Trash Ex Faked It, Now I'm Faking It... With His Bro

Trash Ex Faked It, Now I'm Faking It... With His Bro

I thought I'd marry Oscar, but his "fatal" car crash was a hoax. He faked amnesia to cheat, but I'd seen his video confessing he'd rather play than commit. While everyone pitied me, Nolan-Oscar's "best friend"-quietly helped. Turns out, Nolan had plotted Oscar's fake death to free me, secretly loving me since college. When Oscar mocked my "jealousy" at his engagement, Nolan stood by me. We married swiftly, and Oscar, enraged, tried pleading. I played his betrayal video, ending his charade. Months later, he died in a real crash.

Chapter 4

I glared at Nolan Harrington in both anger and embarrassment. Oscar Sterling's voice continued from the phone, his tone full of surprise: "Wow, Nolan! What are you up to right now, got a woman beside you? Tell me, is it the one you video-called today?" After Three years apart, and since I'd only let out a single sound, Oscar Sterling didn't recognize me right away-after all, too many women had surrounded him over the years. Nolan Harrington clearly had no intention of replying to Oscar. His eyes remained fixed on me, filled with hidden emotion. I shot him a furious glare and wriggled out of his arms, crawling toward the other side of the bed. But before I could get far, he grabbed my ankle and pulled me back. Oscar Sterling kept talking: "Come on, bro! You've got to show us who she is. I can't believe you finally found someone-Mr. Ice-Block finally blooming! Now that you're taken, I guess I can't introduce you to girls anymore, huh? Oh right, I was going to ask you to invite Lucille to my engagement party. But then I remembered-you've always disliked her." Before he could finish, Nolan Harrington impatiently hung up the call. He tossed the phone back on the bed and scooped me up with one arm, carrying me into the bathroom. When we came out again, three hours had passed. Nolan Harrington wore a satisfied expression. I shot him another glare and lay on the bed, ignoring him. I picked up my own phone and glanced at it. A message had come in. It was from one of Oscar Sterling's friends. Three years ago, Oscar had brought me into all of his circles. [Lucille, Oscar is getting engaged to someone else, the ceremony is in seven days! Please go talk to him! I don't want him to regret it once he gets his memory back! This isn't what he really wants!] I read the message, then deleted it and tossed the phone aside. I wasn't someone who went out of my way to create drama. Oscar Sterling's engagement had nothing to do with me. Nolan Harrington reached out, wanting to pull me into his arms. I glared at him and quickly moved away. I had no interest in going through another three or four hours of that again! News of Oscar Sterling being alive-and planning an engagement-quickly spread. Many friends came asking me about it. Some showed sympathy, some cursed Oscar for being a scumbag, and others just came to enjoy the drama. My college roommate, Zara Lockhart, called me, angrily scolding Oscar. "When I first heard Oscar Sterling was still alive, I was so happy for you! But then I hear he's getting engaged to someone else?! That's too much! Losing his memory gives him the right to betray you? You were his fiancée! Did no one remind him? No way-I'm not letting my bestie get treated like this! I'm going to find out where he's holding the engagement party and crash it for you!" I chuckled. "Even marriages end in divorce. Engagements can be canceled, too. My relationship with him ended Three years ago. Whatever he does now, it has nothing to do with me." Zara Lockhart still sounded indignant: "I just can't swallow this! You waited for him for Three whole years! I watched you stay single the entire time!" I was eating a cookie and nearly choked. Who waited for him Three years?
