The deafening crash startled everyone.
alpha Edward's face darkened to an almost demonic shade the moment he laid eyes on Alice, sprawled on the ground.
"Emilia! You're courting death!" he snarled.
He scooped Alice up in his arms and rushed.
The once - jubilant ceremony ended in chaos.
Emilia was then dragged by the werewolf guards to the hospital.
It turned out that Alice had contracted a rare blood.
And I was the only one with a compatible blood type.
"Donate your blood, now!" he commanded.
I knew that a simple blood donation required a basic medical check. If I went through with it, alpha Edward would surely discover that I was the one who had donated her liver to save his life years ago.
"I won't do it. There are plenty of other werewolves here. Why me?"
Alpha Edward's patience snapped.
He lunged forward. "You think you can defy me? I'll lock you in the darkest cell of the werewolf dungeon until you agree!"
I dragged my feet towards the blood - giving chamber. After the quick check - up, the doctor's face turned ashen. "Miss, you're in a terrible state! Your liver is not intact, and it's not suitable for donating blood!"
Alpha Edward growled, "What nonsense! If Alice needs blood, she'll give it!"
He grabbed the doctor by the throat. "Do it, or you'll be the next one howling in agony under the full moon!"
Terror gripped me as the needle stabbed into my vein. Finally, as the last of my strength ebbed away, I succumbed to the darkness.
When I woke up, the room was dimly lit.
On the bedside table, there was a plate of my favorite almond cookies.
Memories flooded back.
In the past, whenever I wasn't feeling well, no matter where he was, alpha Edward would brave the wind and rain to buy these for me.
I reached for the almond cookies on the table and mechanically put them into my mouth, swallowing them one by one.
