Chapter 2

"Pretty lady, come here for a moment ..." a man called out to Mitha, a girl from Bandung who worked at a pub in Jakarta.

"Me? Do you mean me, Sir?" Mitha asked, frightened.

Tonight was her first night working at the pub, filling in for her friend who was sick. Mitha had no choice but to take the job, as her father's small business had gone bankrupt a few weeks ago.

Mitha, who was studying at a university in Jakarta, needed money to survive. She had just finished her studies but had not yet attended her graduation ceremony. Her diploma had not been issued by her campus, which made it a little harder for her to find a job.

"Yes, you! Hurry, come here!" Mitha grew more anxious, because she knew there were several other women nearby.

"What's your name?" the man who called her asked.

"My name is Mitha," she replied nervously, lowering her head.

"Mitha, go meet that guest. I'll pay you more!" the man said.

But Mitha seemed unwilling.

"Mitha, just meet him. It's only to keep him company while he drinks. I've done it before, even last week," said Niken, one of Mitha's friends that night.

"But Niken, I'm scared," she whispered.

"Relax, it's fine," Niken assured her.

"Yes, Mitha. It's all safe," another one of them added.

With encouragement from some of her friends, Mitha finally gathered the courage to approach the man.

"That's better," the man said, smiling at her.

"Have a seat." The man then gestured for Mitha to sit and poured soda into her glass.

"Drink," the man told her.

"I don't drink alcohol, Sir," Mitha replied.

"This isn't wine. It's just soda." The man then drank from his own glass in front of Mitha to make her believe him.

"See? I'm not drunk, am I?" he said with a sly smile at Mitha.

"Yes, Sir." Then the man quickly poured another glass of soda for Mitha.

But one thing Mitha didn't know, this new soda had been mixed with an aphrodisiac.

Meanwhile, behind the pub, Niken was receiving several thick bills of rupiah from a man.

"Is it true that your friend is still a virgin?" the man asked sharply, staring at Niken as she reached out her hand to accept the money.

"Of course, Sir. I guarantee one hundred percent that Mitha is still pure," she said firmly.

It turned out Niken was the one who arranged for Mitha to replace her "sick" friend for this part-time job at the pub.

"Alright, I believe you," the man said before walking away from Niken.

"I'm sorry, Mitha. I had to do this," she murmured in her heart.

Erlan Levin was also at the pub that night. At the moment, he was with his clients celebrating one of his colleague's birthdays.

"Welcome, Mr. Erlan. I thought you wouldn't want to come to a place like this," one of his business associates said.

"Of course I would come. This is to celebrate your birthday. But for anything else, I certainly wouldn't," he replied sharply.

Erlan knew very well what kind of place he had come to. He always remembered his mother's advice not to harm women or do anything that could take advantage of them.

In truth, Erlan was still single and not involved with any woman at the moment.

The birthday celebration began with cutting the cake and blowing out the candles, and of course, several kinds of alcoholic drinks lined the table.

Several sexy dancers in revealing outfits began performing their moves.

Erlan stared blankly at them, clearly showing his disapproval.

"How cheap!" he muttered in his heart.

Meanwhile, his clients were already aroused by the erotic movements of the dancers.

His friends started glancing at Erlan, noticing how unaffected he looked.

"Hey, bro. Look at that, Mr. Erlan isn't even slightly influenced by those dancers," one of them said.

"Right, you're absolutely right!" another responded.

Then one of them spoke up,

"I know how to make Mr. Erlan finally give up his bachelorhood."

His business associates knew Erlan was a clean man, he had never been intimate with any woman.

Some of them harbored ill intentions to tarnish Erlan's reputation.

"Bro, have a drink. It's just soda," one of them said.

Without suspicion, Erlan took the glass handed to him by one of his associates and drank it.

A few minutes after finishing the soda, Erlan felt a heat rising from inside his body.

His eyes began to redden.

"What did you put in my drink?" he snapped angrily.

"We didn't put anything in it, bro!" his friend replied, pretending to be innocent.

But sly smiles began to spread across their faces.

"Enjoy a long night with the ladies, Bro! Ha-ha-ha-ha!" Laughter, both triumphant and mocking, erupted from some of his clients.

"You bastards!" he shouted in anger.

"Bro, we did this for your own good, so you can feel the pleasures of heaven on earth. Otherwise, your weapon might stop working one day! Ha-ha-ha-ha!" their laughter rang out again.

"Shameless!" Erlan yelled, then walked away from the crowd in the pub.

"Looks like I won't make it home quickly. I'll have to stay here tonight," he thought.

Still fighting to keep his mind clear, he went to the reception desk and booked a room for the night.

Erlan planned to spend the night at the pub by reserving one of the most luxurious rooms. He wanted to soak in the hot bathtub all night.

He then took the elevator to the upper floor where his room was located.

Erlan's steps began to stagger, the drug was starting to take effect, but with all his strength, he fought to stay conscious.

As he was about to insert the key card to enter his room, he faintly heard a woman's desperate cry for help.

"Help ... help! Somebody, please help me!" a woman's voice pleaded.

"Hey, shut up! Don't make us use violence on you!" a man's voice barked.

It turned out the woman was Mitha, she had been placed in one of the rooms in the pub.

"What are you going to do to me, Sir? I'm new here. Tonight is my first night working in this place," she sobbed, terrified.

"Shut up! You've already been sold to our boss. So keep your mouth shut, unless you want us to taste you first!" one of the men growled sharply.

"No! Don't touch me!" Mitha cried, sobbing.

And then, she began to feel a heat rising from deep inside her body.

"Hot! What's happening to me? Why do I feel like this?" she thought in panic.

I stood at the periphery of the champagne-soaked crowd, nursing a glass of sparkling water I had no intention of drinking. My Givenchy gown, a shimmering column of silver, felt less like couture and more like armor. "Look at her," a whisper drifted from a cluster of Page Six reporters to my left. "A clinging gold digger." I swirled the water, watching the vortex. If only they knew. The irony sat heavy in my gut, cold and metallic. The billions in Beau’s accounts, the sudden skyrocketing of Lewis Enterprises—it wasn’t market fluctuation.

My thumb found the inside of my left wrist and pressed there. A small habit. A way to hold myself in one piece. I did it without thinking, the way some people pray. I looked up at the mirror across from me.
