Chapter 3

Katherine's cheeks flushed with fury. "Harry, you're still denying it even now! Since you never remarried and can't have children, where did this child come from?"

Zack fixed me with a furious stare, then pulled a voice recorder from his bag and pressed play right there in court. "Your Honor, hear this from Harry's own relative."

The device sputtered for a few seconds before a hoarse male voice came through. "Harry's son? He took him. The child was born after Katherine's divorce. Harry even registered him as his own, thinking nobody would ever discover the truth."

When the playback stopped, Zack gave a sneer. "Harry, what do you have to say now?"

I drew a slow breath, forcing my temper under control.

They clearly believed that 20 years had erased everything and that they could rewrite history. Unfortunately for them, their plan was destined to fail.

I met their eyes calmly. "Wade's custody is mine. Nothing you've presented today proves I 'kidnapped' him. A single witness carries little weight. As for this so-called recording, that relative has been dead for three years. You can fabricate whatever you like, but without verification, I won't accept it."

The judge nodded slightly as I finished speaking.

Zack's face turned red with rage. He bellowed, "Harry! I am Wade's biological father! No matter what you say, it doesn't change that fact! If you let Wade see me, I can take him for a paternity test immediately!"

Katherine glared at me. "Exactly! We'll contact the hospital right away!"

I let out a cold laugh. "Fine. Too bad, even a paternity test won't help you."

The livestream viewers erupted in fury, flooding the chat with insults.

"What a vile man. With all that evidence staring him in the face, he's still lying. He is extremely stubborn."

"I can't wait for Zack and Katherine to take Wade for a DNA test. That'll shut Harry up real fast."

I stood there calmly with my arms crossed, as if daring them to do their worst.

Zack trembled with rage. He yanked out a document and slapped it down on the table. "Harry! You asked for this! Take a good look. Wade Wilson personally signed this voluntary custody transfer agreement!"

The courtroom went silent for a moment, then the livestream erupted in cheers.

"Well done, you two! Now Harry's finished!"

I stared coldly at them. Zack leaned forward with a provocative grin. "Harry, Wade signed this himself and mailed it to us. He said you've been controlling him and keeping him from contacting us, but blood ties can't be severed. He's already agreed to transfer his custody back to us."
