Chapter 4

"Stop shouting. You must have had a normal nightmare. Shouting could attract anomalies."

I had the voice but couldn't see the face because my eyes were gradually clearing.

When I completely got back my site, I saw Richy sitting by my bedside

"How did you get here? I locked the place inside. I wasn't expecting you, and where did you go?"

"Your questions are too many. Which of them would I answer first?"

I was looking at him lost. You did scare me. Waiting for him to let me know how he came in, he wasn't talking.

"Could you please answer my questions? I don't care how many there are. Start talking."

"I have the key to this room, Irene. I wondered how you could forget so easily. I remembered you had lost your memory."

"For where I am coming from, I went to supply my customers with some pork meat I killed."

I was satisfied with his response, even though I wasn't comfortable that someone else had the key to my house.

His statement showed that I am aware that he has a spare key and I wouldn't want to drag it

I told him I was hungry, and I went to collect food from him without his knowledge, and I apologized to him.

His reaction didn't show that he was angry; rather, he told me that he kept the food because of me.

"You are very beautiful. Your husband must've missed you a lot. As beautiful as my late wife."

I got interested in his words. "Her late wife."

I decided to ask him to tell me what happened to her.

"I lost her in an attack two years ago. Daily, I go to her grave to show her that I love her even in death."

I felt pity to see him speak about his wife in tears. He is such a nice person. He had shown me that everyone matters to him.

His stories about his customers were encouraging. They are happy with him since he doesn't disappoint them.

I pleaded with him to wipe his tears and he listened to me.

He requested we have a walk but I turned him down. I didn't want to be moving around with him since I needed to understand myself better

He called me Irene the second time and told me that he has keys to my apartment which I am not even aware of.

It is incredible to me, and I wouldn't want to ask him before he starts making references to my memory loss.

I followed him to drop the plates I used for eating. Though I asked him to hand them over to me, I refused.

By age, I saw him as an elder. If he could be older than the Alpha of his pack that was destroyed, then he must be far older than I and should deserve some respect.

He walked me back to my house after I had dropped the plates in his hot car

"Why do you live in the hot. Is it not conducive to my understanding?"

"I was living in your house, that's the only good place the attackers didn't destroy. I decided to vacate the place upon your arrival "

*Yes I remember now." I said in pretence to avoid him mentioning the memory loss issue.

He was shocked to hear such from me.

I watched from afar and saw fearful wolves coming in human form. I ran to my house to avoid being identified as Irene.

The lady Irene must be popular. I am not Irene, and if I am, why am I not understanding so many things?

Let's assume that I am not Irene, then who am I

I heard voices and I kept calm. They started discussions with Richy. He was still holding his gun on his shoulder.

I presumed he knew them. They could be his customers since I heard one say, " Don't forget tomorrow. I looked through the keyhole and saw them.

Two males and five females. They were moving through the track road. A distance from the forest.

Richy was accompanying them. He turned his back and asked the one behind him to go to the front

I was watching with keen interest. I observed that they must have been coming around which Richy never mentioned to me

As Irene, he would believe I am aware. While I am studying my body and what I am made of, I started noticing the smell of a few things.

It wasn't like that but I was glad of some transformation going on in me.

I went back to my bed and sat down.

I was glad that I moved fast before Richy's guess came. Though they took him unaware, I was glad he didn't protest when I ran inside because of his guess.

A knock came through the door, and I knew it was Richy. Trying to open the door wasn't easy.

I decided to look very well through the hole, where two guys were discussing.

Could it be that they knocked on my door?

I was silent and decided to observe.

Richy returned, standing with them. They brought him some money he made from bush meat sales.

After the Long discussion, he saw them off and returned knocking on my door.

I opened the door to let him in.

"I want to go get you food for lunch, I will be back soon. Lock the door." He said and left immediately.

I locked the door based on his instructions. Even though I would have still done the same without being told

It didn't take him long to return which signified the place wasn't too far.

"Why so fast?" I asked as I opened the door for him.

I realized that I came back from the restaurant with some food. Going there would take me a long time and you could be hungry.

"People will no longer be coming here. I am done with them for the day. I know you are avoiding them." He said with confidence.

I knew he was correct by saying I was avoiding them

I joined him despite his hot words against my earlier decision.

He served me some fruits he brought from his bag. They were fine and I ate them all

He shifted to another side of the pack I haven't been to.

It has flowers and small trees. It is a garden and a very cute place for relaxation. I fell in love with them

"You're smiling and touching the flowers. The same thing you were doing the day I met you here. What has changed?"

"I could see you love flowers, touching and smelling them is your hubby "

I didn't respond to him but continued touching the flowers.

Richy asked me to allow him to go and drop the remaining fruits in his room.

I nodded my head in acceptance. I watched him go far when I decided to climb one of the trees.

I looked from far away and saw people moving around like they were in a marketplace.

I suspected that was one of the places Richy goes to supply them with bush meat.

I turned my back and saw the size of the river. It was a huge one, and there were some fishermen where I was watching.

Some canoes and boats were moving around, carrying people from one location to another.

It was an exciting moment to see such.

I looked towards my right, that is where the main forest is. I couldn't see much.

Richy goes there to catch or kill some animals. Though in the distance, I wasn't glad I was in such an environment.

I came down from the tree yet Richy wasn't back.

Facing where the forest is. I was imagining how one has been surviving there when I was surprisingly being held from behind.

He brought an entire war fleet, blotting out the sky, just to "rescue" me. He nearly slaughtered the boy out of blind jealousy, forcing me to throw myself into his arms and cry fake tears to stop the bloodshed. "I'm taking you home. No one will ever hurt you again." He brought me to his flagship's secret medical bay and ordered the Empire's chief doctor to run a full genetic classification test on me. I panicked. If they discovered my true identity as an off-world Alpha, I would be dissected or executed.
