Chapter 2
Sasha's POV:
It was around two in the morning, when I was woken up through the mind link by my Father, 'GET UP NOW, WE ARE UNDER ATTACK' my father said loudly. Emelda woke up quickly beside me and we looked at each other with confused, terrified faces. We then scrambled to our feet, and ran all the way downstairs, outside to the front of the pack house.
It was pure chaos. Pack members were running helter skelter, screaming and shouting. Some were with children in their hands. There were a lot of dead bodies of my pack and theirs... I was beyond shocked, like completely out of words. Like who would do this to us? We were a peaceful pack, we never made any enemies or even tried to start a war. I stood there, I could not process what was going on, everything was happening really fast and swift. The smell of blood was overwhelming, the screams were deafening, I could no longer hear, I was so lost and confused, the only question on my mind was simply 'Why'.
My mother mind linked me, 'Sasha where are you sweetie?', her panicked voice asked. 'Mom, what is going on?' I asked her. 'Sweetheart, now is not the time to be asking questions, where are you?'. I didn't even realize I was crying until I fell to my knees, combing through my hair with my hands and discovered my hands were shaking. 'Sasha now is not the time to sulk and be weak, our people need us'.. my wolf Lina said. 'Tell me what to do,' I asked her. "Give me control," she replied. So I shift into my wolf and let her take control. Lina started fighting, heck I don't even care if I die. I would gladly die with honor knowing I died while defending the people I love and cherish. I turned to see that Mel had also turned into her wolf and was fighting.
We got near the border where the attack was mostly happening and mind linked my father, 'Daddy where are you?'. No response. I was terrified. Please moon goddess, don't let anything happen to my family. Then I spotted my father and mother fighting alongside the Beta and his family (Mel's mum and brother Kyle). I joined the fight along with Mel, we were completely outnumbered. Like way out numbered. My father then noticed us and mind linked me, 'SASHA, GET OUT OF HERE NOW. RUN'. 'NO, I'M NOT LEAVING YOU GUYS OUT HERE ALONE. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY DADDY, I'M FIGHTING ALONGSIDE YOU GUYS'. He turned to me in his wolf form and shook his head.
Just after that happened, Emelda's mom was bitten in the throat, with her neck in the other wolf's mouth, she mind linked everyone', I love you Emelda Cassie Jones, and Kyle Adams Jones. I love you so much Alex, don't forget that, I love you all'. And her eyes went black. The wolf had ripped a chunk of her throat out, he then threw her lifeless body to the side like it was nothing. The next thing we heard broke my heart, it was Beta Alex howling in pain, for the loss of his mate, the loss of the love of his life, you could hear multiple howls laced in pain after this, it was our pack howls, the pain of losing someone close to us, someone that is like family.
The howling stopped, then I turned to Mel in my wolf form rubbing my head against her neck to try and comfort her. At that point, my mother shifted back to her wolf form and ran down to us, 'Sasha darling listen up... you and Emelda need to go..." she was abruptly cut off by someone. 'Tsk Tsk Tsk, now now now, Mrs Vanders, if your pack could just comply with our new contract, this alliance would still be strong and this would never happen'. I turned to see the one person I would never have thought to see...
XAVIER.
Xavier is one of the few packs we have an alliance with. His father was a good friend of my father, they made an alliance to always keep each other's pack safe from external attacks. If one pack needs reinforcement, the other would jump in and help. They were our trusted ally. About two years ago, Xavier's mother died from a rogue attack which led to his father becoming lost (kind of like a lost soul, he is not dead). Once you've lost your mate, it's hard to remain sane, though it is not impossible.
This ended up making Xavier an Alpha at the age of 22. It was always Xavier, Kyle, Emelda and I growing up. Every time Xavier came over to our pack with his father either for business or random visitations, we would always run around together, play video games and even see who was better at what games. Xavier was like the older brother I never had, he was someone I was comfortable with, someone I trusted. We even thought we would be mates at one point but when he turned 16, he knew we weren't mates which was better for me because like I said, I viewed him like an older brother I didn't have.
'Xavier please let the girls go', my mother pleaded with him. I was so confused, why was Xavier attacking and killing my pack, my pack was like his pack. We were neighbors, we were practically family. 'You want to know why I'm attacking your pack Sasha?', Xavier asked, turning to face me, I nodded my head up and down saying yes, seeing as I was still in my wolf form. 'It was time to make a new contract, if we still need to be in Alliance, then your Alpha would need to give you up to me, to be my mate. You have Alpha blood, and I have Alpha blood, so our pups would grow up to be strong werewolves, so you see my dear, none of these would have happened if your father was to put his pack and duty as an Alpha first by giving you up rather than choosing to be a father first, this is all your fault.' I stood still, I was dumbfounded.
I was brought back by my mother's piercing screams 'Sasha Run'. I looked and saw one of Xavier's pack wolf lunges for my mother, grabbing her by the throat and before she could say anything else, snapped it thus killing her. It was easier because mom was in her human form. I heard my Dad howl in pain from the loss of his mate, his wolf going crazy, killing everyone from the other pack around him in a frenzy. I was frozen, My mother... the woman that gave birth to me, the woman that loves me unconditionally, the woman that taught me right from wrong, the woman that couldn't even hurt a fly, the woman with a pure heart. The woman that always had a smile on, one that always put her mate, her daughter and the pack first, before herself. The woman I truly love with all my heart...is gone. Gone in a blink of an eye and I couldn't even get to say goodbye. I was lost in my own little world. The screaming stopped, the vile smell of metallic blood also gone. Everything was gone, I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening. I was in serious shock.
I was brought back to reality by my father, he was in human form. He probably changed back when he noticed I was having a mental breakdown. 'Sasha, Emelda, leave, run until you can't run anymore. You guys need to leave now. I love you and your mother loves you too. We are definitely proud of the woman you are becoming. He said in his Alpha voice before morphing into his huge wolf. 'No daddy, you can not do this to me, you are all I have left. Daddy please.' but my legs were already moving on their own accord.
A couple of Xavier's pack wolves lunged at us, but my father, Beta Alex and Kyle killed them before they got to us. We were running straight towards the border and just before we crossed it, I heard Xavier scream, 'Sasha wherever you go, I will find you. I promise you that. And I will kill everyone that is helping you. MARK MY WORDS'. I took one last look at my home, a place I've called home for the whole 18 years of my life, the place that I grew up in, my pack, it is all gone. Houses were being burnt, dead wolves and children that didn't even grow up to experience having their own wolf.
It was all my fault. Xavier's words were embedded in my head,' It's your fault...'
It is my fault.

My mate, Alpha Santino, brought another woman into our home. She was a pregnant Omega, the widow of his fallen Beta, and he swore to protect her above all others.
He gave her my seat of honor, left our bed cold each night to soothe her feigned nightmares, and ignored me completely. I was the Luna of the Blackstone Pack, but I was becoming a ghost in my own life.
The final betrayal happened in my own bedroom. She stood over my vanity and deliberately shattered my mother's sacred moonstone necklace, the last piece of my family I had left.
When Santino burst in, he didn't see my heartbreak. He saw only her fake tears.
"What did you do to her?!" he roared, his voice laced with the Alpha's Command, a sacred power he used to crush my will.
Then, for her, he did the unforgivable. He raised his hand and struck me, his mate.
In that instant, the love I had desperately clung to turned to ice. The man I had sworn my life to had not only betrayed me but had defiled the sacred bond the Goddess herself had blessed.
As the pain of his betrayal ripped through me, something ancient and powerful awakened in my blood. I rose to my feet and spoke the words that would destroy his world and begin mine.
"I, Alessia Bianchi, reject you, Santino Moretti, as my mate."

I woke up in a lavish bedroom, only to find a man built like a god of war chained to my wall, glaring at me with pure, unadulterated hatred.
A glowing apparition appeared and told me I had died in a car crash and transmigrated into the body of Elara, a tyrant Luna. Worse, the chained man was Ryker, one of my six fated mates whom the original Elara had brutally tortured.
Because of her sadistic crimes-starving them, exiling them, and sending two of them on a suicide mission-my affinity with them was at negative five hundred. The apparition delivered my terrifying death sentence.
"In three days, at the Marking Ceremony, you will be killed by your six mates."
No matter what I did-freeing Ryker, sharing my food, or lifting their brother's exile-they viewed every act of kindness as a sick, twisted trap. They were just waiting for the punchline to my cruel joke, ready to expose me and end my life.
I was just a librarian who organized book clubs and paid my taxes. Why did the Goddess throw me into this doomed vessel to pay for a psychopath's blood debts? How was I supposed to survive when the men destined to love me were actively plotting to rip my throat out?
Cornered by their righteous fury, I realized playing defense wouldn't work. I grabbed a dagger, sliced my own palm over the ceremonial stone, and swore a blood oath to bring their missing brothers home-or initiate a soul-shattering Rejection Ceremony myself.

Standing on the edge of a limestone quarry in the pouring rain, I thought we were just having another family argument.
Then my mother, Ardell, screamed that I’d let the life insurance lapse, and my brother, Hakeem, stepped out of the shadows with a cold, calculating look in his eyes.
I told them I knew the truth—that Hakeem had cut the brake lines on my father’s car—but they didn't flinch. Instead, Hakeem shoved me hard, sending me tumbling into the abyss.
I hit a jagged ledge thirty feet down, the sound of my spine snapping like a dry branch echoing through the rain. As I lay paralyzed and broken, my mother watched from above, asking if I was dead yet, before Hakeem whistled for the starving wild dogs that lived in the quarry floor.
"Nature will clean up the mess,"
Hakeem said, walking away while the first set of teeth sank into my throat.
The agony was a tidal wave, but the rage was hotter, a nuclear hatred for the family that stole my future and the daughter I’d never see grow up. I died in that dirt, consumed by fire and teeth, wondering how a mother could choose a car payment over her own child's life.
But then, I gasped for air, sitting bolt upright in my old trailer bedroom. I looked at the calendar: May 12, 2014.
I was seventeen again, but I wasn't the same girl. Inside this malnourished body was the mind of a world-class trauma surgeon and the elite hacker known as 'Phantom.'
This time, I wasn't going to the quarry; I was going for their throats.
