Chapter 74

"Are you telling me that Cyrus and Aria were both lost only to find each other again? I mean, how is that not a huge bullshit? How could you not recognize your son? And why would you not claim Aria if you've already verified that she’s  your niece?" Dylan snapped

He couldn't believe what he just discovered.

"What is this chaos and who----Dylan?" Harris blurted out the moment he recognized his friend.

One of the staff members of the president sent him a message that they spotted the Prime Minister entering with someone. He already learned about what happened to Knight so he came as quickly as he could to ask the Prime Minister about his friend.

He's about to wait outside the office of the president but since the door wasn’t closed properly, Harris managed to hear someone yelling inside.

At first he got worried for his uncle's life because he thought they were under attack but then he heard Aria and Cyrus’s name so he carefully leaned on the door to listen.

The voice he heard is so familiar and since he couldn't see the face of the owner he just decided to barge in before the guards intervene because no one is allowed to raise their voice towards the President.

Clearly, Dylan forgot that rule already because of what he learned.

"Harris! What the hell are you...wait, you're the nephew he's talking about?" Dylan asked while pointing at the president who's wearing a smug face while watching the young men.

"Dylan, did you just disrespect the president like that? And I'm sorry I forgot to mention to you about my uncle. I just thought it wasn't necessary." Harris said with a timid smile.

"Not necessary?! Wait.. so you knew Aria was his niece and your cousin when you met her in New Zealand? Is that why you---"

"I’ve been following her since Cyrus claimed and mated her. We were just waiting for the final result of the DNA we took from the kid who died in the fire to verify everything. Then when we were ready to take her back and introduce her as my cousin, she was already on the run so i had no choice but to follow her to New Zealand. I didn't know how else I’d be able to help her when I heard her story, I just knew I had to protect her from the Carter’s so instead of telling her my identity, I introduced myself as a friend and hoped she won't get mad at me when I tell her the truth." Harris said with a little hesitation.

Both Dylan and Lucius were speechless.

They both didn't know what to say anymore because everything about Aria’s real identity is now out in the open.

They also both understand why the family decided to keep her a secret because they hadn’t caught who the mastermind of the crime yet.

The four alphas in the room looked at each other as if trying to read each other's thoughts about the whole thing.

"You know what, leave it. I mean, I'm sure you just want the best for Aria. And now that Cyrus has his mate back, I don't think I have to worry about Aria anymore. I know my cousin...I mean, I know Cyrus wouldn't let anyone hurt Aria again." Dylan said with finality in his voice.

The Prime Minister smiled at the younger alpha before he spoke.

"Mr Ross, I don't know what kind of relationship you have with my son but with what I have seen last night I know he trusts you with his life. Him being an Ashbourne by blood doesn't mean he's not your family anymore. Thank you for being by my son's side when we couldn't be there to protect him."  He said with a sincere smile.

Dylan doesn't want to speak anymore. The lump in his throat keeps getting bigger with the thought that Cyrus will be back with his real family now.

He is both happy and sad because finally the assemblyman would finally be with his real family but at the same time, he knows he'll miss him so much.

The silence in the office of the President is starting to become awkward then Dylan’s phone starts to ring.

He was about to cancel the call when he saw that it's Cyrus’s phone number so he quickly accepted it.

"Rus what---"

"Mr. Ross, this is Felicia. Young master and Aria are sleeping. the doctor gave them a shot so their bodies could rest because they both refused to sleep." Felicia explained immediately since she knows Dylan would be confused.

"Oh, okay that's good. Those two deserves to rest. Wait, you're at the hospital now. Are you with Kiana? Felicia please don't let anyone near that child again please. Stay in the room with her parents. The Prime Minister's men are there to protect you so you have nothing to worry about." Dylan reassures the older omega since he could still sense the anxiety in her voice.

"Mr.Ross...they are safe now. I...gosh, they are finally safe now. No one can hurt them anymore." Felicia suddenly burst into tears.

Her hands are still shaking Naomi who is standing beside her sister-in-law moves closer to hold her.

"W-what do you mean no one can hurt them now? How did you know that?" Dylan asked, his voice laced with doubt.

"You have to come back here Mr. Ross, you have to come see Naomi! I can't believe that I have been serving the same person who killed my brother!" Felicia is now sobbing while talking to the alpha. She still couldn't believe that Naomi managed to hide all these secrets for years.

She called her a while ago after her abductor told her that he couldn't kill her. She called her family immediately and learned that her sister-in-law is in the city too, that's why they're now together.

Donna still couldn't believe Naomi suddenly burst out crying when she told her that Julius and Alex tried to kill her.

When the omega started to cry, Felicia asked her about it and that's when Naomi finally confessed about the death of her mate, Henry.

Dylan is still confused about everything that's going on.

He hasn't slept and he feels like his brain is about to explode but he is also worried about the older omega. He ended the call and promised her that he would get back to the hospital as soon as he could.

The President and the Prime Minister are staring at him as if they were waiting for him to spill what was the call all about so the alpha told them about it.

"I honestly don't know what's going on but Felicia is Kiana’s nanny and apparently there's another omega with her who knows something about Julius so I'll have to go back to the hospital to know what they have for us." Dylan said.

Harris and the president exchanged a knowing look before they turned to the alpha.

"Dylan, did Felicia mention the name Naomi?" he asked.

"Yes, from what I've understood is..that Naomi was her dead brother's mate." Dylan said and this time, Lucius couldn't hide his reaction anymore.

"Naomi... she's alive! We have been searching for her for years but the PI informed us that she died because she wasn't able to take the pain when her mate died! They were the most loyal staff of Desmond’s family!"

Dylan’s eyes widened again. He isn't even sure of what to think anymore because it seems like the Moon really made sure to give the   Von Dorn- Thomsons, the Ashbourne and the Carter’s a fuckinf twisted plot of their lives.

In the end, the four men agreed to use the new information they have found to create the story behind Julius Carter's death.

The prime minister knew the press might turn the events and put it all on his son so he made sure to have a perfect alibi for the whole warehouse raid.

They also know that Alexandria’s father won't sit still for his daughter’s death so they made sure to have all the evidence pointed at his daughter.

Dylan knows that he has a lot of work to do for Cyrus who's still sleeping at the hospital but despite the exhaustion, he chose to go back and meet with Felicia instead of going home to take a rest.

Healing My Seven Broken Beast Mates Novel Cover
9.4
My retirement was finally approved, and I was supposed to be sipping drinks on a sunny beach. Instead, a cold system voice forced me into a nightmare scenario: "Cursed Mates Who Want Me Dead." I woke up in a stinking cave, trapped in the body of a psychopathic tribal princess. The memories that flooded my brain made me sick. The original owner of this body had forcibly marked seven of the continent's most powerful beast-men and reduced them to tortured pets. She had ripped the shimmering scales off Jordi the Merfolk prince, gouged out a proud wolf-man's power crystal, and snapped an eagle-man's magnificent wings. Now, Jordi was a mutilated, terrified mess hiding in a corner. He was so traumatized that he tried to slit his own throat just to escape me. His sister was actively trying to assassinate me. To make matters worse, the system warned me that if I didn't heal these seven ticking time bombs, my soul would be erased. Yet the future timeline clearly showed that these men would eventually unite, burn my tribe to the ground, and dismember me alive. I was paying for a monster's sins. Every time I tried to show mercy, they thought it was a sick new torture method. Words were useless, and my very presence was a trigger. But I am a Tier-S operative, and I don't play the victim. I forced the system to unlock my powers and strapped on my tactical gear. "Stay here and don't starve." I left the trembling Merfolk behind and walked into the deadly primitive forest, heading straight for the powerful Oasis Tribe to take back his stolen scales by force.

Ninety-Nine Times, Then No More Novel Cover
7.3
This was the ninety-ninth time I caught my husband, Chase Vargas, with another woman in our five-year marriage. I stood in the hotel doorway, numb, tired of the cheap perfume and his cold, familiar eyes. But this time, his mistress, a blonde woman, hissed, "He told me all about you. The pathetic wife he's stuck with because of some business deal. He said he can't stand the sight of you." Her words, meant to hurt, were things I already knew, things Chase had made sure I understood. Still, hearing them from a stranger felt like a new humiliation. She lunged, scratching my face, drawing blood. The sting was a surprising jolt in my numb world. I wrote her a check, a routine part of this pathetic scene. Then my phone rang. It was Chase, calling from across the room. "What are you doing? Are you making a scene? Clean it up and get out. You're embarrassing." He thought I had orchestrated this, that I was the embarrassing one. The betrayal was casual, complete. "I'm tired, Chase," I said, the words finally coming from a place I thought had died. "I want a divorce." He laughed, a cruel sound. "A divorce? Elena, don't be ridiculous. You love me too much to ever leave me." I hung up. He then handed me a signed divorce agreement, telling me his true love, June, my adopted sister, was back. He wanted me to play the dutiful wife for her welcome-home concert. My heart, which I thought had turned to stone, felt a final, crushing blow. He wasn't divorcing me because I wanted it. He was divorcing me for her. I signed the papers. The ninety-ninth time was the last time he would do this to me.
