The Reborn Doctor, The Fake Daughter Chapter 1

The night before Grandma's surgery, I pulled my adoptive father, Robert Shaw, into the office and made him stay up with me, going through the medical plans in detail until dawn.

All this was because, in my previous life, when Grandma's heart condition suddenly worsened, the "real daughter", my younger sister, Jill Shaw, insisted on taking my position as Grandma's attending physician so she could personally perform Grandma's heart transplant.

I knew she had only attended a three-year vocational nursing school, so I refused.

However, Jill thought that I was humiliating her.

To prove herself, she impersonated me and secretly performed the surgery on Grandma. The next day, Grandma died on the spot from a rejection reaction. Her blood vessels ruptured.

When Robert arrived at the scene, Jill immediately threw herself in his arms, sobbing, "Dad, I never thought that Janice would be so afraid of me taking her spot as the attending physician that she'd break hospital rules and operate on Grandma in the middle of the night!"

Before I could explain myself, my adoptive mother, Molly Walton, jumped in to accuse me, "Janice, you're a murderer! Grandma trusted Jill to operate on her, so you tampered with the surgery and killed her!"

Robert, blinded by rage, shoved me straight off the 36th floor.

When I opened my eyes again, I had returned to the very day Jill planned to operate on Grandma.

"Janice, this is an important operation for Grandma. Let me handle it. Your skills aren't that great anyway. If anything happens to Grandma on the operating table, can you bear the consequences?"

Jill looked at me smugly, with her arms around our grandmother.

When I heard the familiar voice, I realized I had returned to the day before our grandmother's surgery.

I thought about the feeling of free-falling from a tall building and could not help but shudder.

"No. Absolutely not."

Before I could continue, a cup landed on my head.

"You have no right to speak! Jill is the Shaw family's legitimate heiress. She wants to be a good granddaughter by operating on her grandmother. What's wrong with that? Don't think that just because you took Jill's place, you're the Shaw family's real daughter!"

My adoptive mother, Molly Walton, sat on the edge of the couch regally and arrogantly, not even bothering to look at me.

Our grandmother was also furious. "Jill has been away from the family since she was young, yet she's worked on herself and become a famous doctor. She's much better than you! I have decided to let my granddaughter operate on me. You're just an outsider! You have no say on this matter!"

Jill looked truly aggrieved. "Janice, you've only become the attending physician here, all thanks to the Shaw family's name. You aren't that capable at all.

"Grandma's condition is critical. I've already come up with a new surgery plan. Janice, don't let your pride delay Grandma's treatment."

I looked at the trio before me, my fury boiling.

I wanted to stop Jill from proceeding with the surgery, but it looks like none of them were going to listen to me.

At that thought, I clenched my fists tightly.
