Her survival strategy continues as she encounters a chainsaw-wielding psycho manager, offering him emotional support and decorating his weapon. This bizarrely wholesome behavior leaves the monsters confused and the stakes strangely altered.

Chapter 1

I was the ultimate pick-me girl at the office, and somehow, I ended up inside a horror game before New Year's Eve.

Seeing the bloody lady crawling in the dark elevator, I screamed out loud.

"Oh my gosh! Where did you get that lipstick? It's perfect! It makes your skin look three shades lighter!"

The bloody lady blinked at me in confusion as I helped her up. She even recommended the exact lipstick shade.

Then I turned around and came face-to-face with the chainsaw-psycho general manager with multiple personalities, swinging his weapon around.

I tied a little bow on his chainsaw.

"Everyone else only cares if your chainsaw is sharp. I'm the only one who cares if you're tired from swinging it all day."

The monsters in the room looked at each other, all thinking the same thing…

Why did this feel weirdly wholesome?

[Welcome, players, to the SSS-level horror dungeon: Office Tower Urban Legends.

[Dungeon rule: Lying is forbidden. Anyone who lies dies instantly.

[Starting players: Ten.

[Clear objective: Figure out why everyone in this building lost their memories. Restore all memories to beat the dungeon.

[All ten players confirmed. Seven days left until New Year's Eve. Clear the dungeon before then.

[Have fun.]

A cold, robotic voice crackled in my ear. I had literally just finished sending in a vacation request, and the next second, I got dragged straight into a horror game.

I walked out of one office building, only to wake up inside a different one.

Yeah… Just my luck.

Around me, a bunch of fully geared veteran players were sizing each other up.

The game hadn't even officially started yet, and the livestream chat was already going crazy.

[Office Tower again? That cursed dungeon shows up every year before New Year's. No one's ever beaten it… Everyone dies as trapped office workers.]

[Yeah. Newbies get wiped immediately. Look at that girl. She's literally fixing her makeup!]

All nine players refused to team with me, the girl who liked looking cute.

They all sprinted down the safe staircase and even slammed the door shut behind them. How sweet.

So I had no choice but to take the elevator.

The rusted metal screeched with every inch it moved, stabbing straight into my ears.

Everyone knows the elevator is the worst place in any horror dungeon.

But I stepped in without thinking twice.

As soon as the doors closed, my head started spinning.

Then, my cheek tingled. I looked up and saw thick black hair creeping along the elevator walls, filling every corner.

[There she is! The bloody lady in the elevator!]

[This girl is toast. No one ever takes the elevator. Everyone knows the bloody lady hunts there. She's a fierce one!]

Right on cue, she appeared.

Her body folded and twisted like broken bones as she crawled along the floor. Her face looked carved out, like someone had scraped away everything except two empty black holes where her eyes should've been.

She lunged at me. Her torn, bloody face pressed right up against mine, and in this slow, eerie whisper, she asked, "Have you seen…my skin?"

When I saw this terrifying scene, my whole face went cold.

I immediately pulled off my tweed jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders.

"Girl, it's freezing out here! Why would you run around with nothing on? You're gonna get sick. We girls gotta look out for each other, you know?"

She kept crying, "My skin… I want my skin…"

"I know, I know, but those aren’t easy to come by. Don't be picky. Just wear this for now. It's the newest Miu Miu tweed jacket from this year."

I was only wearing a thin undershirt under the jacket. Without it, I was shivering like crazy.

The livestream chat exploded.

[What is even happening right now? This pick-me girl must have nerves of steel! She actually dressed up the bloody lady!]
