The Rejected Beta's Secret: Rise of the White Wolf Novel Cover

The Rejected Beta's Secret: Rise of the White Wolf

I spent three years building the Silver Creek Pack’s defense grid, turning us into a commercial superpower. I did it all for Alpha Craig, believing that once the economy stabilized, he would finally complete our Fated Mate bond. But at the Annual Assembly, he didn't Mark me. He pulled Chanel Murphy onto the stage, draped her in red silk, and announced her as his future Luna. When I tried to leave, he used the Alpha Command to force me into submission, ordering me to design the security for his wedding to another woman. I went home to burn our memories, only to discover I was pregnant with his heir. Knowing he would steal my child to raise with Chanel, I made the agonizing choice to sever the bond myself. But Chanel wasn't satisfied with just stealing my life. She framed me for poisoning her unborn baby—a baby that didn't even exist. Craig didn't ask for proof. He didn't listen to my pleas. He used his Alpha power to crush me to the floor and performed the forbidden Blood Severing ritual, slicing his hand and mine to physically rip our souls apart. He thought he was discarding a jealous, useless Beta. He didn't know that the trauma of his rejection would shatter the seal on my bloodline, awakening the legendary White Wolf. Three months later, his pack is in ruins, his defenses are failing, and I have returned. But I’m not here to fix his mistakes. I’m standing on the stage as the Director of Project Chimera, with the most powerful Alpha King in the world holding my hand. And Craig is about to learn that you don't get a second chance with a goddess you tried to destroy.

Chapter 8

Dessie POV:

I woke up in a high-tech medical bay. The air didn’t just smell sterile; it stung—a sharp mix of ozone, antiseptic, and lemon cleaner.

Elder Elek was standing over me, holding a scanner. He looked exhausted, his grey hair disheveled and his shoulders slumped.

"You gave us quite a scare," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "When we found you... the energy readings were off the charts."

I tried to sit up. My body felt heavy, but also... different. It wasn't just a recovery; it was a recalibration. Like I had swapped a AA battery for a nuclear reactor.

"My bond," I croaked. My hand went instinctively to my neck.

"Gone," Elek said, his tone heavy with regret. "Craig shattered it when he tried to force the Mark on a severed connection. The physical trauma... Dessie, you will carry that scar forever."

I traced the jagged line of raised skin on my neck. It was rough, ugly, and undeniable. But it was mine.

"But," Elek continued, his eyes gleaming with a sudden intensity, "the White Wolf is awake. Your bloodline... it is the purest I have seen in centuries."

"What does that mean?"

"It means you have the favor of the Moon Goddess. Your intuition, your strength... they are effectively limitless now."

I swung my legs off the bed, ignoring the protest of my stiff muscles. "Good. I need to work."

"You need to rest!"

"I rested enough when I was a Beta," I said, my voice dipping into a cold, steel register. "Craig thinks I'm waiting for him. I need to be gone before he deals with the Rogues."

I spent the next three days in the Council's recovery wing. I forced myself to eat, to train, and to map the terrifying boundaries of my new form.

On the fourth night, I was meditating in the garden when the shadows rippled against the wind.

I smelled it instantly. Not a wolf. Rot. Ozone. Magic. Witchcraft.

"Found you," a voice hissed.

I opened my eyes. Chanel stood there. She looked ragged, her silk dress torn and stained, her eyes manic. She held a silver dagger that pulsed with a sickly dark energy.

"You stole my life!" she screamed, spittle flying from her lips. "You stole my Alpha!"

"You never had him," I said calmly, standing up fluidly. "You just had his greed."

She lunged.

Time seemed to slow down. I could see the desperation in her eyes, the sloppy trajectory of her blade.

I didn't even need to shift. I sidestepped her clumsy attack, grabbing her wrist. With a simple, efficient twist, I heard the bone snap with a wet crunch.

She shrieked, dropping the dagger as she fell to her knees.

"My blood," she babbled, eyes wide and unfocused. "The Rogues said... if I drink the White Wolf's blood... I become the Luna Supreme..."

"You are pathetic," I whispered.

Before I could finish her, the garden floodlights snapped on, blindingly bright.

"Secure the area!" Elder Elek’s voice boomed.

A dozen Council Enforcers swarmed the garden, moving with military precision. They tackled Chanel, pinning her to the ground.

"Get her out of here," Elek ordered. He looked at me, a mixture of fear and awe on his face. "You didn't kill her."

"She's not worth the stain on my soul," I said, wiping my hands as if I had touched something filthy.

Elek nodded, accepting the judgment. "Come with me, Dessie. It is time."

He led me to a hangar bay deep beneath the facility. A sleek, black jet sat waiting on the tarmac, its engines humming like a predatory beast.

"Project Chimera," Elek said, gesturing to the plane. "It is a global initiative. We build defense systems for packs that are being hunted by Rogues. We need a leader. Someone who understands strategy. Someone who cannot be commanded by an Alpha."

He handed me a tablet. "You will be a ghost. You will have a new name, a new face if you want it. You will save thousands."

I looked at the jet. Then I looked back toward the direction of Silver Creek, where my old life lay in ashes.

"I don't want a new face," I said, stepping onto the ramp. "I want them to know exactly who beat them."

"Then go," Elek said, stepping back. "Lead us, Dessie Hunt."

The engines roared to life, vibrating through the soles of my boots. As we lifted off, breaking through the cloud layer, I watched the sun rise.

It was a new day.

And the Beta girl was dead.

The Last Ledger Novel Cover
9.7
The Last Ledger ‎ ‎Kira Bennett had spent her entire life in the quiet margins. A meticulous, introverted accountant, she preferred the certainty of numbers over the unpredictable tangle of human emotions. Her days were predictable, her nights uneventful, and her world small by design. Until one ordinary evening-one misplaced flash drive-shattered the safety she thought would last forever. ‎ ‎It arrived by mistake, slipped into her files as casually as a memo. But the contents were anything but ordinary. Inside that unassuming drive lay the kind of evidence that could topple an empire-financial trails of corruption, coded transactions, offshore accounts, and the darkest revelation of all: murder. Kira understood numbers better than anyone. But these numbers told a story of greed, blood, and betrayal on a scale she'd never imagined. ‎ ‎Before she could make sense of what she'd uncovered, the threat came knocking. A silent team-merciless, efficient, and trained to erase problems-was dispatched to eliminate her. Kira had always believed preparation and order could protect her from chaos. But rules and caution meant nothing when hunted by ghosts who moved with lethal precision. ‎ ‎Then came Donovan Hale. ‎ ‎Handsome, reckless, and infuriatingly charismatic, Donovan was the last person she expected to crash into her life-and the only person capable of keeping her alive. As the estranged son of the corporation whose secrets the flash drive threatened to expose, Donovan had spent years rejecting his father's empire. He carried his own battle scars, his own buried fury at the rot beneath the polished corporate surface. Bringing the empire down wasn't just rebellion-it was justice. And Kira's accidental discovery was the weapon he'd been waiting for. ‎ ‎Their partnership formed out of necessity, but it was far from seamless. Kira, methodical and cautious, struggled to keep pace with Donovan's impulsive, risk-driven strategies. Donovan, who thrived in chaos, found himself both amused and frustrated by her rigid logic and quiet determination. Yet beneath their clashing styles, an unexpected respect began to grow-a recognition of strength in each other neither had anticipated. ‎ ‎Danger pushed them closer. Every narrow escape, every tense hideout, every shared secret deepened a connection neither of them was ready for. Attraction simmered between them-sharp, undeniable, and every bit as dangerous as the mercenaries chasing them. Kira had never imagined desire could feel like a second heartbeat; Donovan had never imagined he could care for someone who didn't come wrapped in adrenaline and trouble. But love thrives in the shadows where fear and trust collide. And for the first time, they both found something worth fighting for beyond survival. ‎ ‎As they raced through underground networks, abandoned warehouses, and the hidden corners of a city built on deceit, the truth behind the crime ring grew clearer-and more terrifying. The empire's reach was long. Its enforcers were merciless. Allies turned into liabilities. Safe houses became traps. Every step closer to justice carried a heavier cost, and every choice demanded sacrifice. ‎ ‎For Kira, the transformation was profound. The woman who once sought safety in routine discovered a resilience forged in fire. For Donovan, the battle became personal in ways he'd never expected, as protecting Kira forced him to confront the ghosts of his family's legacy-and the man he wanted to become. ‎ ‎Their enemies closed in with suffocating precision, determined to silence them before the truth could surface. But Kira and Donovan were no longer running-they were fighting back. Armed with the damning evidence on the drive, a strategic mind sharpened by terror, and a partnership burning with equal parts adrenaline and longing, they pushed toward the heart of the conspiracy. ‎ ‎The Last Ledger is a gripping fusion of suspense, danger, and electrifying romance. It follows two unlikely allies thrust into extraordinary circumstances-one seeking escape from chaos, the other born from it. Their journey weaves through betrayal, hidden agendas, and high-stakes confrontations, all while exploring the fierce, fragile bond that grows between them. ‎ ‎In the end, their mission is not just to expose corruption but to survive long enough to see justice delivered. And along the way, they discover that the most powerful force in a world built on lies isn't money, secrecy, or control. ‎ ‎It's the unexpected bond between a woman who never wanted the spotlight ‎and a man who'd spent his life running from it. ‎ ‎Together, they are dangerous. ‎Together, they are unstoppable. ‎Together, they are the last hope to bring an empire to its knees. ‎
