Chapter 2

Hailey's PoV: "Baby! Would you prefer me or that Hailey?" The feminine voice moaned, as the slapping of skin against skin echoed in the apartment. My clothes are wet and i am soaked to my bone and the shiver of disgust rolled through me made my body shake. "You are a wild fox baby, i prefer you over that too uptight nun Hailey." Francisco's words cut too deep. He was the one who chased after me for three years to date and now he is cheating on me! I recovered from the shock and the anger spread through me at their betrayal. I walked towards the kitchen and filled a tub full of cold water and opened the bedroom door with a bang. The naked couple on the bed is still busy in their fun giving me the chance to pour the water on them as they reached their climax. "Ah! Ah!" She screeched like a dying crow and Francisco leaped from the bed and his erection deflated instantly. "Hailey! What are you doing here?" Francisco asked in shock. He tried to hide his body behind the duvet on the bed. "It is not what it looks like Hailey, let me explain." Sadie saylor, my bestfriend from the college said, her words seem regretable but her face shows her arrogance. She lazily covered half of her body and deliberately left her love bites on display for me to see. "What is there to explain, Sadie! Okay, let me hear you out." I waited for a single second looking at them both with disgust and anger. "There is nothing to explain, what were you guys doing naked! Playing cards!" My voice is dripping with sarcasm and their faces paled. They has never seen me this mad. "Stop with your sarcasm, Hailey." Francisco's guilt filled face turned furious like i am the one who got caught cheating on him and not the other way around. "So, I can't even make a joke out of the situation but you can sleep with the other woman!" He snapped at him and his eyes widened as he never expected me to snap. "I know what we did was wrong but Saide didn't want to hurt you by telling the truth. We had so much time, we had a year to tell you but she thought about you." Wow! What a joke! A year! They are fooling me for a year! He is painting a picture like iam a bad guy in this! They don't want to hurt me by the truth but they want to hurt me by sleeping with each other! What an irony! "Thank you very much for thinking about me, Sadie even if you are a bitch." Saide gasped at my insult and her fake puppy eyes turned towards Francisco who got manipulated and turned towards me with narrowed eyes. "I am the heir of Lacey family and I can do whatever i can and take any woman I want." Looking at this man who chased after me for three years and been my boyfriend for two years I feel nothing but disgust. How did i thought the he is the man I was going to marry one day! I sure was blind if i thought he was handsome and a gentleman. "Do whatever you want, Mr.Francisco Lacey. I don't care anymore." I turned around to leave but he stopped me by holding my wrist but i shrugged off his touch. "Don't be a fool, Hailey. Your mother is in the hospital and you need money for her surgery. I will provide you whatever you need." His words didn't give me any hope becuase i can't stay with a cheater for money, I can't reduce my self worth that low. "I dont need your disgusting money, Francisco. I will get a disease from touching it." I seenered, my wolf is itching to come out and claw their eyes out. She thought Francisco was the man who will be her mate but right now she is more angry than me. "You will regret it, Hailey." He thinks that his words will scare me but nothing scare me more than liers and cheaters. "Never." I turned around to leave this godsfarsaken place so she can cool down and not kill them both. "She means nothing, You are the one who is going to be my wife." He has the audacity to say these words to my face. He has proposed to me before but i rejected it because we were not ready but it doesn't mean i never thought of marrying him, my dumb head even thought about asking Sadie to be my maid of Honor, what a fool I was. "Look at this man carefully, Sadie. You hurt me for this man who sees you nothing but a body to use. I thought you were my friend." Sadie tried too hard to not let my words bother her but her pale face gave away her fear. "We are over, Francisco. Don't show me your face." With those last words I left his apartment. Whatever Francisco and I had, i thought it was real. I am going to be appointed as a doctor in the prestigious hospital and I was the daughter of the Alpha Timothy. He was after my father's power and my status in the society. He never loved me. "I am so sorry." I whispered to my wolf, who went so silent. I have hurt her with my dumb decisions. I should have listened to her when she stopped me from accepting Francisco's proposal. She wants us to wait for a man who will be our mate, who loves us, gives his loyalty and protects us from this harsh world. I have never felt this alone in my life. There is no fight left in my body anymore. My apartment is in a secure area, it's a tiny one bedroom apartment. I took a hot shower and laid in my bed. I don't know what I am going to do anymore. I have calculated the money I got from my part-time jobs and the money left from the my scholarship, I only have three hundred dollars in my account. "What am I going to do, Moongodess! Why are you doing this to me! What have i done that angered you! Please, help me." I am sobbing my eyes out as my body curled in a fetal position. "I don't have any other choice then sell myself for money. I don't think I can do that, I am not that strong to sell myself to some stranger." That thought made me cry more as loneliness and pain spread through me leaving me empty and hollow. I didn't know that my thoughts were going to be true the next day. I never imagined what was coming my way.

But when an arrogant pilot tried to harass me at the airport, my "ordinary" husband suddenly appeared, his eyes like chips of ice. "Take your hand off my wife." With that single cold command, he had the airline's top executives groveling and the man practically fired on the spot. Everyone called him "Mr. Chandler." He handed me an exclusive black Centurion card, claiming it was just a standard "manager's perk." His retired parents, who supposedly ran a small business, visited me wearing Patek Philippe watches. Yet, despite his constant, suffocating generosity, he kept a physical wall between us. After a kiss so desperate and hungry it felt like he had been starving for it his entire life, he violently pushed me away. "We should take this slow." Why was he orchestrating every perfect detail of my life while refusing to even share a bed with me? I had no idea that the man sleeping in the guest room wasn't a pilot at all. He was Harmon Chandler, the ruthless billionaire emperor of the Chandler Group. And he had been secretly monitoring my every move for ten years.

His MacBook unlocked with his birthday, not ours. The USB, after a near-data-wipe, revealed "The Archives": hundreds of photos of Blake with his college girlfriend, Isabelle, passionate love letters, and a wardrobe chosen to mirror hers. My name yielded "0 results found," while millions were wired to Isabelle. I was a meticulously funded stand-in, a ghost he dressed up to play house. My non-existence in his world and his financial betrayal ignited a cold, burning rage. Blake returned, dismissive, offering a delayed anniversary gift.
