Chapter 2

With the paperwork out of the way, Emmy took me around the neighborhood.

She gave me a tour on foot.

“The homes here are standalone villas, and the residents are exclusively women…”

My attention was diverted from Emmy’s introduction as an approaching woman caught my eye.

She wore plain, casual attire, her thick curls cascading down her chest.

The woman was a vision of beauty.

It was the first time I had seen a woman more beautiful than a celebrity in real life. She took my breath away.

I only managed to break free from the spell when the stunning woman spoke.

“Is he the new guy, Emmy?”

Her sweet voice was like music to my ears.

Though she was talking to Emmy, her eyes fixated on me. Her gaze was inquisitive, albeit more subtle than Emmy’s.

It seemed Emmy and the pretty lady were acquainted.

“Yes, he is. His name is Brook D’Amico. He’s highly educated and intellectually gifted.”

Emmy paused and blinked before drawling.

“He’s a total package.”

Miss Curls spared me another glance.

Nevertheless, she quickly looked away and exchanged pleasantries with Emmy.

Moments later, I learned that Miss Curls was Hannah Lovely, the owner of Villa No. 3. It was mostly just her in the villa.

I couldn’t take my eyes off Hannah as she walked away.

Standing beside me, Emmy noticed my staring and asked with a smile, “Is she your type? Do you want to get to know her better?”

Before I knew it, I nodded but saved with a shake of the head.

“No, I don’t mean it that way…”

I nervously explained, fearing Emmy might fire me for getting any ideas about a resident.

However, Emmy didn’t mind my response. She simply gave me a pat on the shoulder.

“Just do your work well. Who knows? You might get your chance.”

What did she mean by that?

Emmy left me confused.

Unbeknownst to me, I would soon find out.

That night, I received a call for help from Hannah.

“Help! I think someone broke into my house.”

I rushed to Villa No. 3 right away.

The door was left ajar, so I entered the place cautiously with a stun gun in hand.

“Don’t be afraid, Ms. Lovely. I’m coming!” I shouted out loud in an attempt to caution the intruder.

After searching the house, I couldn’t find anyone.

I hope the intruder didn’t do anything to Hannah.

“I’m here, Brook! Ah!”

While dwelling on worst-case scenarios, I picked up on Hannah’s urging cries.

Her voice came from the bedroom. So I rushed to the source of her voice, my stun gun at the ready.

There I was, expecting a fierce encounter with the intruder.

As the door swung open, I was met with the warm embrace of a woman.

Her intoxicating perfume filled my senses.

“You’re here at last, Brook.”

Hannah’s sweet voice reflected terror.

She gripped my sleeve and pointed at the broken window.

“The intruder heard you and ran off.”

I sprinted to the window and scanned the area, but there was no sign of anyone fleeing.

“Which way did he go?”

There was not a soul in sight.

I wanted to check the surroundings outside the villa, but Hannah held me tight.

“Don’t go, Brook. I’m scared…”

She burrowed into my arms to seek comfort.

I felt a gentle press to my lower abdomen, her buds rubbing against my skin.

It struck me that she only had a tiny halter top and a xxx on. Her long legs and exposed back were all I could see.

Hannah had a tear on her top, probably from the struggle with the intruder.

The outline of her well-endowed bust was visible beneath the fabric.

My head started spinning, and I nearly had a nosebleed.

I couldn’t talk right.

“M-Ms. Lovely, I…”

Hannah looked at me tearfully.

“I’m so scared, Brook. Can you stay with me tonight?”

I would be alone with a beautiful woman.

One thing might lead to another…

My breath turned ragged at the prospect.

Hannah had no idea how sexy she was, snuggling up against me.

A moment’s hesitation was all it took for me to say yes.

I stood in the center of my Manhattan penthouse, staring at the empty satin hanger where my custom Vera Wang gown should have been. It was a masterpiece of silk and pearls that had taken six months to perfect for my wedding to the billionaire heir, Boston Travis. Then my phone buzzed. Boston’s voice was a flat line, devoid of the love he’d promised me for four years. "The wedding is off, Florrie. I’m marrying your sister, Asia." He told me Asia was dying of Stage 4 cancer and her "final wish" was to be a bride—wearing my dress. He had sent his security team to my home with a spare key to steal the gown, claiming it was Travis property since his family accounts paid the bill. My stepmother texted me minutes later, demanding I vacate my own beach house so the "dying" girl could have a honeymoon. When I tried to protest, Boston snapped at me. "How could you be so heartless? She’s your sister. Have some compassion." They expected me to play the part of the discarded woman while they paraded my life around as a PR stunt. I realized then that Asia hadn't just taken my dress; she had spent her entire life stealing my father's love and my peace, always playing the fragile angel while I was cast as the villain. I didn't cry. I sat at my desk, opened my contacts, and relabeled Boston Travis as "TARGET." If they wanted a tragic story, I would give them a massacre. I reclaimed my mother’s multi-million dollar trust, seized the deed to the beach house, and walked into Asia’s hospital room with a lit sparkler to expose the truth behind her "terminal" illness. As I slapped Boston in the hospital lobby in front of a dozen recording iPhones, I realized I didn't need a husband. I needed a clean slate—and I was going to burn their empire to get it.
