Chapter 76

The next few hours was like a movie.

The media and the people were beyond shocked about the death of Julius  Carter and Alexandra Perez.

The story about the death of Von Dorn resurfaced as new evidence and witnesses pointed at Julius  Carter as the mastermind of the evil plan that caused the death of Mr. and Mrs.  Von Dorn-Thomson.

The President’s office also released a statement regarding the last and only heir of Von Dorn- Thomson being alive but they also refuse to talk about her whereabouts at the moment to secure her safety.

The announcement is followed by the announcement of the office of the Prime Minister about their long lost son.

The news about the death of Julius and Alex was immediately covered by the good news about the heir of  the Von Dorn- Thomson and the youngest  Ashbourne heir.

It was chaotic, the different platforms of social media were so hectic.

The nation starts to celebrate the lives of the two who have found their way home and the other younger wolves are even starting to joke about what if the two had eloped together when they were little kids.

There are lots of assumptions made but over all, the nation who got worried about the news of deaths immediately calmed down with the news of lives and for the President and the Prime Minister, that is all that matters now.

They said that sunrise symbolizes new beginnings while sunset signifies another end.

But for Lucius and Iris, the golden sun that is slowly fading on the horizon promises them that tomorrow is another day. The pure blood omega was crying on her husband's chest after the pure blood alpha informed her about Knight who just underwent a major surgery.

Iris Ashbourne had barely calm down when Lucius broke another life changing news to his mate.

"I swear to Luna, Lucius I'm gonna make you regret the day you marked and claimed me as your mate if I find out  you're joking around with my little one while my eldest is still unconscious on his hospital bed!" Iris jabs her dainty finger on her mate's chest.

He caught his mate's hand and wrapped his arms around her still tiny waist. The pure blood alpha couldn't help but smile a little when he realized just how much Cyrus looks exactly like his mother. He got his doe like eyes from her too.

"I'm never going to regret the day I made you mine beautiful woman. And no, I'll never fool around you using the pain you have to suffer when our little one was kidnapped. I've found him darling, I've finally found our Zaden." Lucius said and this time even Iris could hear the sincerity in her mate's voice.

The couple were sitting inside the chapel of the private hospital where both Knight and Cyrus are admitted. It has been a very eventful few days for them and Lucius tried his best to do his responsibility as the Prime Minister of the nation while doing his obligation as a father to his sons.

It has been so tiring and the exhaustion is written all over his face already but knowing that he has found his other son keeps him going.

"Mr. Prime Minister, please don't do this to me. Where is he? Where is my Zaden?" She says as she starts to cry again.

"Darling, remember how we both adore the handsome Assemblyman? You know, the one with a good voice when he was giving his speech to---"

"Cyrus Carter? Of course I remember! He is the only handsome Assemblyman darling!" Iris cuts him off and when he sees the sparkle in her husband's eyes, she feels like her heart is about to explode when a realization slowly hits her.

"N-no...there's no way..." she stammers but she's already on her feet ready to run towards Cyrus once she gets the confirmation from her mate.

"It is a long story darling, but yes....Cyrus, that boy....he's our little Zaden." Lucius smiled at his mate who was already covering her mouth with her hands.

The couple hug each other for a few more minutes because Iris couldn’t stop crying.

Lucius is releasing a lot of calming pheromones too until he starts to feel his mate's wolf howling in happiness.

"I want to  see him. Lucius, please take me to our son." Iris says after pulling away from her mate.

The Prime Minister suddenly smiled awkwardly when he realized that Cyrus still had still no idea of the truth. Iris immediately senses her mate's predicament.

"Don't worry darling, I'm not going tell him if you haven't told him yet but I just want to see him. Oh my Luna, does it also mean that Aria is our daughter -in-law? If she is Zaden’s mate and---"

"Darling, it's Cyrus. I know we named him Zaden but until we have talked to him about it, we have to call him Cyrus so that we won't freak him out." Lucius says with a smile.

He is beyond happy to see Iris free from the pain that she's been carrying for years.

"And really my Iris? With all the things happening here all you have to say is that Aria is still our daughter-in-law? I mean, I don't mind it at all but....remember that Knight likes her too."

"Lucius! Do you really believe that my Knight wanted Aria that way? Did you not notice how your eldest looked at Aria? It's as if he was looking at a cute pup! Knight probably sensed his brother's blood and bond with Aria because she is carrying Cyrus’s mark. You should've known that!" Iris says as if she's explaining to a little kid.

"You're the one who keeps telling me that Knight and Aria look cute together my Darling. Why are you telling me this now?" He replied because in all honesty he also felt the same thing when Knight introduced the young omega.

It is also the reason why they didn't disagree with the fact that Aria was  living with their pure blood alpha son.

"You know I was only teasing Knight and Justin.

You know I'd love Justin and our Knight is such a fool not to see that his best friend is in love with him. I just want to push Justin and maybe make him a little jealous. You know those two have been dancing around each other for years now" She replied with frustration laced on her voice.

This time, the Prime Minister's face softened upon hearing his mate whining about their eldest's non-existent love life.

"Don't worry darling, I'm pretty sure that Cyrus and Aria would help their brother once they all get better already. You know, Knight did an excellent job protecting his little brother this time. He made himself bait just to make sure that Cyrus’s Kiana is safe even when he wasn't even sure that Cyrus was really Zayden." Lucius said and he also informed his wife about everything that happened after that.

Iris was so amazed how her two sons' fate intertwined but she's more surprised when Lucius also informed her about Aria being the missing only heir of the Von Dorn-Thomson.

The couple talked about their sons for a few minutes before they both finally decided to visit Cyrus and his family in their private suite since Knight is still in the ICU for his recovery.

Cyrus is finally awake. He stared at Felicia who was staring back at him. The two are so quiet because Aria and Kiana are still sleeping but the pure blood alpha can't help but feel so emotional the moment he sees Felicia  in their suite.

"F-Felicia, you're alive." Cyrus uttered while trying to fight his tears from falling. The omega nods as she moves towards the younger alpha and crushed him with a tight hug.

"I'm glad you're safe now Young master. Gosh, I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect Kiana. I was so scared when I saw how they killed Knight. I thought I was going to die." Felicia starts to cry while Cyrus pulls the older woman for another tight hug just to reassure her that no one will hurt her again.

"Thank you. Thank you for being strong for my Daughter when I wasn't there to protect her. Also, that-...I mean knight is probably recovering now.

He's pure blood so I'm sure he's pretty healed by now." Cyrus says as he tried his best not to give attention to his fluttering heart.

"Yes young master, he is probably healing now. You owe that man a gratitude. He was so ready to die while protecting your little girl as if she's his own blood." Felicia said with a smile but Cyrus just frowned upon hearing it though he couldn't really find it in himself to get mad with the idea.

"He is just a show off. He could've died. But yes, of course I'll thank him once he can hear me already." Cyrus says with a smile.

Felicia was about to say something when they noticed Aria waking up. Cyrus is so quick to walk towards the other hospital bed where his mate and their baby are still sleeping.

"Ria, how are you feeling? Do you need anything? Are you hungry? Are you hurt or---" Cyrus only stops talking when he realizes that he's scenting Aria. He didn't realize how drawn he is to his mate's scent since the scent blocker has already worn off.

"I-I'm fine Cyrus, thank you for asking. But can I have some water please?" Aria asked shyly because she may not admit it but she is enjoying the close proximity she  shared with the alpha just a few seconds ago.

Cyrus is quick to grab a water bottle and a clean empty glass from their mini pantry inside the suite. He even helped Aria drink the water by not letting go of the glass until the omega was finished.

"Thank you."

"Is there anything else you need? Food? Do you want to eat something? Are you craving anything? Do you want---"

"Cyrus, I'm not pregnant. Why are you asking me as if I am carrying your pup?!" Aria suddenly blurted out when she remembered the very familiar scene between them.

She remembers the very first time they made love and right after the next morning, Cyrus had already started asking her of her cravings as if he was so sure that he was already pregnant that time.

"I'm not saying your pregnant Ria, it's just that you haven't eaten and I'm worried that you might---"

"I'm okay Cyrus, thank you for asking me. How about you, how are you feeling now?" Aria asks her mate as she remembers that Julius is dead.

Cyrus paused at the side of the bed when he suddenly realized it too. The horrible and tragic incident the previous night starts to flash in his mind and as much as he doesn't want to show Aria his pain, the omega still sensed it.

"Cyrus, I'm here...if you need someone to talk about it. Please know that I'm here." Aria says as she reaches out for the pure blood alpha's hand.

Cyrus forces himself to smile as he gently squeezes Aria’s hand.

"Thank you Ria. I'm okay baby, I'm okay as long as you and our pup are both okay." Cyrus replied as he moved closer so he could kiss her crown.

"We're okay now Cyrus. We'll be fine now." Aria whispers back as she wrapped her arms around the alpha's torso.

The mates were still in that position when the Prime Minister and his wife entered the suite.

Aria eyes widened with surprise when she saw Cyrus’s real parents.

 "Auntie Iris!"

"Oh Riri, I'm so happy to see you and your pup." Iris replied with a smile before her eyes landed on Cyrus who's now having a staring contest with the Prime Minister.

"And you too, Mr Carter, I'm so happy to see you safe." Iris says while trying to hide the excitement and longing in her voice.

"C-Cyrus. You can call me Cyrus, ma'am." the pure blood alpha replied to the older omega.

Aria, Lucius and Felicia are all beyond surprised when Iris suddenly ran towards Cyrus and threw herself towards the young pure blood alpha.

Good thing that Cyrus is quick enough to catch the older woman in his arms.

"I'm so happy you came back." Iris whispered to her son's ears when she finally managed to embrace him.

Jungkook is so confused by the older woman's action but the moment he inhales her scent, he suddenly feels like the permanent pain etched in his heart is slowly fading.

His eyes are slowly closing as he pressed his nose into the woman's shoulder as if he belonged there. He feels like he finally arrives at his destination after a long journey in the middle of a desert. The moment Iris cups his face and their eyes meet, Cyrus suddenly feels like he has found his way home.

He has heard things about the Ashbourne Family before so he knows about the missing youngest son of the Prime Minister.

So at that moment, when Iris leans closer to leave a light peck in his forehead despite their height difference, Cyrus suddenly felt like someone just deleted all the pain in his heart.

"You really finally came back home to us." Iris whispered as she wiped the tears rolling on Cyrus’s cheeks.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
