ALPHA'S REGRET: RECLAIMING MY REJECTED LUNA Chapter 1

THIRD POV

While Luna Alina was busy preparing dinner and decorating the house for their third anniversary, Alpha Zach, her husband, sparked headlines on the internet.

He is seen stepping out from a guest house with a beautiful woman by his side. Both locked hands romantically in matching outfits, the woman, the daughter of a top Alpha in the state, Bella.

"Gosh!!! Alpha Zach and Bella are so cute together."

" My favorite couple of the year."

"Both of them will make adorable kids."

More comments were made in the picture with over a thousand heart emojis.

Alina zoomed into the picture, sliding to the woman's face. She quickly recognized her.

Besides being a famous model Alina knew Bella to be Zach's ex-girlfriend and the daughter of Alpha Zeus, one of Zach's business associates. An important one at that. Zach himself introduced the two of them and by the way he looked at Bella, Alina Knew he hadn't gotten over her just yet.

Tears poured from her eyes, she remembers Zach saying he was going for a business meeting. Had they met coincidentally at a meeting? She thought to herself, more tears dropped down her eyes as she thought about their marriage. She'd been his wife secretly for years, Zach has never thought of flaunting her as much as he did with Bella.

She then felt a piercing pain in her head like someone was poking tiny needles into them followed by a nauseating feeling. Alina quickly switched off her mobile phone, abandoning the decorations half way.

Across the room is a table full of different dishes with a bottle of champagne to celebrate their marriage. Even though it didn't seem much of a marriage since it was a one-sided love.

Zach has been her childhood love, she crushed on him for so many years ago they even dated. However, when she found out his identity as the son of her father's enemy, she broke their relationship and transferred schools. Then, Zach was one of the popular Alpha males in school, he was a few years older than her, she was barely sixteen, they managed to maintain their relationship until she was eighteen and found out that they were mates.

However, she had to reject him for family sake. Zach has never known her identity for years, she'd kept it strictly hidden. Alina later abandoned her father's orders to return to Zach. At the period of their separation, Zach and Bella dated.

She knew that they never separated even after she got married to him. All she did was out of love. Swallowing the humiliation for years , Zach never gave her the chance to explain, he only took her in as his wife and treated her as a stranger.

Zach never showed any form of affection towards her, even when they got intimate. Alina could count how many times he'd touched her. And at all the times, he made her take contraceptive pills and monitored her throughout to ensure that she never got pregnant.

He claimed he wasn't ready to father a child yet.

Did he ever love her too? Was her mistake too big for him to forgive her? She knew how hurt he was when she rejected him and broke their bond, but it was for a cause that he'd never understand.

That night, Zach never returned home to Alina, he never regarded their anniversary but spent time with his mistress.

Alina cried herself to sleep.

The next morning when Alina woke up , she was completely drenched in sweat, asides that, she had a fever. She struggled to get out of bed.

Zach did not return home. Alina's face wrinkled as she watched the maidens clear the dining room where she'd previously decorated for the celebration.

She moved closer to the table where she kept an imprinted glass plate. She'd specifically handmade that plate for his sake, she wrote so many romantic poems for him to read.

"Ouchh..."

The plate slipped from her hands as she was lost in thoughts. Alina felt her head sting and she immediately rubbed her temples. It subsided for a minute and soon, the pain returned worse than the first time. Even after she rested for a long time her skin continued to burn with fever.

Alina suspects it had to be fatigue because in the last two days she's been busy preparing for the anniversary to make it a memorable one for them both.

"Take me to the hospital."

Alina said to the driver. She wore make-up to cover up her pale face, not wanting anyone to feel pity for her. All the servants in the mansion knew how alpha Zach was treating her but she chose to keep it between them.

Alina kept her face bright all through. She didn't want the driver suspecting anything, or he would have to call his boss and Alina didn't want any of that to happen.

Alina lied that she was paying a visit to someone, and she managed to convince him.

At M & S hospital

"Congratulations Luna Alina, a new life is growing inside of you." The doctor said, handing a white paper to her.

She sat up and took the envelope, her fingers trembled as she forced it open.

Her face wore a long frown as she read the reports on the paper. "I'm really pregnant." She touched her stomach. Alina suddenly recalled Zach's conditions to their marriage and bearing him a child wasn't a part of it.

She bit her lips then asked. " Is it possible if I wanted to ter....." the remaining words died in her throat.

As tears formed in her eyes she thinks of Zach. He utterly detested the idea of having a child with her. Alina tried to remember how this happened, she knew better than skipping the pills he'd given to her. Maybe it didn't work the last time she used them.

Alina Paced back and forth in the room. Her heart was troubled. How will Zach react to the news?

The pressure became too much to handle. Alina called Zach to know what he thinks of having a child. It's been three years already. She called him several times and he refused to pick up until hours later when he finally called her back.

She immediately picked his phone call the moment it rang once.

"Zach." Her voice breathless as she spoke to him.

"You should call me Alpha," he declared to her.

"I... I'm sorry, Alpha" she immediately apologized.

"What is it Alina? Do you need more money? If you want to know when I will be home I would advise you not to bother asking because it will take a while."

His demeanour had turned so cold towards her. Alina blinked then asked her question.

"What do you think of a child? Are you ready to be a father now?

A dangerous silence followed.

In a scornful voice he said "Get rid of it, it's not mine" Her heart sank the moment she heard him say that. He must've trusted the contraceptives so much to ever believe that it failed. She couldn't think of anything else, but to sobbed silently.

Just as she was about to hang up the phone, She heard a woman's voice. She speaks in the background. "My love, my hands can't reach my back."

"Zach, are you cheating on me?" She asked in a broken voice. There was no reply.

Zach forgot to hang up the call.

"Yes..... Zach ....f**k"

Bella moaned.

Alina almost dropped dead. She staggered backwards hitting her back against a wall. She leaned on the wall clenching her stomach.

When she woke up, she didn't know what time it was. Alina noticed the room was differently familiar.

She was bedridden at the hospital, there was only the driver standing beside her. He had a cold look on his face.

"Luna, you're awake. How do you feel?" He asked her. He's just walked into the bedroom to inform her about Alpha Zach's plans to return when he found her on the floor unconscious. He had no choice but to bring her to the hospital, besides, he'd just found out that she was pregnant.

Alina felt a Sharp pain in her lower abdomen, reminding her that she was carrying a baby. She behaved like every other woman would, she touched her stomach and looked at the doctor who'd just walked through the door.

"Did.... " She paused halfway to think. The thought of losing her child brought fresh tears to her eyes. She felt the urge to scream.

The doctor stared at her with a reassuring smile.

"Your child is fine and kicking, Luna. I still advise you to rest. If what happened back then happens again. Certainly we may not be able to protect the child." He explained and she immediately nodded.

Alina breathed out deeply then rested on the bed holding her stomach.

"Thank you."

He then excused her.

"Luna, when are you going to inform the alpha about your pregnancy?" The driver asks her, she stared at him with so much fear in her eyes.

"Please don't" she quickly begged him, holding his hands. She knew that he wouldn't keep the secret for long because he was loyal to alpha Zach but she still had to beg him.

The middle aged man who could have someone like her as his daughter immediately understood the situation and kept silent. "It's fine, I will let you tell him when you're ready. But please, do not keep it silent for long" he said to her.

The Inter-Pack Summit's grand hall glowed with ceremonial torches, casting dramatic shadows across the faces of the most powerful Alphas in the region. I stood at the entrance, my silver aura radiating outward in controlled waves—not a display of emotion, but a calculated reminder of the Silvermoon Pack's strength under my leadership. Marcus positioned himself precisely one step behind me and to my right, his presence a silent comfort through our private mind-link. *They're all watching for weakness,* he observed, his thoughts flowing into mine with familiar ease. *Then they'll find none,* I replied, scanning the room with measured indifference. Alpha Kaelen Blackwood approached first, his dark eyes evaluating me with the same predatory calculation I recognized in myself. "Alpha Victoria," he greeted, inclining his head just slightly enough to acknowledge my status without suggesting submission. "Your champion has brought considerable attention to the Silvermoon territory." "As intended," I replied coolly, the subtle tap of my index finger against my thigh the only outward sign of my strategic assessment. Ryan Mitchell had indeed brought attention—attention I had meticulously orchestrated over five years of investment. The rogue I'd salvaged from starvation had been molded into a weapon that now represented Silvermoon dominance in combat.

She didn't push him away. Instead, she laughed and swirled her martini. "I only forgot Finn because I knew he would stay. He is a poor boy from Queens who follows me around like a loyal dog." Later that night, her lover intentionally crashed a Porsche to scare me, sending a piece of jagged metal into my skull. Lying in a growing pool of my own blood, I watched Arleen crawl out of the wreckage. She didn't even look at me. She threw herself at her uninjured lover, screaming for a medic. "He just got scraped by a piece of plastic. He is faking it. Deal with Jaquez first!" When I woke up, I wasn't free. Arleen had locked me in a private hospital wing with 24-hour security, planning to isolate me and keep me as her broken, captive toy forever. My blind, pathetic devotion finally froze into absolute disgust. I looked at the heart monitor next to my bed and grabbed an IV needle. I severed the sensor wire to trigger a flatline, slipped out the fire stairs while the nurses panicked, and burned my identity to ashes. This time, I was going to disappear to London, build my own empire, and watch hers burn.

Chapter 1 It was their seventh wedding anniversary. Carolyn found the divorce agreement in Roger’s nightstand. The pages were covered in scribbles and corrections, as if he’d agonized over them for years. *"If, during the marriage, I fall in love with another person, I voluntarily relinquish all assets and leave with nothing. Asset details as follows…"* His first impulse had been to walk away empty-handed. But the asset section told a different story—a mess of revisions. First, he’d crossed out the property he intended to give her. Then, the fifty million earmarked for her was scratched out and replaced with five hundred thousand. Finally, as if in penance, he had written a single line. *"Better to have Carolyn leave with nothing. No choice, Catherine is pregnant."* … Carolyn sank onto the bed, disbelief washing over her. On the agreement, Roger’s signature was clean and decisive, without a hint of hesitation. And the document had been drafted seven years ago—the very year they married. That year, Roger had been willing to give up everything for her. Yet every year after, he had crossed out another piece of their shared life. Now, seven years later, the one leaving with nothing would be her. Her phone buzzed abruptly. A message from Roger. *"Urgent business. Won't be back."* She called, only to find his phone already switched off. Another notification flashed—a screenshot from a friend. Catherine, the student she sponsored, had posted on social media. *"Wow, got praised! To commemorate my first period without a leak, the big boss said we should celebrate properly!"* In a nine-photo collage, Roger gazed at her, eyes crinkling with affection as he fastened a dazzling gemstone necklace around her neck. The post was tagged at a couples-themed hotel. Carolyn’s breath caught. He couldn’t remember seven years of marriage, of weathering storms together—but he could find the energy to celebrate Catherine’s… leak-free period. And that pendant… she’d seen it at an auction just last week. It was her mother’s lost heirloom. She’d been ready to bid when her bank card was frozen. She’d asked Roger why. A long time later, he finally texted back, telling her not to waste money on such impractical things. Clutching her bidding paddle, she’d sat helplessly in the auction hall. In the end, she resolved to sell one of her own designs to raise the funds. But someone on the phone swooped in with an unbeatable offer and took it. For weeks afterward, Carolyn hated herself—hated that she couldn’t protect her mother’s last keepsake. She never imagined the one who snatched it away was Roger. He knew exactly how much that pendant meant to her. Yet he gave it to Catherine. Even on their seventh anniversary, Roger had lied about being busy with work, while wining and dining the girl she’d sponsored. The anniversary gift he left her was a divorce agreement demanding she leave with nothing. Seven years of marriage. Seven years of infidelity. And Carolyn had known nothing. She’d even introduced the other woman to him herself. Catherine was the impoverished student Carolyn sponsored. The first time Catherine came to their home to give thanks, Roger found her intrusive and disliked her on sight. *"That girl has no manners. Tracked mud all over my cashmere rug."* *"If her grades aren’t up to par, cut the sponsorship."* Back then, Carolyn had teased him, saying not to be jealous—it was good the girl had a grateful heart. She never once suspected Roger and Catherine. For seven years, everyone in their circle believed Roger never played around. That he loved only Carolyn. But by their next meeting, Catherine had become Roger’s personal assistant. Roger explained, *"The girl’s had it tough. You’ve sponsored her for years. Giving her a job is just helping you out."* Carolyn had laughed it off. Now, hands trembling, she opened Catherine’s social media feed. Catherine had always hidden her posts from Carolyn. Now, she seemed desperate to flaunt everything. While Carolyn drank until her stomach bled to secure a deal for Roger, Catherine was using Roger’s card to buy her first Louis Vuitton. While Carolyn changed bedpans for Roger’s bedridden grandmother, Roger was taking Catherine to a perfume atelier for a blending class—calling it a business trip. Catherine had even complained online. *"Your wife is such a pampered princess. Can't handle the tiniest thing without you running back. Can she not live without a man?"* And Roger had replied beneath it. *"If she were half as independent as you, I’d have an easier life."* But that day… Carolyn’s mother had lost her battle with cancer. She’d cried until her heart felt shredded, scrambling to handle the arrangements. All the while, Roger kept checking his phone impatiently, eager to leave. Not for work, she realized now—but because he was desperate to get back to Catherine.

At six in the morning, the penthouse was a hush of pale gray light. The marble under my bare feet was cold. I sat on the edge of the bathtub with the test stick in my hand and watched the second pink line darken until there was no more pretending. Eight weeks. Maybe nine. My thumb found the inside of my left wrist and pressed there. A small habit. A way to hold myself in one piece. I did it without thinking, the way some people pray. I looked up at the mirror across from me.

The morning sun streamed through the tall windows of Crescent Academy's grand hall, casting golden light across the polished wooden floors. I sat in the front row, my heart swelling with pride as I watched Zander cross the stage. Three years of sacrifice, late nights, and endless support had led to this moment. "Ladies and gentlemen," the headmaster announced, his voice echoing through the hall, "our valedictorian, Zander Campbell, has demonstrated extraordinary leadership skills and tactical brilliance throughout his time at Crescent Academy." Zander stepped forward, his tall frame commanding attention. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his ceremonial Alpha robes fit him like they were made specifically for him—which, considering how much I'd invested in his education, they practically were. "Today marks not just an ending, but a beginning," Zander's voice carried confidently across the hall. "A beginning where we will build stronger packs, forge unbreakable alliances, and lead with both strength and wisdom." My fingers traced the intricate patterns on my dress as I listened. Those words—they were from the strategic frameworks I'd developed and shared with him during late-night study sessions. The pride in my chest expanded. This was our victory, our future.
