Chapter 55

'Answer me, damn it!' Alpha Sylvester swore when I refused to respond to his question. 'What does my brother have that I don't? We both look alike, so if it is good looks I have it as well as he. If it's the title and position of Alpha, we both have it. Infact, you knew me as Alpha before him for goodness sake!' he said furiously.

'You are not compassionate', I said gently. Christopher will not force himself on me the way you wanted to just now!'

'He wouldn't, would he?' he asked angrily. 'Why would he when you give in to him willingly and I have to ... what? Grovel? Beg? You want me to beg you for it? Is that it? Then you should have said so from the start. Dear mate Millicent, could you open your sweet cunt for my cock to grease? Please, mate, I promise you, it will be paradise'. he said mockingly. 'I had to try this rough way to make you realise I am male as well and can give you what Christopher can and perhaps even better if you give me half the chance you give him.

'Was that how you gave my father a chance to prove his innocence before you brutally ended his life and that of his pregnant wife?' I asked furiously, glaring daggers at him. Then picking my shirt from the floor where he had thrown it, I covered myself with it.

'He murdered my parents! He was a traitor! A back stabber! He betrayed his own friend without a second thought. Why would I give him a chance?' he asked furiously.

'After all these years, you have not given thought to the fact that you may have been mistaken about his involvement?' I asked, sadly. 'He told me as he was dying that he was innocent. That he didn't do it, but at the time, I didn't know what he was talking about. It was recently that it dawned on me what he had been trying to tell me. You murdered an innocent man, Sylvester and I'm never going to forgive you for that!'

'And my own loss? What do you say about it? Do you think it was easy for me, having you here as a constant reminder of your father's treachery?' he asked.

'I am sorry for your loss. No body knows how painful the loss of parents can be, especially when they were brutally murdered more than I, but was that why you had to take an innocent life to salvage your pride and assuage your pain?' I asked just as harshly. 'Okay, let's assume O'Hara was guilty, which he isn't, by the way, what about his wife? And the innocent baby in her womb? They also killed your parents?' I screamed at him, releasing the pain, anger and bitterness I had bottled up inside me all these years. 'You are heartless, and ruthless! You do not have any shred of human sympathy, and neither do you know how to love. I pity you because you do not know what you are missing. What was that you said again, something about what Christopher has that you don't, you have the answer glaring you in the face. He never wanted you to murder my parents nor destroy my pack, not until you had concrete evidence but you were too vengeful and power hungry, impatient to show how strong and ruthless you could be and made the greatest mistake of your life!'

'I made no mistake! Your father committed the crime. And I gave him time to prove his innocence but he kept stalling so that it could all be swept under the carpet. If he were indeed innocent, he would have pulled all his resources and hastened to sold the mystery of my parents' deaths but he treated it lackadaisically'.

'And yet you wonder what Christopher has that you don't?' I asked, looking at him pityingly. 'He has compassion, he has a heart. He has even sent people to investigate the case from eleven years ago and he does not treat me like shit. He respects me. He is a great lover, I could go on and on...' I said but he cut me off.

'So you are adamant about not wanting to accept me as your mate?' he asked, changing the topic swiftly that my head swam.

'You have a chosen mate - Cathania. That was one of the reasons I decided not to punish her. Go to her, appease her. She loves you though you do not deserve it', I threw at him carelessly. ' On second thoughts, you deserve each other. Continue your marital plans with her and let this phase end!

'The case of you being my Luna will not end. Because of you, I have discarded Cathania and if it will give you any relief, I do not want her back in my life', he said arrogantly. 'Rest assured then that no one will be sharing me with you. That fear is taken care of now, isn't it?' he asked arching one eyebrow.

I shook my head. I have never seen a more arrogant male than the one standing before me.

'I do not need your assurances', I said. ' They are worthless as far as I am concerned. Can you see the way you just discarded someone who has been faithful in love with you all these years? She even tried to kill me because of her fear of losing you. Even recently, you promised her she would be your Luna and she believed you, working hand - in - hand with you. But look where her faith in you landed her?' I asked. 'And you say I should rest, assured of...what? Spare me!' I said, forgetting that my hand was what was keeping the cloth in place and as I wanted to place my hand on my hips, it fell and I quickly recovered it. Turning my back to Sylvester against my will I put the shirt on my head, intending to wear it properly but rough hands pulled me and I hit a brick wall which turned out to be Sylvester's chest.

'You do not want me but you keep tempting me with your delectable body', he murmured.' His hands went to my breasts again. 'I do not know what you have done to me but I can't stop desiring you. It may have started as a pretense but now, it's not. Believe it or not, I want you for myself'.

My hands were still raised in a bid to put the shirt on and getting them disentangled so I could push him away was not easy.

'You make my blood boil. I repeat that if I see you close to Christopher anymore, I will do the unthinkable and you better believe it!' Then he started

kissing my neck, while his hands kept moving from my armpit to my breasts and then up and down my breast with my hands still raised. 'You are an itch that has to be scratched and since you are not going to admit to your desire for me or submit your body to me willingly, then I'll take it by force. I am the Alpha and can do anything I please!'

All that of a sudden, he let go of my body and I heard a crash as something fell on the ground and then another flew past and landed too.

'You shall not take my mate against her will or you will answer to me and believe me, you don't want to do that!'

It was Christopher's voice. Thank goodness!
