Chapter 4

4

My eyes slam shut waiting for the impact of his hit. My brain going onto overdrive as I think of how I will get raped on my first day all thanks to my useless boss.

Seconds pass yet I don't feel any impact, just grunts, and groans that are definitely not coming from me.

Slowly I pry my open to the horrid sight in front of me. The man is on the floor, bleeding as another fist slam into his face repeatedly.

My eyes widened, Mr Antonio? He plummets his fist into the guy with what I can only describe as rage.

I am too shocked to even move or make a sound. When he is satisfied, he moves off the lifeless man, and walks towards me.

He bends down, one hand moves to my back as he speaks in a soft voice. I didn't know he was capable of having, “Are you okay?”

I just nod, unable to will my vocal cords to produce a sound. With a deep sigh he places one arm under my knee the other under my back, and lifts me up.

I am so dazed that I am not aware of when he puts me in his car, and drives all the way to my house. Not even when he packs in front of my house when I never gave him my address.

I can hear his voice speaking to me, but I can't respond. My system has gone down, not responding to any sensation.

It's something my body has always done to shield me from pain.

“Mia, are you okay?” his voice draws closer yet still distant.

My mind transports me to that terrible place where I never want to be. I can hear his screams, the sound of his belt, the shattering of plates.

And as usual when it gets too much my whole system goes off, making me go unconscious.

“Urgh turn off that stupid light.” I groan, running my palm on my forehead trying to reduce the pounding.

I slowly rise up, looking around. What happened? Where am I?

I realise I am in my bed when I see my familiar wall. The events of last night flash into my head, a gasp finding its way out of my lips.

He brought me to bed? How is that possible? That means he did remember me, because there is no way he would know my address down to my room without me telling him.

I smile. He is nice after all, I was just unlucky yesterday probably because I barged him on his banging that bitch.

But if he remembered me, why didn't he thank me for saving his life? Or is he feeling too big?

Leaving all the confusion, and questions for the only person that can answer them, I strut to my bathroom to get ready for work.

“Good morning Mia.” Jack greets, falling into steps with me.

I smile, heading towards the elevator as I reply “Morning Jack, right?”

“I'm the flesh.” he responds, making me giggle.

We step into the elevator together, he presses both our floors. I smile muttering a thank you to him.

“So we usually go out as colleagues every Friday. You are more than welcome to join.” he invites, flexing his muscles.

“Of course I would love that.”

I take my time to check him out as I didn't do that before.

Jack is a natural blonde with brown eyes, he is not as muscular or built as Mr Antonio— wait, why am I comparing them?

Shaking Mr Antonio away from my thoughts. I stylishly peek at Jack again.

“How long have you worked here?” I ask, trying to start a conversation.

“About two years now. Before you ask, I work in the accounting department so I barely have to deal with Mr Antonio.” He smirks, winking at me.

I giggle, getting the hidden message. The man is simply terrible to his workers.

That bitch clearly fits him. I don't even know what he saw in her.

Is she pretty? Yes. Does she have a good attitude? Hell no.

Aren't men supposed to like women who have good characters?

“No Mia. Some men just want to have their dick wet.” Jack answers.

Damnit.

I actually said that out loud, before I can turn to say anything the elevator dings open.

He winks at me, and heads out. I hit my head on the iron wall as it took me to the top floor.

You fool, you just had to embarrass yourself.

My ass had barely made it successfully to my chair before Mr Antonio rang me to come to his office.

I practically ran there in hopes of telling him how grateful I am that he helped me, and took me home.

“Come in” his deep voice booms from within.

I step into the room, my face lit in a beautiful smile. His back is turned to me as he stands in front of his window gazing outside.

“Mr Antonio, thank you so—”

“Shut up.” he cuts me off.

My heart skips a bit at his cold voice. What have I done wrong today?

He turns around, his hand tucked into his red suit. He looks extremely handsome today. The suit fits him perfectly flexing out his muscles and build.

I trail my eyes, from his body to his beautiful eyes. One that is lacking life.

His face hardens when my eyes meet his. His voice is harsher when he speaks this time, “Is that how you check out all the men you come across like a whore?”

I am dumbfounded, utterly speechless.

“What did you just call me?” I grit out.

The veins in my neck popping, my fist clenches hard as I fight the urge to do something rash.

The guts of this man.

He tilts his head to the side before throwing another insult at me, “Not just a whore, a dumb one at that eh?”

“I have no idea what you are talking about Mr Antonio. I am no whore.” I try to be nice, because I don't want to be fired on my second day.

My self control snaps the moment he opens his mouth again, “You are just so worthless. You can't sort the simple file I asked you to, but you can conveniently go around eye fucking men, huh?”

I am boiling at the word worthless.

How dare he?

“IF ANYTHING YOU ARE THE WHORE HERE. I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG TO DESERVE THIS. IF SOMEONE GOT YOU ANGRY GO TAKE IT OUT ON THEM NOT ME.” I scream, my body shaking.

He doesn't react to my outburst nor does he look angry. The mother fucker looks so calm it infuriates me.

“Get out.” he states then turns around to stare out the window.

He turned, he fucking turned.

“FUCK YOU!!!”
