Chapter 3

Erica:

No, I had heard wrong, he did not just say he wanted a divorce.

"Dante, you didn't just say that. You're not leaving me for Laura ." My thinking was disorganized like I was. I was trembling, he had hurt me a lot but this was too much.

"I'm serious, Erica. I want you to leave my pack, I want you to leave me. Our marriage is over." As he said this I held my chest tight, his words hit me hard like an arrow had pierced me straight at my heart and it was painful.

"Dante.." hot tears streamed down my eyes.

"There's no need for you to be here, Erica. I had gotten married to you because I wanted a child from my mate, but you haven't even given me a child, not even a miscarriage. You know you are not the type of woman I want. You are a pathetic worthless wolf, Erica. Leave. Sign the papers and leave." He picked up the file he had left back on my Vanity table and handed it to me.

"So you mean you are leaving your mate for someone you've been sleeping around with? Please, Dante, we can forget you ever said this, I would love you as no one has before. Don't do this to me."

"I don't want to force you to do this, sign the paper and leave this instant. "

He was trying to speak calmly when Laura walked into my room, I looked at her, she walked into my room with a satisfactory smile on her face, she was happy all of this was happening to me. Why would she be happy to see someone hurt?

"This is all your fault, Laura." Before I understood what was happening, I was in front of her, hooking her on her neck and sending a shivering slap to her face.

"It's all your fault, you witch. You're a homewrecker." As I held her she pushed me and slapped me back but I wasn't going to watch her take my man and still hurt me. I sent another slap to her face with all the anger in my heart and I began to pull her hair.

Dante came between us and pulled me away from Laura, stopping me from hitting her while I tried to hold a grasp of myself, Dante raised his hand and sent a very harsh slap to my face that caused me to fall to the ground, hit my head on the floor and tear my lips.

I was on the floor looking, trying to catch my breath. I took my hurting neck up to stare at him, he glared at me with anger brewing in his eyes.

"I Alpha Dante West of  Blue Hades pack, Rejects you Erica Hades, I reject you as my mate and I break every bond we share." As he said this it was like I was burning inside of me, a burning sensation grew in my chest and as much as I tried to not scream because I didn't want to look weak, I couldn't help it. I let out a scream.

"No, Dante, don't do this," I begged then I fell on my face

"Accept the reject, bitch." He spat out angrily.

I wanted it to stop maybe accepting his rejection would make it stop.

"I accept. I accept your rejection." As I said this, the pain dropped a little but it was still there, I felt the pain in my chest.

Laura picked up the divorce papers, pulled the pen from Dante's pocket, and handed it to me. I didn't think about it, I signed it and immediately after she had gotten what she wanted, she began to pull me out of my room. She pulled me and I begged her to stop but she didn't.

I couldn't do anything, I could barely move a muscle, I had been hurt from the pain of the rejection and I was still facing so much pain. Dante is  Lycan King and I am just a random lady with werewolf scents.

"You hurting me stop, Laura." She pulled me down the stairs, not minding that I was a living thing and I was facing so much pain already.

"Your time here is up." My voice, my crying had made the maids and the ranked Lycans living in the pack house all come out. They all watched Laura throw me out of the pack house and lock me out. They all watched their Aloha throw their Luna out.

I was outside crying and begging but no one was coming to help me.

Everywhere was hurting, my head. My chest, my tummy.

"Your time here is up." Her words rang in my ear and all I could picture was my husband's unbothered face as his mistress pulled me out of his pack house.

I began to walk out of the pack house, I walked to the empty and dark road.

It was creepy, no one was out at this time and I cried as I walked. With every step, the pain all over my body increased, but there was more pain in my tummy, so I held my tummy tight. I was feeling dizzy and I was walking on the empty road all alone.

We've heard stories of rouges attacking people out on the road and Dante didn't think of it. He didn't think that it was dangerous to let me go out this mate.

I was in pain and I was asking the moon goddess to keep me safe. She had caused me all of this pain in the beginning so it was only right that she kept me safe.

I felt more dizzy, darkness had covered everywhere and the weather was becoming very cold, the sky rumbled but I kept pushing, step by step I kept going withstanding the pain in my tummy.

It was becoming too painful to bear, it was slowly going from my tummy to my vagina, I could feel a stinging pain in my lower abdomen, I have never felt something like this.

The sharp pain came again and I held my tummy tight.

I cried. I looked down at the gown I was wearing, blood had stained it and blood was slowly crawling down my legs.

I looked around, it was completely dark and empty, no one was there and I didn't know what was happening, I touched my leg and felt the blood, I touched the blood to see if I was dreaming.

I wasn't, I was bleeding.

"Am I pregnant?" I asked myself. If I was then it meant my baby was in danger.

No.

I tried to walk more. Maybe it would help but the pain was so much, I fell on the ground crying.

I felt dizzier and weaker, my eyes closed and I fell into darkness.

On my daughter's fifth birthday, Yareli posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: "Before bed, my little one was crying for her dad, and the wonderful dad immediately dropped his work to be there." In the photo, the man next to her was none other than my husband—Sean Harrison. I glanced at the message received ten minutes ago: "There's something going on at the office tonight. You and Braelynn don't need to wait for me." I liked the post, then called my divorce attorney. --- Sean came home at two in the morning. The harsh light made me shield my daughter's eyes immediately. Sean leaned against the doorframe: "Miriam, I'm back. Let's wake Braelynn, and I'll celebrate her birthday with her." In the past, I cherished these family rituals deeply. Whether it was a birthday, Thanksgiving, anniversary, or a preschool event, I insisted Sean be involved. I didn't want Braelynn to go through what I did—only seeing her dad through videos on WhatsApp. But now— I straightened the blanket and replied in a flat tone: "No need." A flicker of frustration crossed Sean's face: "Miriam, I only went over to help Miguel sleep.

I spent two years navigating the stratified air of Spencer Kensington’s world, thinking I was the woman he loved. I even ate instant ramen for months to afford a vintage camera lens for our anniversary. When I got a mysterious text about "Operation Blue Moon," I thought it was our private signal for a proposal. Instead, I walked into a limestone fortress to find the Kensington and Van Der Woodsen Engagement Party in full swing. Spencer wasn't there for a romantic dinner; he was standing under a crystal chandelier, announcing his "business merger" with a blonde heiress. When I confronted him in a service hallway, he didn't apologize. He offered to buy me a brownstone and keep me as his "side project" while his mother, Victoria, watched from the balcony like a queen. "Vanessa is just furniture," he said, his voice full of a terrifying sincerity. "But you're the one I love. I can give you a life of ease." When I refused to be his dirty little secret, the retaliation was instant and brutal. By the next morning, I was fired from my reporting job, my father’s nursing home funding was pulled, and I returned home to find my apartment condemned by the city. My entire life was piled in wet boxes on a rain-soaked sidewalk. I couldn't understand how one family could have the power to erase a person’s existence in a single night. How could the man who kissed me yesterday watch his mother leave me homeless and penniless today? Standing in the rain next to my ruined belongings, a black SUV pulled up and Mayor Julian Sterling stepped out. He didn't offer me pity; he offered me a deal. "The Kensingtons are panicked," he said, his eyes cold and calculating. "And panicked people make mistakes. You have a reason to watch them burn. I want to see what you know." I took his hand, knowing he was just as dangerous as the people I was fighting, but I was done being the victim. This wasn't just a breakup anymore; it was a war.
