On the day of the wedding, Olivia Harris's decade-long relationship with her boyfriend came to a shocking and humiliating close. In an unexpected twist, Rayan's other significant other, Catherine Cruz, who had always been a shadowy presence in their relationship, asserted her right to marry him. Wearing Olivia's wedding dress and ring, Catherine put on a show of crocodile tears, pleading: "Olivia, I'm very sick. You have your whole life to be with Rayan. Let me have this wedding, just this once." Rayan, standing by her side, added, "Olivia, you're carrying my child, and we’re already legally married. You have so much already; this ceremony hardly means anything!" Whispers and curious stares from the guests filled the air, turning Olivia into a spectacle, a bride transformed into a punchline. Yet, she maintained her composure, choosing silence over confrontation. She offered Catherine a gracious smile, the bride who didn't deserve the title. "Sure, take the wedding. I’ve wasted ten years on this sham of a relationship; I might as well give you what's left." “Olivia, why are you behaving like this?” Rayan tried to reach her, his hand still entwined with Catherine's.

After He Chose His Mistress, I Terminated Chapter 1

On the day of the wedding, Olivia Harris's decade-long relationship with her boyfriend came to a shocking and humiliating close. In an unexpected twist, Rayan's other significant other, Catherine Cruz, who had always been a shadowy presence in their relationship, asserted her right to marry him. Wearing Olivia's wedding dress and ring, Catherine put on a show of crocodile tears, pleading:

"Olivia, I'm very sick. You have your whole life to be with Rayan. Let me have this wedding, just this once."

Rayan, standing by her side, added, "Olivia, you're carrying my child, and we’re already legally married. You have so much already; this ceremony hardly means anything!"

Whispers and curious stares from the guests filled the air, turning Olivia into a spectacle, a bride transformed into a punchline. Yet, she maintained her composure, choosing silence over confrontation. She offered Catherine a gracious smile, the bride who didn't deserve the title.

"Sure, take the wedding. I’ve wasted ten years on this sham of a relationship; I might as well give you what's left."

“Olivia, why are you behaving like this?” Rayan tried to reach her, his hand still entwined with Catherine's.

Olivia met his advance with a swift slap. Shock registered on Rayan’s face, disbelief rendering him motionless. Catherine, clutching her dress, quickly positioned herself in front of Rayan, her voice a soft plea, “Please, Olivia, don’t be angry. Don’t hurt Rayan!”

"I don't want this wedding," Catherine continued. "Or the dress. I'll just end up alone."

As she pretended to remove the dress, Rayan stopped her. “Catherine, this dress was meant for you, and so was this wedding!”

With exaggerated care, Rayan adjusted the dress on Catherine, ensuring every fold and bow was perfectly in place. The dress, beautiful and pristine, highlighted her fragility, outshining even the chandelier above. Olivia understood why the gown felt so ill-fitting during her fittings; it was never intended for her.

A sardonic smile appeared on Olivia's face, one that Rayan noticed. "Happy now, Olivia? Is this what you wanted?"

"Think about our child. If you want them to have a proper family, you'd better start acting appropriately."

As the wedding march played through the hall, flower girls scattered rose petals, and Rayan walked Catherine down the aisle. Amidst the piano notes symbolizing happiness, Olivia dialed the hospital to arrange an abortion.

Guests turned to watch the radiant couple, casting glances at Olivia as if she were an outsider. Unable to endure the scrutinizing eyes any longer, she left, glancing back at her family in the front row, who showed no surprise at the bride swap. Her brother Daniel even took the stage to offer his congratulations. “This wedding is amazing. My brother-in-law has outdone himself!”

Anyone unaware might have thought he was congratulating his sister. After stepping down, Daniel noticed her absence and quickly texted her, “Sis, come back. Don’t embarrass my brother-in-law. What’s the big deal? Your name is still on the marriage certificate, right?”

“Just apologize. Rayan promised me a new car next month. The contract is ready, so if he gets upset, will you cover the difference?”

Her heart ached painfully. With trembling fingers, she replied, “Don’t I give you spending money each month? Why make Rayan buy you such an expensive gift?”

Daniel’s “typing…” indicator seemed to go on forever without a reply. Instead, her parents called, their words direct and cutting. “We regret having such a useless child. You can’t even buy your brother a car. Finally, you marry a generous man, and you publicly shame us?”

Amidst their relentless scolding, Olivia understood: her parents and brother had been taking advantage of her relationship with Rayan for financial gain.

Drained of energy, she sank onto the steps of the venue, realizing they had already hung up on her.

Alpha Rejected True Mate Novel Cover

The greenhouse was my sanctuary in a pack house that had never felt like home. Dawn hadn't yet broken when I slipped inside, the familiar scent of damp soil and blooming flowers wrapping around me like an embrace I'd long been denied elsewhere. My fingers trembled slightly as I reached for the watering can—a weakness I couldn't afford to show outside these glass walls. I focused on the white lilies, my favorites. Their pure petals reminded me of what I once was—hopeful, untainted. Before the mate bond that became my prison. "You're wilting too, aren't you?" I whispered to a drooping bloom, gently supporting its stem. My wolf, Luna, whimpered softly in the back of my mind. Once silver and strong, she now barely stirred, weakened by the sickness that had been consuming us both since I gave too much blood to save William three years ago. A sudden tremor ran through my bones, stronger than the usual morning weakness.

The scent of pine and mountain air clung to my skin as I stepped into the sprawling neutral-territory lodge. My heart fluttered with anticipation, one hand instinctively resting on my still-flat stomach where our future heir grew. Three weeks of morning sickness had confirmed what my wolf, Luna, had already whispered to me – I was carrying Michael's pup, the future Alpha of Silver Creek Pack. "He's going to be so happy," I whispered to my wolf, feeling her eager agreement pulse through our shared consciousness. *He'll finally look at us the way he did when we first mated,* Luna murmured inside my mind. I hadn't told anyone about my pregnancy, not even my mother back in the Moonstone Pack. This moment belonged to Michael first – my Alpha, my mate, the man who had swept me into his world three years ago with promises of devotion and protection. The marble floors echoed beneath my careful steps as I followed the familiar trail of Michael's scent – sandalwood and authority, a commanding presence that had always made my knees weak. The diplomatic meetings between packs had kept him away for nearly two weeks, and though he'd ordered me to stay at our pack house, I couldn't bear to wait another day to share our miracle. My fingers trembled slightly as I traced his scent down a long corridor lined with carved wooden doors.

I smoothed down the front of my traditional Luna ceremonial dress, the silver embroidery catching the light as I moved. Three years. Three perfect years with my mate, and tonight I wanted everything to be perfect. "Do you think he'll like the surprise?" I asked my reflection, adjusting the moonstone pendant that had been my mother's. It was the last thing she'd given me before passing, and I wore it only on special occasions. My wolf, Aria, purred with satisfaction. *He'll love it. You've prepared his favorite meal.* I glanced at the dining room table, set with our finest china and candles. The roast was resting, vegetables steaming, and a bottle of aged red wine—Tyson's favorite—hidden in the car for the final touch. "He should be home any minute," I murmured, checking my phone.
