Chapter 85

Third Person POV

A couple of months later, Alpha Christopher started regaining his memory. It started at the dinning table. He had started eating with the immediate family at the dinning, rather than have the food brought into his room as has been done by Wendy since he was given a second chance to life!

'Millicent!' he said, he had been looking at her and she at him. She smiled at him, flashing her even white teeth. 'when did you come back?' he asked rising to go to her.

Wendy was shocked and pulled him back down on his seat. 'Sit, Alpha Christopher, you don't need to exert yourself too much!' she said, glaring at Millicent.

'My love, I knew you'd come back to me!' he said, then holding his head, he grimaced. 'Is Sylvester okay?'

'What is it Christopher?' Millicent said, abandoning her meal, she flew to him, putting her arms around him.

'Christopher dude, are YOU okay?' Alpha Sylvester asked emphatically.

'This is what I was afraid of', Wendy said. 'I hope this doesn't hamper his progress!'

'What exactly are you saying, Wendy?' Millicent asked, getting really angry, and hugging Christopher's head to her. 'Are you saying that you do not want him to regain his memory and lead his pack the way he ought?'

'You are not in your right senses!' Wendy said, equally angry. 'These past couple of months, you have been trying to seduce Alpha Christopher, how selfish can you be?' she asked. 'Aren't you concerned about both his physical and mental well bring?' she asked with righteous indignation.

'What are you really afraid of, Wendy?' Millicent asked in a gentler tone. 'Are you afraid that Christopher would remember me and push you aside? Is that why you have been keeping him to your side, not wanting anyone to come close?' Millicent asked. She was not going to tolerate this anymore. As she was addressing Wendy, Millicent had Christopher's head on her bossom and rubbing it soothingly.

'Sylvester, is that you?'' Alpha Christopher asked, holding on to Millicent's waist and looking amusingly at his brother. 'You look well!'

'I'm good, bro', Sylvester said smiling at Christopher over the bantering of the females.

'It is okay, you can leave him now!' Wendy said, pulling Millicent's hand away from Christopher's head, and drawing her away from his body. All at once, Christopher held his head again, grimacing and moaning like someone in pain.

'What have you done, Wendy?' Millicent asked. 'Is this how you show your love? By causing him pain? Why don't you let him be?'

'Look at you!' Wendy retorted. 'You claim to be good but you are pregnant for another but still have your eyes on Alpha Christopher. Do you think an Alpha would take on a bastard as his own?'

Slap! This landed thunderously on Wendy's cheek and Samantha would have applauded but bit back a happy smile.

'How dare you call my pup a bastard! Millicent shouted at her and raised her hand a second time to strike, Samantha nodded encouragingly, in approval but Alpha Sylvester intervened, he had been quiet all this while watching both females. 'Stop!' he thundered, and both females looked at him, surprised. Catching Millicent's hand, he led her back to her seat.

'Are you both not ashamed?' he asked angrily. 'Millicent, look at your condition and you are exerting yourself by shouting over nothing?'

'How can you call what she's doing nothing?' Millicent asked, but Alpha Sylvester raised his hand for silence.

'And look at the person the both of you are fighting over. He is in distress and you are both too consumed with anger and bitterness for each other that you cannot see it. Yet you claim you care for him!' he said looking from one to the other.

'And you Wendy', he continued, 'I trusted you with the life and health of my dear brother and you are using your powers and spells on him? Preventing him from regaining his memories and recognizing his loved ones? How is that right?' he asked angrily.

'Alpha Sylvester, you are mistaken!' she replied but Sylvester raised his hands again for silence. 'I am talking and have not asked you to respond just yet. You do not interrupt your Alpha!'

'I'm sorry Alpha Sylvester!' Wendy said and Samantha looked admiringly at Sylvester.

'You have done very well, Wendy', Alpha Sylvester continued. 'and we will remain forever grateful to you for this second chance Christopher has to life! But, your continued presence here is becoming detrimental, rather than beneficial to Christopher's health!'

Wendy stared at Alpha Sylvester in shock, not believing what she just heard.

'I shall give you any amount in gold or cash that you ask for as a sign of my gratitude', Alpha Sylvester continued. 'but for the peace of the pack, you'll have to leave. We shall take it from here. We might invite you over again when things gets back to normal'.

'Are you asking me to leave?' Wendy asked, astonished. 'Christopher, your brother is asking me to leave because of this bitch Millicent!'

'Watch your tongue!' Samuel, Alpha Christopher's Beta snapped.

'Don't you dare call the future Luna of the pack a bitch!' Alpha Sylvester bellowed angrily, simultaneously with Samuel.

'Wendy isn't going anywhere!' Alpha Christopher said and Wendy smiled smugly.

'But Christopher..' Millicent started.

'Christopher, she must...' Alpha Sylvester began but Alpha Christopher raised his hand, 'I said, she isn't going anywhere and that's the end of the matter. Until I say otherwise, Wendy stays!'

Millicent knew Wendy must have done something. Maybe, she silently cast a spell on Christopher while Sylvester was speaking, she couldn't be sure but for Christopher to speak up for her like that didn't feel normal to Millicent and she felt frustrated. She could never forgive her for calling hers and Christopher's pup, a bastard.

'Christopher, I can take care of you, myself', Millicent started. 'Our mate bo...'

'Oh please be quiet!' Wendy said. 'Go look after your pregnant self. And by the way, why are you suddenly so interested in Christopher?' she asked 'Were you not about to get married to Alpha Sylvester when I got here?' she asked.

Christopher looked at Millicent and then at Alpha Sylvester. 'Why didn't you?' he asked, amusement in his eyes. 'What stopped you?'

Sylvester and Millicent could say nothing but to look at each other and then at him.

Alpha Christopher looked away from them, back at Wendy. 'This meal is over. Take me back to my room, please?'

'Of course! My Alpha' Wendy said, leading the way.

'Don't worry, Wendy', Millicent said getting up to her feet and holding Wendy's hand to forestall her. 'I'll take him!'

Wendy tried to snatch her hands away from Millicent, who held on tight, looking at her threateningly.

'Miss O'Hara', Christopher called, before Wendy could utter the word that was at the tip of her lip. Millicent hated being addressed so formally this way by him. 'You should be busy with your marriage preparations with your fiance. Don't let me stop you!' Millicent's hands fell way from Wendy's.Then looking at Wendy again, said, 'Are you coming Wendy?'

'Yes, Christopher!' she said, smiling triumphantly at Millicent, as she brushed pass her to Christopher.
