Chapter 1

After the chairman announced my appointment as general manager, a barrage of floating comments suddenly appeared before my eyes.

[The supporting female character slept with some old guy just to steal the female lead's big client. How shameless!]

[Good thing our clever female lead already collected the evidence. Once she becomes department manager, she and the male lead can finally start their sweet life together!]

[I can't wait to watch the female lead and the male lead build their empire together!]

The so-called female lead, Cindy Carlton, stood there with tear-filled eyes.

"Shannon, how could you steal my client?"

I was so stunned by the floating comments that I didn't react right away, but she was already crying pitifully.

"Even if you wanted the deal, you shouldn't have sold your body for it! If you'd talked to me properly, I would've given you the client!"

The comment section popped up again.

[Our female lead is way too kind!]

Even my longtime boyfriend stepped forward to defend her.

"Who knows how many men you have slept with over the years? This time, you have to give Cindy's deal back to her!"

While everyone hurled insults at me, I helplessly pulled out photos of the thousands of cattle and sheep grazing across my family's massive ranch.

"Is selling beef and lamb to clients illegal?"

"Shannon, how could you steal my client?"

The new hire, Cindy Carlton, blocked my path. Her face was flushed red like she could barely bring herself to say the words.

[Once the supporting female character's act is exposed, it'll finally be time for the female lead and male lead's sweet romance!]

[Go, female lead! If the supporting female character is shameless enough to sell her body, we're not afraid to call her out!]

When I didn't respond, Cindy's eyes immediately welled up with tears as she launched into an accusation.

"The company believes in fair competition. Aren't you ashamed of using your body to steal clients?"

The noisy office instantly fell silent after she said that.

Coworkers who had been heading out for lunch all stopped in their tracks. They were clearly eager for gossip.

Feeling everyone's curious stares on me, I frowned and shot back, "I didn't do that. Stop making things up.

"Landing deals depends on skill and whether the client is interested. Don't blame your poor sales figures on someone else!"

At our company, everyone earned their own deals fairly.

Clients liked the beef and lamb from my family's ranch, so I helped sell some products on the side for extra cash.

It also helped maintain client relationships. That meant a win-win situation. How had it suddenly become something so awful according to her?

Cindy looked even more agitated by my response.

"I knew you wouldn't admit it! I saw you cutting a deal on the side! Are you seriously denying it?"

I nodded. "I did cut a side deal, but that–"

Before I could finish my sentence, Cindy suddenly shouted excitedly, "So you admit it!"

The moment those words came out, the way my coworkers looked at me completely changed.

I was just about to explain when my boyfriend, Franklin Lindt, slapped me across the face with pure disgust written all over his face.

"So that's how you achieved top sales? Spread your legs and the deals just come rolling in!

"I must've been blind to ever make someone like you my girlfriend!"

The slap left me stunned.

The floating comments were nothing but cheers.

[The male lead is protecting the delicate female lead. Oh my goodness! This is driving me crazy!]

[Next, the female supporting character gets kicked out, and the male and female leads can finally unlock office romance mode!]

The burning pain on my face hadn't even faded when Franklin continued speaking coldly.

"You're giving Cindy's client back right now, and then you're handing in your resignation!

"Otherwise, I'll call the police and expose every disgusting thing you've done!

"If that happens, even your parents' names will get dragged through the mud!"
