Chapter 1

My boss, Walton Frazier, loves tricking me into wearing tight shirts and having the top three buttons undone before forcing me to entertain the female clients.

Then, he drops hints to said that I'm young and have a great physique, only to wait with bated breath for the clients to start touching me.

His excuse is that he wants to test the clients' characters to see if they really are worthy to work with.

As soon as the clients fall for the trap hook, line, and sinker, Walton will rush out toward them in a righteous manner and slam his wine glass onto the table.

After that, he'll start lecturing me as though I've done something awfully wrong.

"Is there not a prideful bone in your body? Do you want to hit your sales target that badly that you're willing to forsake your pride as a man?"

Walton chooses to trample all over me just so he can build his manly and righteous persona.

This time, he specifically prepares a suit with a deep V-line that's made of light material. Then, he forces me to toast to a client with an extremely rich and powerful background in that suit. He even threatens to dock off three months' worth of perfect attendance pay if I don't do this.

When I notice the familiar cold-looking yet striking face at the main seat, I can't help but smile.

If my older sister, Mable Cobb, were to see me toasting to her in this kind of outfit, I have a feeling she'll clean out the trash for me and make me the boss of this company by tomorrow.

In the restroom, Walton Frazier clutched a silk shirt with a low neckline that nearly reached my navel and looked at me disappointedly.

"Riley Jensen, our performance for the entire year next year depends on this deal with Ms. Cobb. Don't screw it up at a time like this."

As he spoke, he started stripping off my perfectly neat suit jacket and shoved that flashy, flamboyant shirt into my arms.

"When you're doing business, you've got to play the game. Clients will lose interest if they see that you're dressed like an insurance salesman, so how are we supposed to close the deal?"

The fabric was thin enough to see through, designed to be suggestive and provocative. It was a piece of clothing that would be seen on male escorts in nightclubs.

Yet there he was, dressed in a sharp suit, looking like a proper corporate elite while trying to turn me into a male escort for the night.

"This neckline is too low, and the fabric is sheer, Mr. Frazier. This isn't appropriate," I calmly stated.

Walton let out a contemptuous laugh and patted my shoulder before murmuring in a smooth, coaxing voice, "What are you afraid of? We're all men here, so show a little sacrifice.

"Besides, I'll be right here. We're just testing the client; if Ms. Cobb is a decent woman, she won't do anything. But if she's the predatory type… well, I'll be there to step in and protect you."

I snorted. Like all the other times, he would wait until a client's hand was halfway down my shirt before he bothered to step in and intervene.

Every time, he would hint that I was adventurous and easy before baiting them into treating me like a toy. I wasn't an idiot; I'd had my lesson twice, so I wasn't falling for it again.

But since tonight's client happened to be my older sister, Mable Cobb…

"Fine. I'll wear it." I took my shirt with a cold smile curling on my lips.

Walton probably thought his manipulation had worked. He nodded in satisfaction and shoved me into the changing room.

Through the door, I heard him sending a voice message on WhatsApp and lowering his voice. "Don't worry, Ms. Nash. I've arranged for Riley to handle Ms. Cobb tonight.

"I'm sure all women would love a young, good-looking guy. If she lays a finger on him, I'll have leverage to push her price down, and we'll look like a principled company standing up for our staff."

Deep down, I sneered.

I'd moved out, rented a place, and taken on this job because I wanted to prove that I could make it without my family's influence. No one ever taught me how to deal with office politics, so I'd kept my head down to avoid trouble.

But today…

I pulled out my phone and texted the pinned number at the top. "I've got a show for you, Mable. Get ready."

She immediately replied, "?"

The celebration gala was held at the most luxurious club in the city center. As we walked into the hall, a woman radiating a powerful, commanding air was seated at the head of the table.

It was my older sister, Mable Cobb, who'd left home years ago to start her own business.

The moment we entered the door, Walton pushed me toward her. "Ms. Cobb, this is Riley from our team. He's single, in great shape, and really admires strong women like you.

"He'll be taking care of your drinks tonight, so just tell him whatever you need. He's great with physical tasks."

There was a greasy, suggestive look in his eyes as he emphasized the words "single" and "physical tasks".

If this were any other wealthy female client, they'd likely be scanning me up and down and testing me out.

"Go on. Pour Ms. Cobb a drink and use that charm of yours. Don't just stand there like you've got a death wish."

After Walton shoved a glass of red wine into my hand, I gripped the glass and walked toward the head of the table. Colleagues around us were giving me strange, judgmental looks.

When I reached Mable, she just happened to look up. Our eyes met, and her gaze lingered briefly on the faint outline of my chest under the shirt.

Her knuckles paled as she gripped her wine glass hard. I could even hear her grinding her teeth.

Just as I was about to speak, Mable suddenly tossed a suit jacket at me and snapped, "Put it on!"

Her voice was icy and trembling with suppressed fury. But to Walton, this was an entirely different signal.

"Please have some respect, Ms. Cobb!"

He charged forward like he was in a sprint. After yanking me behind him, he put on a righteous face and said, "Ms. Cobb, we're here to discuss a partnership, not to play into dirty rules!

"Riley might just be an employee, but he's a man with dignity. What makes you think being wealthy gives you the right to treat him like a male escort?"
