be real cousins by blood but you're always a family to me right?" the alpha uttered to reassure the older alpha who finally lifted his gaze to look at him.

"I understand if you wanna go back to your family and--"

"Oh come on Dylan! Nothing would change. Maybe I'll just have to fix my last name because I don't think the Prime Minister...I mean my father would want me to continue to use this name.to the world starting the next few days I may be Ashbone but I will always be Carter for you." Cyrus  said with a small smile.

Dylan had  to bite his lower lips to stop himself from crying but when he saw Aria who was already in tears, he couldn't help but pull the younger into a tight hug.

"Of course Cy, you're always Cyrus to me." Dylan whispered to his ears.

The cousins were still hugging each other when Aria voiced out the question in her mind.

"Dylan, but who is buried here?" She asked.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
