Chapter 4

Alina stared outside the bedroom window filled with thoughts from the incident earlier. Today, she has the opportunity to become a free woman. Free from Zach's mistreatments and torments.

But then, she was carrying his child. A child he obviously didn't want. She tried to make a decision, she couldn't think of anything. And begging him was way out of the picture.

She's been doing that for years and it never did her any good. But instead, it complicated things the more for her. Zach had broken their bonds because he didn't care at all.

He hurt her so much, he's humiliated her several times as well. Alina felt a Sharp pain in her abdomen and her thoughts immediately went to the doctor's words the previous day.

If she played with her health, she would end up losing the baby. She almost panicked. Even though she was done with Zach, she still wanted to keep their baby.

She immediately dressed up and headed out of the mansion. She didn't go with the driver this time but with a taxi she boarded in the streets.

Alina arrived at the hospital minutes later.

Moments later, Alina heads outside the mansion in company with the doctor as they were both discussing. He educated her on exercises and practices to keep the baby healthy.

He was glad to see her determination to keep the pup alive and healthy..

Alina left the hospital, heading outside the exit when she heard someone call out to her. She recognized his voice even before she looked at him.

It was Mr Rogers, her father's right hand man and Beta. A man who was just like a father to her.

He walked up to her in haste, hoping that she wouldn't run before he caught up.

"Luna Alina, it's a pleasure to find you after all these years," he said, giving a slight bow to her. Alina was stunned and speechless.

She left the pack years ago, how did they find her? She greeted him back but wanted to leave. She already started to live her own life and not the one they'd dictated for her.

Alina didn't want to cause any trouble. But then, a few more guards dressed in black surrounded her.

"Please Luna, give us a chance to speak with you. Your father and the pack need you immediately" he said.

*****************

Alina couldn't help but think about everything she was told earlier by Mr Rogers. If truly her actions almost cost them the pack, then she must go back immediately.

Three years ago after she broke up with Zach and returned home, she insisted on marrying a certain alpha in order to regain the pack's power but she never did because of her love for Zach.

She left the pack and pursued Zach for months before he finally allowed her into his life and they got married. Now, he's seeking a divorce and all her efforts proved futile.

She immediately made a decision, she would definitely allow Zach to have his way this time. She wouldn't chase him anymore. She wasted three years of her life with him which was enough to pay the price of her actions years ago.

The taxi alighted right in front of the mansion and she stepped outside feeling like a new woman. Alina walked into the mansion with only one thing in mind. Signing the divorce documents and moving out.

She did it all in one hour, she didn't pack all of her stuff, she only took the important ones. Alina dragged her luggages downstairs, heading to the dining room where the divorce documents were kept.

She picked up the prepared pen and signed without hesitation. "Alina, you're finally free" she muttered to herself with a huge sigh.

In no time, Mr Rogers arrived, accompanied with a convoy to pick her up. As she dragged her bags outside the mansion, two guards from Mr Rogers came to assist her.

She walked towards the car and got inside. She was a bit exhausted, she had been doing a lot of thinking all-day. The car drove at high-speed heading to the airport since they had to reach the country by tonight.

Throughout the flight, Alina felt sick to her stomach. She naturally didn't like traveling by air, coupled with her pregnancy.

She finished puking for the last time before the airplane landed. She looked at the mirror in front of her and smiled. "Lina, this is going to be the last time anyone would make you feel this way!" She vowed to herself, grabbing her shirt by the chest as it hurts her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At midnight, Alpha Zach arrived at the mansion after having a rough day at the office. For a moment, in his thoughts, he wished he'd listened to Alina and didn't force her to get a divorce. However, he still thinks that she might have stayed back at the mansion.
He walked into the living room which was totally silent. He recalled the times she'd welcome him back and he'd shun her away and brush her off. He wasn't too pleased with himself but this was the same woman who made him look like a fool so many years back.
When he sensed the silence in the atmosphere, he knew that Lina was no longer there. It made him go silent, he was a bit confused. He rushed towards the dining room where he saw the divorce papers. He quickly picked it up to check if she had signed them.
She did, she even put a note inside for him
I do not need your alimony, Zach.
He read inwardly. Zach immediately rubbed his temples. He made his way upstairs trying to find her but he found the room empty and only a few of her clothes were there.
He panicked, rushing outside the bedroom where he came across Mr James, Lina's personal driver. "Where is she? Where is Luna?" He asked immediately, his heart beating fast. He just realized he'd pushed her too much.
The man was a bit confused by his questions because he knew that Lina was in the bedroom earlier after they'd arrived from the hospital.
"Alpha, what's going on?'' the elderly man asked.
"She left, I asked her for a divorce, she signed it and left. I regret it, I really do. I've pushed her too much" he almost cried out but the man reassured him.
He went inside the room to search as well, hoping that it was all a misunderstanding because Alina was carrying his child. This never should've happened.
He came back outside and he picked the divorce documents on the floor and read them. It was all true, she signed them and was nowhere to be found. He didn't see her leaving as well.
"Alpha, you cannot let Luna go. She is carrying your child!" Mr James announced.
Zach was dumbstruck for a few minutes, and his thoughts went back to the previous day when she called him on the phone and he asked her to get rid of any pregnancy she had.
"S... she is pregnant?" He immediately asked, confusedly. "Since when did you find out?''
"Two days ago.. I wanted to tell you, she begged me not to" Mr James explained but Alpha Zach wasn't having it.
"How could you keep this away from me for two days, James?" He growled angrily.
Without wasting any time, Zach grabbed his car keys and left the mansion. He immediately called his Beta to check all of the hotels in the city.
"Alpha, the Luna hasn't checked into any of the hotels" Adolphus called back and explained.
"Find her, close the airports if possible. She mustn't leave the city" he declared.
"Alpha, I'm afraid that will be impossible. I just got some information that she already left the country!"
"W- what?"
