Chapter 64

Christopher's POV

I was not going to believe that Millicent had left me.

I rushed into her room. She must be dressing in readiness for her flight.

'I shall stop you from this grievous mistake you want to make Millicent!' I vowed as I rushed into her room. She was not there. I flung her bed covers aside, still no Millicent. I went into her bathroom, no Millicent.

Confirming that she was not in her room and in the building, I raced to our favourite spot - the stream but she was not there either but I smelt her. Her smell was very faint.

I followed her scent, racing into the bushes, Zara was urging me on. We need to find our mate! He spoke in my head and I agreed hundred percent with him. Soon, her scent became stronger and then I heart the sound of racing and without thought, I raced after the racer, sure it was Millicent.

I caught up with her. And leapt on her, falling her to the ground. and falling beside her as we rolled on the ground together, due to the impact of our collision and fall.

'What do you think you're doing?' I asked, panting.

'I should be asking you that!' she said, harshly. 'What do you think you are doing? Are you planning on breaking my limbs?'

I was shocked. What had I done wrong?

'You did nothing wrong but I have to leave. We have no future together?' she said, reading my thoughts.

'You don't really believe that, do you?' I asked.

'Oh, but I do!'

'What about last night? Did it not mean anything to you?' I asked, not believing my ears nor the turn of events.

'What about it?' She asked, nonchallantly. 'We both wanted to scratch an itch and we have done that and are both relieved of it. At least I am. What more do you want?' she threw at me carelessly.

I was dreaming. I couldn't be hearing this correctly. What happened between last night and this morning to cause this twist?

I pulled her roughly into my arms and kissed her. 'I want you. I love you and I know you want and love me as well!' My hands finding their way under her blouse to her breasts.

'You are mistaken! I may have wanted you last night, but I do not want you anymore. I need to go discover other places and packs, meet others, compare...'

Her words hurt but I needed to make her see that she still wanted me. I kissed her demandingly, forcing her mouth open. How could she not want this? How could she not want me? She was only pretending, and I intend to find out the reason she felt she had to act this way. She opened her mouth and kissed me back... And I lost it.

I had started out to prove to her that what we had was not just an itch but but a great unbreakable bond but the feel of Millicent in my arms drove me crazy with want. This - loving and feeling - was what I had wanted us to do this morning, but we could do it here as well. The place our 'love mating' was done, did not matter, what mattered were just the people and the emotion behind it. And the feeling behind this was overpowering.

My hands found her breasts, and I tore her blouse off her, sinking my teeth into her soft breasts, she whimpered and moaned loudly as I sucked her nipples. She threw her hands round me and I groaned. My hands started caressing her body down to her buttocks. I cupped her buttocks, drawing it close to my shaft which was engorged with blood and nodding his consent to what I intended doing.

All of a sudden, Millicent pushed me off her, picked her blouse and raced off.

I was caught unawares. I hadn't expected that move from her, I had been so carried away, that I had let down my guard. I was dazed from my lust and couldn't think fast just then. I got up and ran after her when I realised what had happened but could not find her. I ran through the length and breath of the perimeter but there was no sign of her. She couldn't be that fast. I caught her this morning when she had had a head start, why would I not find her now that I started chasing her almost immediately she took off? I took off again, covering the areas I had thought were not important but still no sign of Millicent. Rather, it was as though I was running in circles.

I tried to sniff her, so I could follow her scent. I was surely going to bring her back. But I could no longer smell her and I knew she must have masked her scent.

'Millicent!' I howled thunderously. 'Millicent!' But there was no answer.

I fell on my knees and beat my clutched fist into the ground as I felt my heart being torn from me. 'Millicent!' I kept howling in anguish. The pain I felt was terrible. I clutched my heart.' 'Millicent!' I groaned. 'Why did you do this to us?'

I tried once more to find her, running in the direction I had seen her go but it was fruitless. I howled and howled her name but instead of Millicent, some wolves close by came in response to my call. They stood at a distance, staring at me. I must have looked terrible because none dared come close.

I fell down and lay there, wriggling in pain. I do not know how much time I spent there, but I felt that I still have a duty to my pack as their Alpha and it would not do for them to see me as devastated as I was. It was my personal problem, and I would deal with it. I was going to find Millicent if it was the last thing I did! I stood after that resolution and went back to the mansion.
