To Hell with Their Wedding Vows

I had no strength left to fight.

"Jasper will find out… He cares about this baby. If he finds out you killed his child, he won't let you get away with it!"

Sloane paused, and for a fleeting moment, I thought I had finally gotten through to her.

But then, with a flick of her wrist, she pressed down hard, carving a swift, deep gash across my cheek.

"You bitch, you dare mention Jasper's name!" she snarled.

"How would he find out?" she roared. "By the time I'm done with you, no one will even remember your name."

I froze, a chill spreading through my body as she carved more cuts into my face.

The stinging became so intense that I went numb.

Seeing me so utterly broken, Sloane's lips curved into a triumphant smirk.

"Look at you now, Blair. A monster. How are you going to compete with me now?" she taunted.

"This is what you get for crossing me!"

I was a discarded doll as she vented her fury, her rage a storm of cuts and blows.

I felt myself drifting away, my consciousness fraying at the edges.

Sloane's friends watched her, their faces pale with fear.

"Sloane, maybe that's enough. She's going to die if you keep this up," one of them said, their voice trembling.

Sloane snorted.

"Scared? Jasper promised he'd take care of everything. What are you worried about?"

I lay helpless on the ground, a wet cough rattling in my chest, the taste of blood on my tongue.

Finally, she stood up.

"Alright, that's enough for today. I'm tired. Let's get out of here. If she's still breathing later, maybe I'll come back to finish the job."

With that, Sloane and her accomplices left.

I lay on the cold ground, clutching my belly, fighting for every breath.

An empty void bloomed in my chest as my world went dark.

"Little one… I'm so sorry. This is all my fault," I whispered as my life faded away. "If I survive this, I will get justice for you. I swear it."

Tears mixed with the blood running down my cheeks, each drop a fresh sting in my wounds.

Time blurred.

I don't know how long I lay there, drifting in and out of consciousness, until a faint sound reached my ears—someone was approaching.

Through the haze, I recognized Miles Finch, Jasper's assistant.

He took one look at my mangled form and immediately made a video call to Jasper.

"Boss, this isn't good. Sloane went too far… The woman's face is completely ruined."
