—Brillante como siempre

Siguiendo de cerca los pasos de Abril, Atlas se acercó a ella, y una vez que esta se detuvo, tomo sus manos entre las suyas

—¿Cuándo accederás a salir conmigo?

Abril, sin poderlo evitar, soltó un pequeño suspiro, y después de tirar de sus manos, agregó

—Sabes que eso no sucederá... Eres mi cuñado, además... Estoy muy ocupada con esta edición

Por más que ella quisiera decir que era por qué no quería, no era así, el condenado era atractivo, tanto o más que su esposo, quien después de su primera noche juntos, se marchó, y no regresó más, ni siquiera una postal envió después de tantos años.

Un poco decepcionado, al ver que Abril por más que insistía no cedía, el chico la tomó de los hombros, y luego de que ella le sonriera forzadamente, continuó

—¿Y? ¿Tu cuñado? Abril, Dante te dejó, se marchó con Erika, y no regreso más ¿Es válido aún ese matrimonio? Porque para mí no lo es.

A pesar de haber pasado un par de años desde eso, aún dolía, poco después de que Dante se marchara, ella descubrió que Erika, su exnovia, y la mujer que él amaba también se fue, al mismo país que él.

Dante, con el supuesto propósito de extender la revista. Erika, a finalizar sus estudios de medicina, lo cual solo era una mentira.

Abril, se hallaba al tanto de que estaban juntos, era solo que nadie se atrevía a decir la verdad frente a ella, porque sabían que saldría lastimada

Sintiendo molestia al escuchar el nombre de su aún esposo, Abril retomó su marcha, y escuchando como Atlas la llamaba a sus espaldas, se detuvo, exhalando el aire de golpe.

—¿Sabes que están juntos, no es así? Ayer vi una foto que postearon... No te sigas engañando, te lastimas Abril ¿Cuándo despertarás?

Con sus labios fruncidos, y sintiéndose el peor hombre del mundo al decir tal verdad, Atlas permaneció en el mismo lugar, a escasos metros de Abril quien se hallaba de espaldas con sus ojos cristalizados al escuchar esto, pero que se resistió para no llorar.

Llenando sus pulmones de aire, Abril se giró para hacerle frente, y sonriéndole amargamente, respondió

—Lo sé... Y no me estoy engañando, es solo que debo ser sabia al momento del divorcio... Esta empresa es la unión de ambas familias, y no permitiré que por nuestro matrimonio fallido, caigamos en la quiebra... Ninguna familia lo merece, ni la tuya, ni la mía

Abril dio un paso adelante, y luego de juntar sus manos frente a su cuerpo, agregó

—Tu madre, tu abuelo, y tú... Han sido muy buenos conmigo y no merecen algo así; y mi familia, sabes que nuestra vida se halla en este edificio… No puedo ser tan egoísta, y destruir todo con la disolución de las acciones

Atlas, al conocer las verdaderas razones por las que Abril aún se hallaba casada con su hermano, suspiró, y acercándose a ella, elevó su mano para llevarla a su rostro, y acariciarla

—Y te lo agradezco, pero recuerda siempre que necesites... Estaré para ti

Atlas, era el hombre de los sueños de cualquier mujer, caballeroso, apuesto, atento, y con mucho dinero; por desgracia, Abril en ese instante, lo único que deseaba era centrarse en su carrera, la cual iba creciendo como la espuma.

Sonriendo un poco incómoda por su cercanía, Abril le invito a seguir, y abordando ambos el elevador privado, este pregunto

—¿Qué harás esta noche? Un amigo de la familia tendrá su cena de compromiso, y me invitó, sabes que no salgo con nadie ahora, así que pensé en ti

Para nadie en la ciudad era un secreto que Dante había abandonado a Abril por huir con su amante, de hecho, los primeros meses de su partida todos la miraban con lástima, al ser la pobre cornuda Granfort.

Manteniendo sus manos juntas frente a su cuerpo, Abril negó de nuevo, y guiando su mano al botón del elevador, respondió

—Sabes que no puedo, no, cuando eres mi cuñado ¿Atlas cuando entenderás que entre nosotros no puede haber nada?

El chico frunció sus labios un poco triste al sentir el rechazo de la mujer que amaba de nuevo, y es que antes de que Dante y ella fuesen unidos en matrimonio, este sentía algo por Abril, por lo que presenciar esa unión dolió, pero al ver el abandono de su hermano, sus esperanzas regresaron.

Tomándola de la mano de nuevo, este intento convencerla, por lo que suplicó

—Solo esta vez... Te prometo que si veo que no te atraigo, te dejaré en paz, solo dame una oportunidad Abril, y verás que me la juego por ti

Decir que ella le era indiferente era una enorme mentira, tal vez se debía al parecido con Dante, o porque de verdad el chico era atractivo, pero Atlas le gustaba, y era eso a lo que más le huía Abril.

Ambos permanecieron en silencio unos segundos, y cuando las puertas del elevador se abrieron, esta dio un salto de fe, uno que tal vez cambiaría todo, para ambos.

Accediendo al fin a una de sus peticiones, al notar que este no se daría por vencido, Abril agitó su cabeza, y tomándola desprevenida, Atlas la abrazó de manera eufórica.

—Verás que nos divertiremos, no te arrepentirás... Salimos a las 8, es una ceremonia formal, así que ponte hermosa.

Pinchando su nariz de manera animada, Atlas salió del elevador, y dejando a Abril sumergida en sus pensamientos, esta vio como la puerta se cerró

¿Estaba bien lo que haría?

¿Salir con el chico que le atraía estando aún casada era una buena idea?

Definitivamente no, menos si este llevaba la misma sangre del hombre que amaste desde que tenías 16 años.

Abril recargó su cabeza en la helada pared del elevador, y escuchando de nuevo el pitido de este, susurro.

—¿Por qué Atlas? ¿Por qué yo? ¿Por qué eres el hermano de Dante?

Saliendo del artefacto, esta se dirigió a su oficina, y viendo como en el interior de esta se hallaba su padre, sonrió y extendió sus manos para abrazarlo.

—Justo necesitaba verte... Tenemos que hablar
