Chapter 6

"We will be staying here," he said, reluctantly letting go of her small, soft hands that gave him warmth, comforting himself with the fact that she didn't refuse to act as his pillow. "Sure," she replied while looking at her now empty hands. But then she cleared her throat and sat down at the side of the bench to give him space to lie down. As he was about to lie down, the bell rang for class, but he didn't turn back. Noticing this, Summer curiously asked, "Aren't you heading to class?" "I could ask you the same thing. No, I have a free period, but you're new here, so you need to head out." Although Jaden said this, he was already lying down with his head on her lap, showing no sign of getting up. Summer shook her head, then sighed before she replied, "Although I am new, I was the top student in my last school, never getting less than an A. So I'm good." "Why the pressure though? Do you have a dream school?" "Yeah, I really want to go to Harvard. It's my dream school. My dad went there. What about you? Are you skipping class, or do you have a free period too?" Jaden, who was seated face up and maintaining eye contact with her, was shocked for a second but quickly replied, "It's my free period. I don't skip classes. And shockingly, we are applying for the same school." "You wanna go to Harvard too?!" "Yes, anyway, wake me up in the next 40 minutes." After saying that, he turns his body sideways and wraps his arms around her waist, but she couldn't bring herself to push him away. Even if her mind tells her to scold him off, her body didn't move, nor would her mouth open. So she decided to stop thinking about it. Then she opens the novel, but no matter how hard she tries to concentrate, she couldn't. His breath was directly hitting her stomach, and she could feel the way his hands were wrapped around her waist, making her whole body heat up. He looked asleep, so she couldn't bring herself to wake him. With a resigned sigh, she closed the novel and dropped it on the table, set an alarm for 35 minutes, and then dropped her head on the table. Two more minutes pass before Jaden turns his face sideways to look at her sleeping face, which he could perfectly see. He stared at her a lot longer than he intended to, then he positions his face back to her stomach and slept off. Ring ting ting, ring ring ring... The blazing alarm jolted Jaden up from his peaceful sleep. Opening his eyes, he noticed that he was holding onto someone. For a moment, he thought it could be hate, but while regaining his composure, he remembered all that had happened. He unclasped his hands from her waist, which looked so small he thought it could break. Shaking his head to keep himself from straying into naughty thoughts, he turned to face her and noticed that even though the alarm was ringing right beside her ear, she still didn't wake up. Because of their position, he was able to get a good view of her face. She looked so peaceful while asleep; her lashes were really long and pretty too. His eyes then moved down to her lips, which looked very kissable and inviting. He started to wonder how good it would feel to have her lips moving against his. He groaned in frustration; just imagining it gave him a hard on. Shaking his head, he used his hand to pinch her waist because from the start to finish, the alarm didn't wake her, and he didn't think he could hold himself any longer if he kept staring at her sleeping figure, but he also let out a low laugh because even in her sleep, she was seducing him. "Wake up." Summer opened her eyes to see Jaden staring at her. Her eyes widened for a moment before she collected herself and asked, "Is the alarm off already?" Raising an eyebrow, he replied, "You know that the alarm doesn't wake you at all." Clearing her throat, Summer replied, "I was just tired; I didn't sleep much last night." As she was talking, Jaden stood up and began to stretch his muscles. "We still have time before the next class, so let's chill here." He sat back down and commented, "I like your outfit; it suits you." "Thank you." She blushed a little, wondering why he was complimenting her now when he had seen her just minutes ago. Jaden smiled when he saw her small blush and noticed that with his small interaction with her, he liked her even more and was always looking forward to her reactions. "I really like your outfit more than yesterday's choice of clothing." He recalled the skirt she had worn yesterday. Even though he had just met her, he felt jealous knowing that many boys had seen her long legs. He frowned at where his thoughts were spiraling to and wondered what this feeling was-this feeling of possession he had never felt before. Was it even possible to develop feelings in such a short period? he asked himself. Deciding not to think about it right now, he noticed Summer seemed to be calling his name. "Earth to Jaden, hello!" she said while waving her hands in front of him, sighing in relief when she felt him return. "What were you thinking about so seriously?" "Nothing important. What were you saying?" "Ooh, I said thanks, but I'm still gonna wear whatever I want. It's my body after all, and besides, you're not my boyfriend." Jaden smirked. "So if I were your boyfriend, then you wouldn't mind?" "That's not what I mean, but I wouldn't mind... maybe. I'm not sure?" she hurriedly explained. "Come on, let's head out before they ring the bell and people fill the hallway." She frowned when she heard this. "Are you ashamed of being seen with me?" Jaden chuckled, then turned to look at her. "No, but you wouldn't want rumors flying around. Personally, I don't mind, but I am sure you would." Still confused, they reached the front, where they noticed the librarian snoring, sound asleep. So they just left. As they came out of the library, a sophomore student gasped and brought out her phone to start typing furiously. But Summer seemed to be the only one who noticed the girl; Jaden didn't see her at all.
